The odds that Rita Ora is wearing a pair of Air Jordan retros on any given day are pretty high, the singer sort of becoming the posterchild for young women rocking retro heat. Her latest sighting came at the MTV EMA Awards, with Rita hitting the stage in an all red get-up featuring the upcoming Air Jordan IX ‘Motorboat Jones’ on feet. What’s more the dress code seems to have extended to her back-up dancers, a good number of whom were also rocking Air Jordans on feet. The pair has just a little bit in common with one ‘Kilroy Pack’ release, both it and the Air Jordan IX ‘Slim Jenkins’ sporting a black and blue combo. So the Air Jordan IX has made it to an impressive ten different colorways this season now with the addition of Oswaldo ‘Pollito’ Jiminez’ superb design for the ninth Doernbecher Freestyle, and each of these Holiday 2012 drops owes a little token of gratitude to the 1993 originals. The ‘Olive’ Air Jordan 9 is one of those nineteen year veterans, a shoe that dropped during Michael Jordan’s baseball career but still played a huge role in that first United Center season as the footwear of choice for the larger-than-life bronze statue that’s become one of Chicago’s most popular tourist attractions.
