We’re excited about the April release date for the long-awaited ’Grape’ Retro, but don’t forget about the other OG white leather Air Jordan V that’ll be here even sooner. The ‘Fire Red’ Air Jordan 5 Retro will be here in just over a month, beating fellow Class of ’90 alum ‘Grape’ by three months. There’s also a reissue of the 2006 model with its inverted accent colors coming up for the fall season, so ’13 is shaping up to be huge for Fives, and it all starts with this one on January 26th. Click through to see more details and let us know which 2013 Air Jordan Vs you’re most eagerly anticipating.

This other Air Jordan V sporting white, red, and black exclusively is also coming back in 2013. You’ll have to wait till the Fall though, the Air Jordan V ‘Fire Red’ confirmed to be releasing and looking to do so right around the same time as the Air Jordan III ‘Fire Red’ and that new Air Jordan IV ‘Fire Red Suede’ that we just broke news of. Do you see yourself picking up all three from this potential Air Jordan ‘Fire Red’ pack’? Let us know in the comments and make note of the no-23 hit on the back end.

Better watch out for the Toronto Raptors – they’re heating things up! On Monday night, DeRozan wore the Air Jordan V ‘Fire Red’, joined by Amir Johnson in the Chicago X and Dominic McGuire in the Cool Grey XI. Melo kept the Knicks perfect with the Melo M8 Advance, while LeBron kept the Heat on a roll with the LeBron X ‘Pressure’. Shannon Brown whipped out the Team Brown Hyperposites while LaMarcus show him what the PE game is like. But among all the hot sneaker sightings, none was as surprising as Jerry Stackhouse, who wore the Fila Stack Mid during a Nets Home game. More of NBA Feet below, so peep the high-res gallery and stay tuned to Sneaker News for the best in NBA Feet!

A few preview photos with blindingly intense lighting have made some wonder if the latest ‘Fire Red’ Air Jordan 5 Retro might be done in white patent leather, but these latest images prove that’s a distinction that’ll remain solely with 2009′s ‘Dark Army’ and last year’s ‘Midnight Navy’. If anything, these Fire Red Fives get closer to their roots than when released in the ’08 CDP, as the ’23′ embroidery is eschewed in favor of a classically clean build like all those originals strewn across Mars Blackmon’s bedroom twenty-three years ago. Stick with Sneaker News as we approach the late January release date and check out a bunch of new images below in the meantime.

The black and Metallic Silver Air Jordan V Retro has gotten more than its fair share of love in recent years, so it’s time to bring back some of the white Fives to balance out the OG distribution. The beloved ‘Grapes’ are on tap for May of next year, and about halfway between here and there we’ll be blessed with a fresh round of ‘Fire Red’ Air Jordan 5s. These releases pretty well rule out a quick turnaround for the AJV’s 23rd anniversary in 2014, so not only do they give us some well-aged heat from the Air Jordan Legacy vaults, but also suggest Jordan Brand will have to come up with some new styles to fill out the tradition. Let’s return our focus to releases we know we can count on for sure, and that includes the pair you can see more of below arriving next January.

The 23rd anniversary celebration has become a tradition for Jordan Brand in recent years, so while we can go ahead and chart out the releases until 2022 (which would be the Fourteen’s year to shine), we don’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves here in 2012. So here’s a look at one of the first retro drops for next year, another round of ’Fire Red’ Air Jordan Vs slated to arrive on the last Saturday in January. These look pristine as your front lawn on a snow day thanks to a lack of heel embroidery and really open themselves up to some creative custom expressions, but there’s nothing quite like an impeccable original. Have a closer look below, let us know how your ’13 shopping list is shaping up as we continue to preview next year’s hottest releases here on Sneaker News and check back with us for updates.

Attentive Jordanheads have known for some time to expect a serious run of Air Jordan V Retros next year for the 23rd anniversary (just as with this year’s complete run of OG AJ4s), and here’s a new look at the first one up for the new year. Releasing in late January will be the ‘Fire Red’ Air Jordan 5, a popular 1990 original last seen paired with the AJXVIII in ’08′s Countdown Pack. They don’t have the ’23′ heel embroidery like those CDPs but do keep with the original blocking instead of the roughly opposite concoction we’d seen among the other spring 2013 Air Jordan Retros in a June preview. We still have a ways to go to get to the next round of Q1 drops including a jam-packed holiday season, but new images of the Fire Red Fives follow the jump below and Sneaker News will keep you up to date the whole way.

The Air Jordan V is getting a little crazy in the near future. There’s that GS version donning a strawberry red upper and then of course the all-over elephant print look that caused quite a stir when the images first popped up. Fear not though, as at least on OG look is in store: the white/black/red that last popped up as part of the Countdown Pack. To help you out with the long wait we’ve spotted the first teaser shot of the sneakers, one that shows that they will arrive without the ’23′ hit on the side. Click through for the full photo and let us know where you rank this Air Jordan V release in terms of the 2013 retros we already know about. And as always, stick with Sneaker News for more photos ahead of the January 26th release date.
