Another look at this incredible Air Jordan IV Retro designed for the UNC Tar Heels arrives, with a close examination of the heels and tongue logo comprising the bulk if this latest update. The diamond argyle print in white, carolina blue, and navy adorns the heels as well as the midsoles and lining, while the foot-print logo replaces the “Flight” patch on the tongue that has been a staple on the Air Jordan IV since ’89. The UNC Tar Heels color combo of white and university blue is one that’s long been associated with the likes of the Air Jordan line. The connection is made a little bit more official with this, the Air Jordan IV “UNC” PE pair, a promo only version of MJ’s fourth silhouette that was apparently produced for the men’s basketball squad out there in Chapel Hill. The sneaker plants a Tar Heels logo on the tongue, goes heavy on the argyle print, and even puts the “UNC” insignia on the inside. There have been but a select few Air Yeezy 2s made into custom colorways; the shoe is just too valuable to tinker with on a wider scale. Yeezy-inspired customs are considerably more prevalent and will continue so long as strong efforts like this are still out there to be captured. Ammo Skunk and Sewnupsoles teamed up to give the Air Jordan IV a Yeezy 2 makeover, including midfoot strap, python skin sides, molded heel and glow in the dark soles. Ever since we first saw that Jason Voorhees-style Jumpman on a pair of Air Jordan customs, folks have been endlessly tweaking the logo hits on their Air Jordan creations to better match the theme. The Air Jordan IV “Green Glow” releases on August 17th, 2013. We just confirmed the release of the “Fire Red Toro” Air Jordan IV, so that pretty much seals the deal for the Air Jordan IV being the highlight sneaker of the Fall 2013 Season. In addition to dropping on August 17th, the Air Jordan IV “Green Glow” will release in full family sizes. Are these a must-have for you? The Air Jordan IV “Fire Red Toro” releases on July 13th, 2013. Perhaps one of the most anticipated Retro releases of the year, this tonal-red Air Jordan IV generated a ton of chatter once Carmelo Anthony showed off his PEs after the London Olympics. Recent previews revealed that the upper material was not a suede material (like the 2012 Breds and the aforementioned PE), but a flat nubuck material. Yeezy-inspired sneaker customs aren’t anything new to the Sneaker News frontpage, but for some reason, we’re still attracted to the concept – especially when we see one top another. The last time we showed you the Air Jordan IV in a “Yeezy” custom was back in January, but this latest version is a bit different as the base of this shoe is the Air Jordan IV “Bred” (for a suede upper), and the Horus logo replaces the original Flight patch on the tongue. That combination of Black, Solar Red, and vibrant neon green is what draws us in (and the only reason why kids are beasting over those Roshe FBs at the moment), so check out the Air Jordan IV “4eezy” Customs below and let us know what you think.

Recently the Duke Blue Devils showed off their sick team rotation of kicks, but looks like the UNC Tar Heels might have a checkmate in the works as we get a first look at the Air Jordan IV “UNC” PE. Tar Heels players Marcus Paige and Dexter Strickland just showed off their latest team-exclusive pick-ups, which features the Air Jordan IV in a Carolina Blue upper, the signature diamond-argyle pattern on the inner lining and, interestingly enough, the midsole, and the iconic foot-print logo on the tongue. Feels good to play for the same college team that Michael Jordan once did, so check them out below and let us know what you think.
