At last we get a deeper look into his shoe collection, particularly the Air Jordan range, one which shows that he is indeed deep into the Spiz’ike game. That’s not all he’s got going on though-the shots here are also filled with a good number of other retro pairs that each look like they get a good amount of wear. air jordan pack history A Look Back at Memorable Air Jordan Packs

If you were part of the lucky generation that had the privilege of watching Michael Jordan in his prime (or simply, the 90′s), you’d have a sheer overflow of heroic tales to tell about the man. The truth is that there really is never-ending list of stories to tell, and this weekend’s Air Jordan “Fear Pack” recital shows that Jordan Brand is definitely going about it in the right way; a great concept, stunning colorways, and can’t miss models – three ingredients that sum up to one of the best releases of 2013.

One of the biggest attractions at Nike DC that opened last October is this amazing display of Air Jordans done up in classic Georgetown Hoyas colors. Located on the top-most floor, this great display stands opposite of the Jordan section, giving customers an exclusive museum-like exhibit alongside the retail experience. While we were in-store for the Nike KD VI iD preview session, we took a quick moment to snap some photos of this legacy of Air Jordans inspired by the basketball powerhouse school located just minutes away. Luckily, after visiting Nike DC, we stopped by Georgetown University to chat with legendary hoops coach John Thompson and his son John Thompson Jr., who is currently the Hoyas head coach. Check out the gallery of each individual Air Jordan from the set and let us know which you like best.

Let’s keep in mind though that that story was sort of around for the shoe’s initial 1993 release as well though. We’re speaking of the “Powder Blue” colorway, one that opted for Michael Jordan’s old UNC colors as a way of telling a story other than the “Bulls” one. You’ll recall that accompanying ad campaigns even featured MJ in that uni with those sneakers. air jordan ix photo blue black holiday 2012 sample 1 Air Jordan IX Photo Blue Patent Leather Black | Unreleased Sample

The Air Jordan IX “Photo Blue” release of the Holiday 2012 was perhaps one of the most oddball stories in recent sneaker memory. To quickly recap, a factory error product a large number of shoes with the incorrect color on the outsole, but instead of disposing of the shoes, Nike decided to release them as B-Grades exclusively through Nikestore. The story gets a little more confusing because Sneaker News brings you this exclusive story on yet another unreleased version of the Photo Blue/Black Air Jordan IX as we bring you a very first look at the patent-leather version that never made it to production. ¬†Sharing the same Photo Blue/Black colorway, this unreleased Air Jordan IX Retro uses patent leather on the upper with black nubuck for a pretty interesting colorway that might’ve fit right in with the “Kilroy Pack” concept. Should these have released? Check out the exclusive gallery below and let us know know what you think. Many thanks to Jae Jung for the photos!
