AIR JORDAN IX The Air Jordan IX made its debut in 1993, with the Tinker Hatfield design aiming for a worldly focus in the wake of Michael Jordan's absence from the NBA. The original Air Jordan IX was a sneaker never worn by Michael on the basketball court during its original run. A quick update on the Air Jordan IX ‘Motorboat Jones’; the release date was previously reported to be in early December, marking the last of the Kilroy Pack releases, but Jordan Brand has just updated the official release date to November 3rd. Yes, that’s just two weekends away, and based on the highly positive response to this colorway, we can safely crown these as the cream of the Kilroy crop. Do you agree or disagree? In any case, be advised that the release date is now November 3rd and let’s hear your opinion on “Best of the Kilroy Pack” in the comments section below.
Updated October 26th, 2012: Jordan Brand is now reporting a different release date for the Air Jordan IX ‘Motorboat Jones’. Their official info has been amended to the original December 1st release date, as originally reported by Sneaker News.

We got a brief break from the Air Jordan IX ‘Kilroy Pack’ releases this past weekend, but best believe the group is far from over, with four more pairs yet to arrive. T.I. is apparently on board with the set, popping up at the airport on his way to Howard homecoming with the Air Jordan IX ‘Johnny Kilroy’ on feet. Click through with us for the latest of a string of T.I. Air Jordan retro sightings, along with bonus shots of wife Tiny in the Air Max 95, and let us know in the comments if you think he rocked ‘em right.

When it was announced back in spring as a Q4 2012 drop, the ‘Cool Grey’ Air Jordan IX Retro instantly became one of the holiday season’s highest profile releases. But the past few months have brought forth several new styles, and after the ‘Johnny Kilroy’ capsule brought the total to nine IXs for ’12, it’s worth checking in with this beloved style to see where they rank on your revised list of priorities. Dropping two weeks after the ‘Motorboat Jones’ alias finale and a week or a little more before the traditional holiday Elevens (Bred this time around, of course), the Cool Grey 9s have some serious competition (and what about that Doernbecher rumor?!). Sneaker News will keep you posted with all updates as we approach the December 15th release date and you can see a new set of images below in the meantime.

If you had your choice between these and the alleged factory floor blundered version with the black outsole, which would you choose? It’s a coin-flip really because the combination of Black and Photo Blue is what anchors the colorway, and given the ‘OG’ styled color-blocking, we can guess that these will be a popular pick once the November 3rd release date arrives. If you want to sing the Photo Blues ahead of time, we found some at a reasonable price, so check out this latest gallery of images below and snag your pair right now from limitedshoes on eBay.

The Air Jordan IX ‘Johnny Kilroy’ capsule kicked off two weeks ago with its namesake debut and quickly followed up with the ‘Fontay Montana’ edition just a week later. The last two pairs will also drop just seven days apart, but in between, expect three two-week gaps as Jordan Brand makes room for other big releases like the OG ‘Olive’ colorway. Our next alias Air Jordan 9 is the ‘Bentley Ellis’ Crawfish edition coming up next Saturday, October 27th, and with the way the first two pairs went, we expect this Cleveland Cavs-ish colorup to come and go quickly from Jordan Brand retailers like Concepts. Have a closer look after the jump below, let us know which is your favorite and if you plan to collect the entire Johnny Kilroy pack.

It seems that some tough luck has been thrown in the direction of the Air Jordan IX ‘Olive’. By the time the November 17th release date arrives, five Air Jordan IXs will have already released by then, diluting the overall selection of the Retro release. On top of that, the controversial ‘Thunder’ IV is also set to drop on the same day. Will the Olive IX prevail over its precarious situation and be a sleeper hit of 2012, or will it be an afterthought, much like the ’94 original and ’02 Retro were? We’ll keep you updated on any progress of the Air Jordan IX silo for Holiday 2012, but in the meantime see what it’ll cost to get ‘em right now by visiting the listing from limitedshoes on eBay.

Does anyone remember the Air Jordan IX Player Exclusive made for LeBron James? Those were in SVSM colorways, but had Jordan Brand continued their PE approach with LeBron as a pro, he could’ve worn something similar to this ‘Bentley Ellis’ colorway of the Air Jordan IX ‘Kilroy Pack’. The colors represent the ‘Crawfish’, but the maroon and yellow match the Cavs’ current Retro-themed uniforms that came to life once LeBron left for greener pastures in Miami. We have a nice detailed look at this October 27th release, so check out the gallery below and let us know where these rank among the entire Kilroy Pack.

Will this December’s ‘Cool Grey’ release be as successful as the 2010 Cool Grey release? Granted, the IX isn’t nearly as popular as the XI is, but Cool Grey IX is one of the most popular Retro releases of all-time. Originally releasing in 2002, the Air Jordan IX ‘Cool Grey’ was one of the few Air Jordans that pulled off patent leather fairly well, but does it stand out enough to warrant another Air Jordan IX purchase considering the six Kilroy Pack releases and the other two Retros (not to mention the rumor of the next Doernbecher release being the Air Jordan IX)? Many are looking solely at the Cool Greys, so if you want them ahead of the December release date, get ‘em now from el-store on eBay.
