Jordan Brand’s current 23rd Anniversary has fallen upon his first championship silhouette in the Air Jordan 6, meaning that JB has been celebrating both occasions simultaneously with releases like the Champagne and Cigar Pack. Based on last year’s release slate of the Air Jordan 5, which saw close to twelve different colorways, we can only expect Mike’s sixth signature to match that quota. The sneaker is already well on its way, it’s just a matter of which pair you’re saving up for; the Air Jordan 6 “Sport Blue” will debut for the first time since hitting retailers in 1991, as a clean white base contrasts the black and royal blue accents throughout, while the Air Jordan 6 “Black/Infrared” will make for a return on Black Friday. Which retro Air Jordan 6 pair do you prefer? Stick with us after the click for a better view of each upcoming Jumpman release and stay tuned for more news right here on Sneaker News.

The big question with this year’s Air Jordan 6 “Black/Infrared” has to do with the exact shade of the red sections used on the sneakers. This has been a topic of debate since the last time we saw the sneakers show up in the pack set up in 2010 of course, and you’ll see the debate play out on this site and others ahead of their Black Friday release. For those unsure about what the fuss is, it’s the shade of the “Infrared” on the midsole, which to some is just right, and to others is too far off from the original. How does this set look? Tell us after you check the latest on this exciting Air Jordan 6 below.

We all knew the Air Jordan 6 “Black/Infrared” was going to return in 2014, and we had an inkling that Black Friday would be the day to get them. But what’s surprising about this upcoming Retro release is that the shoes will feature the original reflective underlayer that lies beneath the black suede upper, revealed only through the perforated panels. Those who own an a 2000 Nike Air Retro, or even a 2010 Infrared Pack Retro know that this detail is a welcome surprise, but the rest of the shoe looks fairly on point in terms of materials. Check out this closer look at the Air Jordan 6 “Black/Infrared” below and stay tuned for more updates as we approach the November 28th release.

This year’s Air Jordan 6 “Black/Infrared” will indeed feature the reflective touch in the upper’s perforations. The Air Jordan 6 “Black/Infrared” will release on November 28th, 2014. The sneaker had long been rumored as this year’s Black Friday pair of Air Jordans, and this latest bit of information confirms that. What’s a little disheartening is the price attached – it appears that the pair will cost you $185 when they show up in November. Early photos of them, like the set gathered here, seem to depict the 3M treatment beneath the holes that was missing from previous retro releases, but it’s difficult to tell if they’ve really got that flash. See some more quick shots of the 2014 Air Jordan 6 “Black/Infrared” and prepare yourself for the long wait ahead.

air jordan 6 23rd anniversary Air Jordan 6 23rd Anniversary

Each year, Jordan Brand hones in on one particular Air Jordan model – specifically, the shoe celebrating a 23rd Anniversary. This year, its the Air Jordan VI that’s front and center, but for the first time, the brand is creating a special edition shoe just for that occasion. U.S. goal keeper Tim Howard just showed off the Air Jordan 6 “23rd Anniversary”, which features a full reflective upper, speckling on the midsole, and what appears to be red accents on the heel spoiler. Howard states that just thirty pairs were made and the shoes are strictly a Friends and Family release, but not to worry – there are plenty of AJ6 releases coming the rest of the year. Your thoughts on an all-reflective Air Jordan 6? Give us a memo in the Comments section.
