Earlier, we showed you what spicy kicks Gilbert Arenas wore during his second game with the Grizzlies – the Nike Zoom Huarache TR Mid ‘Sony Playstation’, but that certainly was not all the icing on the cake! Big-man DeJuan Blair of the Spurs went H.A.M. this weekend with Jordans, rotating the Space Jams, Cool Grey, and White/Cement IV (wearing the latter two in the same game). Paul George rocked the Electrolime Foamposites again, while Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade debuted the Jordan Fly Wade Flight PO¬†that featured a special message for the slain Trayvon Martin. Still plenty more to see below, so take a look and let us know who wins the crown for the past weekend! via espn

Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’ Hidden Message

March 21st, 2012 by | 90 comments

air jordan iv white cement 2012 lettering 4 Air Jordan IV White/Cement Hidden Message

The hysteria surrounding the Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’ culminated in the ground-breaking release on February 18th, causing nationwide campouts and online retailers to shut down and regroup in order to cater to the mass e-crowds of customers. But for the months leading up to the release, the White/Cements were under some heavy scrutiny – all three-hundred sixty degrees of the shoe were poked at and examined to the point where not much had been neglected. It’s been over a month now since the Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’ hit stores, but so far, this interesting piece of news has yet to have been reported – a hidden message embedded onto the shoe that while not exactly in clear and present sight, would be easily detectable by anyone who took a minute to give the shoe a thorough examination.

On the Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’ the words ‘TWENTYTWELVE’ can be found pressed onto the leather on the lateral side of the tongue, a detail that is hidden under the laces and may have been overlooked for the remainder of the shoe’s existence. While this detail might not have been spotted on all the White/Cements that have made their way into the hands of consumers, we must ask ourselves: What’s the purpose of this little touch? Perhaps a way to differentiate this Retro with its predecessor? While the ’99 and ’12 White/Cements are easily distinguishable, the upcoming Military Blue IV and Bred IV might not be, as both have been re-issued over the last six years. Or maybe Jordan Brand has plans of throwing these cleverly hidden messages/details in future Retros as a way to battle the counterfeit market. In any case, take a trip to your sneaker closet to see if your White/Cements have the TWENTYTWELVE message! Thanks to Damian for the heads up.

NBA Feet: Around The League – 2/20 – 2/21

Just two more days until the NBA All-Star Weekend arrives (you know, the All-Star Weekend that almost didn’t happen?), and the NBA sneakerheads look to close out the unofficial first half with some great on-court heat. The Golden State duo in Monta and NateRob rocked the Air Jordan X ‘Old Royal’, which has proven to be the perfect match with their White/Royal/Yellow jerseys. J.R. Smith of the New York Knicks got back to his laced-up ways by wearing the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ during Monday night’s loss to the Nets. Teammate Jared Jeffries went with the Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’, while fellow Jordan Brand Carmelo Anthony, who had been absent for the majority of Linsanity, wore the ‘Home’ Melo M8. Al Harrington of the Nuggets, who sported some LeBron 9 iDs, switched it up by wearing the Nike Zoom Kobe VII iD, as did Paul George of the Indiana Pacers. Another notable baller that made a return was Baron Davis, who reminded us about his Li-Ning BD Dooms. Check out the rest of the NBA Feet from the last few days and stay tuned to Sneaker News as we continue our coverage up til the All-Star break! via Yahoo

Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’ – Release Reminder

February 17th, 2012 by | 74 comments

jordan iv white cement rr 9 Air Jordan IV White/Cement Release Reminder

With Jordan Brand re-releasing and introducing dozens of new and old Air Jordan Retros every year, the line that separates that ‘OG’ sneakerheads and the young guns tends to get blurred at a faster pace. Not to say that the two groups, while distinct, should necessarily be separated, but those who were around to bask in the glory of the original issue tend to appreciate these types of releases a lot more. If the ‘type’ we’re alluding to isn’t obvious to you, we’ll sum it up in these four words: Greatest of All Time. The Air Jordan IV in the White/Cement colorway is regarded, by some, to hold that famed title as the best to ever do it, and considering it hasn’t seen the light of day since it last appeared in 1999, the White/Cement will undoubtedly re-live that eminence and while providing a swift splash of cold water to the face of those who have strayed from the consuming hobby of collecting and wearing Air Jordans. Tomorrow is indeed the official release date of the Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’, so grab these at your local Jordan Brand retailer and let us know where the White/Cement IV ranks among the list of best Retro releases of the last decade. Won’t be able to hit up a store? Get one at the convenience of your home computer by shopping around from¬†yellownsxt on eBay.
