For the last five years, the Doernbecher x Air Jordan has been the undisputed standout of the bunch, with last year’s Superman-inspired Air Jordan IV being one of the more coveted sneaker releases of the year. This year, Jordan Brand has selected the Air Jordan IX – currently one of the trending Air Jordan models amidst the “Kilroy Pack” and other highlight releases; designed by Oswaldo Jimenez, the Air Jordan IX Doernbecher features a distinct feather detail that is derived from Oswaldo’s nickname of “Pollito”, which translates to “Chicken Little”. Need an intermission from the six chapters of the Kilroy novella, but want to keep the Air Jordan Retro channel open? Jordan Brand will offer up an Air Jordan IX independent from Johnny Kilroy this November 3rd (the same release date as the Motorboat Jones) in this Black/White-Photo Blue colorway, which we all know has its own scintillating story of its own. Apparently a major snafu at the factory overseas led to mass-production of an alternate version, which in a way cleared up the story of whether or not two different Photo Blue IXs will release. We hope you like the white-sole version because, well, you have no choice! More angles below so expect these at Jordan Brand retailers on the scheduled release date of November 3rd because these are beginning to arrive in stockrooms.

Releasing in the second week of November is this Deep Royal/University Gold-White colorway of the Air Jordan IX that has been chosen to represent ‘Calvin Bailey‘ – one of Michael’s six aliases he conjured up during his first retirement in the mid-90′s. We’ve pointed out the NBA team connections in the colorways, and it’s clear that this Royal/Yellow combination will be popular out in Golden State, in Indiana (Paul George, we’re looking at you), the Grizzlies, the Nuggets’ alternate, and more, so maybe the Bailey will be commonplace in our upcoming NBA Feet segments.
