So yesterday we gave you a nice showcase of Sneakers and Dogs in a contest put forth by Crooked Tongues, and the response to the clash of the cuddly and the deadstock was, without surprise, rather high. Continuing the trend of sneakers and “things that have nothing to do with sneakers” is this impressive showcase of miniature sneakers and toys put together by IG user iwantyoursole. It mixes classic with classic as we see Raphael of the Ninja Turtles holding up both Infrared colorways of the Air Jordan VI and futuristic with a Pewter Foamposites and Robocop, so check out this dope showcase below and let us know which is your favorite.

We’ve already seen plenty of sneaker-inspired iPhone cases done “minimalist” and outsole style, but these latest creations done in collaboration with Uncommon and online sneaker retailer SneakerSt. provide a “window” into something a bit more creative. Using the convenient placement of the Air units of the Air Max 90 and Air Jordan VI, the designers of these cases have arranged the image of the shoes to coincide with the iPhone camera eye for a pretty incredible set-up. There are a couple of others to choose from (basic elephant and cement print) so check them all out below and cop them at SneakerSt.

Wanna talk ‘rare’? How about this unreleased sample of the Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared’, that was first produced during the shoe’s 2000 run and later rose to legendary status? These samples were a reprisal of the original Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared’ that MJ won his first NBA title in, only the forefoot of the midsole featured a ‘flip’ of Black and Infrared as well as an Infrared embroidery of Nike Air on the heel. Nike never did release these, and based on the uproar of flipped-midsole colors seen in 2012′s Air Jordan VI ‘Olympic’, perhaps leaving it as the original was the best course of action. What has resulted is perhaps one of the rarest Air Jordan collectibles around, so peep the gallery if you’re not familiar with these and check out the listing from lilshk54321 on eBay.

The old “Where are you Yeezy?” is a question pretty much nobody is asking at the moment, as his current trip to London with newfound fling Kim Kardashian has been buzzing on the blogs since they landed across the pond. Of course his outfits have people talking as usual as well, and while certain elements remain a constant (the all black look, those waxed jeans again) his sneaker game has been switching up, most notably with the Nike Air Flight ’89 earlier this week. This time around he takes it back to a classic, one of those models we’ll always associate with ‘Ye no matter how many high fashion collabos or personal Nike models he gets: the black version of the Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared’. Stay with us after the jump for more shots of Mister West in the Air Jordan VI that come with a little extra heat in the form of Kim in there as well. Photos: Daily Mail

The Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared’ has been a trending topic here on Sneaker News, as we now get a look at hip-hop star J. Cole wearing the 2010 Retro release during his appearance at the 2011 BET Awards Nominees Announcement event. Just yesterday we saw UK-based rapper Tinie Tempah wear the Black colorway from the Infrared Pack, and prior to that, we showed you the unreleased 2000 Sample version of the Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared’, which featured the scorching hot red pigment used on the majority of the midsole as well as on the Nike Air stitching on the heel. J. Cole’s no stranger to Air Jordans either, because we’ve seen him rock Jays plenty of times (the most recent being the Black/Cement III just two weeks ago). Check out j. Cole’s sneakers below and let us know what you think.
