The upcoming release of the Air Jordan V “Grape” will certainly be picked clean from the vines, but how about this other seasonal variety? The Air Jordan V “Black Grape” features the same mix of Emerald and Purple, but instead with a black nubuck upper replacing the classic white leather. This yin-yang arrangement of grapes is certainly a treat for Retro fans, but don’t forget that “Black Grape” was already done by a sneaker customizer not long ago! Check out the extra angles below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more details on the Air Jordan V “Black Grape”.

This is truly the golden era of sneaker releases, with footwear brands focusing on imagination and storytelling on top of design to accentuate their releases. There are, of course, a number of dream situations that we’d all love to see, and some of them have come true; the Air Jordan III Retro ’88 and the Air Foamposite One ‘Galaxy’ are two great examples because they broadened the possibilities for both models, giving us even more reason expect stretched limits in terms of creativity. With that said, we’re starting a new “What Do You Think?” feature on Sneaker News in which we ask you, our readers, for your thoughts on some interesting sneaker concepts that not only make sense, but have potential of releasing in the future.
With the Retro category being the dominant force in the sneaker game, footwear brands have done quite well when resourcefully reintroducing its most iconic and revolutionary designs. Nike’s recent ‘OG’ releases of their original Air Max models is, ironically, a fresh way to put the shoes back on the shelves, with the pre-yellowed midsoles and other aged qualities being the focus on these bringbacks. Our question to you is: What do you think of an Air Jordan Retro VNTG release? We know Jordan Brand jumped the hurdle in regards to bringing back ‘Nike Air’, but an Air Jordan III with pre-yellowed midsoles and back-tabs or a pair of Air Jordan Vs with the right tint on the once-icy outsole and netting might turn a few heads, and who knows how much longer Jordan Brand can re-release the same Retros again and again? Pretty much every original Air Jordan from 1 through VII could potentially be redone in this special VNTG way so check out the gallery of some OG Air Jordans that could potentially return in VNTG style and let’s get the discussion going in this installment of WDYT?.

We’re roughly half-way through March, and thus far three OG Air Jordan Vs has been confirmed or released and a popular Retro+ colorway is due up for a Holiday release. We’re still waiting on a brand new colorway to come about – perhaps something along the lines of a storytelling release like last year’s ‘Cavs’ – but we do know the girls have this nice ‘Floridians’ mix of Black, Bright Citrus, and Fusion Pink on the way. A firm release date hasn’t been established just yet, but we expect these to drop in the Summer 2013 season, so we’ll let you when these as well as the rest of 2013′s Air Jordan V Retro releases are due up.

The Holiday 2013 schedule just got a little bit more exciting with the arrival of this Air Jordan V. You’ll remember we’ve seen the colorway a couple times before, as a handful of different black based Air Jordan V samples made their way onto eBay over the past year or so. Are you glad to see this sort of ‘Oreo’ look liberated from sample purgatory and making its way onto shelves this year? Let us know in the comments and keep your eyes locked on Sneaker News for updates on this new Air Jordan V.

A few years back the rumors of a ‘Grape/Laney’ Pack was so titillating that it still gets talked about today, even when those rumors were squashed long ago. All Jordan fans had to do was wait until 2013 when the Air Jordan V would make a mass comeback because the Air Jordan V ‘Laney’ is indeed returning this year, with a rumored drop during the Holiday season. This colorway is not an original, but one of the first Retro+ colorways that pretty much started the whole craze of non-OG color-combos in the 2000s, but considering the history behind the yellow and blue (Jordan’s High School), these are held at very high esteem. This pair of the Air Jordan V ‘Laney’ 2013 Retro is a look-see sample so the final version may have a few changes, but you can bet the 2013 release will look just the same. Take a look below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for solid release information.

Following up on the brand new Air Jordan exclusive that we spotted Chris Paul with this morning, we’re now going back in time to his days with the New Orleans Hornets via this Air Jordan V. The sneaker is a pretty bright affair thanks to the trademark creole blue and mardi gras gold sections that sneak onto the white base. See more of this Air Jordan V for Chris Paul right after the jump (Complete with #3 embroidery) and see what it takes to own them yourself courtesy of bluphi1 on eBay.

With the ‘Floridians’ color-combo born from the LeBron category being such a popular one among the fellas, don’t you think this upcoming Air Jordan V colorway meant for girls would do well for the adults? Using the black upper and adding in the fresh hits of Fusion Pink and Bright Citrus, these Air Jordan V ‘Floridians’ are one of the better GS shoes we’ve seen, and there’s no denying that the appeal in the crossover to larger sizes is certainly there. Unfortunately, these won’t go beyond a size 7Y, so for our smaller-footed readers who are waiting for a release, check out the new detailed gallery below and we’ll hit you with more information as it develops.
