A simple enough equation with a cryptic result is what you can make of this upcoming Air Jordan Hybrid shoe, which clearly combines key elements from the Air Jordan III, Air Jordan V, Air Jordan VI, and Air Jordan XX. Starting from the ground up, this hybrid sneaker utilizes the Air Jordan V midsole, and Air Jordan III mudguard, toe, and heel, and an upper that fuses the Air Jordan XX and the Air Jordan VI. Spin it in whatever way pleases you, and try to come up with some result of ’23′. Maybe the Air Jordan Spiz’ike II? Eminem and Jordan Brand were a match made in heaven a few years back when it came to the vigorously sought after collaboration models like the Air Jordan II and IV. It’s been a while since we saw JB and Slim Shady link up, but now we get our first look at a new Spiz’ike unmistakably inspired by the infamous Eminem Encore Air Jordan IV. While it’s still unclear if there is any official tie to the rapper for this go-around, the color combo and application make it hard to ignore the Air Jordan IV influences. QREAM, Pharell ‘s new line of cream liquers, officially launched late last week in Miami with a star-studded launch party. Including Pharrell, the notable guests were hip-hop artists Fat Joe and Q-Tip, both of whom wore some notable sneakers to the cheery event. Fat Joe (who isn’t looking as fat these days) wore the Air Jordan III Black/Cement, although the few glimpses we caught weren’t enough to determine which release they were, and Q-Tip match his ‘A Tribe Called Quest’ tank-top with the Air Jordan Spiz’ike in the Black/Green/Red/White colorway – one of the original colorways of the Air Jordan Spiz’ike. If you tuned into Sneaker News last week, you’d know that it was one of the biggest seven-day spans of headline-making Air Jordan news. The confirmation of the Air Jordan X Chicago as well as looks at samples of the Air Jordan IV White/Cement and an Air Jordan III in nubuck was enough buzz to keep you interested, but the horizon of upcoming Air Jordan releases is about to get a bit clearer. MTV began filming of the fourth season of Jersey Shore not long ago, and cast-member Ronnie already garnered attention in the gossip spotlight as he was allegedly involved in fisticuffs with fellow house-mate ‘The Situation’. While Ronnie’s character has been under heat, he’s also been in heat, because he’s enjoying his time in Florence rocking some sweet Air Jordans. Ronnie’s been seen wearing general release Nikes and Jordans during the first seasons, but he’s apparently been bit by the Air Jordan bug because so far, he’s been rocking the Air Jordan XI (both Space Jam and Concord), the Air Jordan VII Bordeaux, Air Jordan XIII from the Collezione Package, the Air Jordan IX Citrus, and even threw in some Infrared Spiz’ikes. Spike Lee came dressed with his Sunday best as he attended the daytime game between the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks. He sported a nice hat in celebration of the Easter holiday, but all the attention was focused on his sneakers – the Air Jordan Spiz’ike in a NY-specific Blue/Orange that he bragged about just a few days ago. Although the Knicks fell to the Celtics and had their season shortened, the game itself was star-studded on courtside, as Spike was joined by comedian/actor Zack Galifianakis, musician/actor Jason Schwartzman, Brian Baumgartner of (Kevin of ‘The Office’), and many more. It’s great to see New York basketball relevant again, and the Knicks could easily be up 1-0 in their opening round series against the Celtics were it not for a Ray Allen 3-pointer and a questionable shot attempt by Carmelo. The Knicks are still very much alive in the series because they’ve proven that they can bang with the elite teams in the East, and they certainly have one of the best sideline cheerleaders in the game in Spike Lee. The Brooklyn native, close friend of MJ, and rabid Knicks follower has been spotted all season long cheering on the blue and orange while wearing some sweet sneakers, like his Air Force 1 Low iD, the Air Trainer SC, and the Zoom Huarache TR Mid, but you might seem him rock these New York Knicks PE colorways of the Air Jordan Spiz’ike very soon (perhaps during tonight’s Game 2?). One version features a tonal orange upper with a black/white midsole and black ‘wings’, while the second tonal royal blue features orange wing-tips with the same black/white midsole, with translucent outsole tying ‘em all together.
