Back in August, NBA superstar, Team USA leader, and Jordan Brand athlete Chris Paul showed off a bit of hardware after his fellow American ballers pulled out the Gold during the London Olympics. We’re not talking about the actual Gold Medal, but this sick PE of the Air Jordan VII dubbed the Air Jordan VII ‘Olympic Gold Medal’. It featured the OG Air Jordan colorway with a lustrous gold piping on the upper, giving these ’92 classics a 2012 appeal. A closer look at the detail reveals some horizontal bold-stripe accents on the forefoot and small stars sprinkled by the heel/ankle of the shoe – both of which are featured in these customs by Dank. With nearly every original Air Jordan already gone through the Retro cycle (with a few making several comebacks), the available options to build your Air Jordan collection could keep you busy for months – or you can cop this sick 97-pair collection in one fell swoop. Superheros continue to be one of the most popular muses in the world of custom sneakers. Sekure D has been concerned with a group of dudes more in the graphic-novel world than the comic book one as of late: The Watchmen. A little bit spaced out from the rest of his work in the same vein is this Air Jordan VII ‘Ozymandias’ after that scheming fellow also known as Adrian Veidt. Sneakerheads are taking over the NBA! This past weekend was filled with awesome kicks, like DeMar DeRozan’s Air Jordan XIII ‘Altitude’, Nate Robinson’s Air Jordan VII ‘Hare’, Michael Beasley’s Raptor VII, and Derrick William’s LeBron 9 ‘China’. The newly-branded Jordan athletes whipped out their Retros, with Westbrook rocking the Obsidian XII and Blake wearing Concords on Veterans Day. LeBron wore his Black/Red/White PE of the X while D-Wade wore a blue/red/white PE of his Way of Wade. Move over Nate Robinson, Monta Ellis, Paul George, etc., because it looks like we another candidate in the early battle for NBA Feet supremacy. Michael Beasley’s been spotted in some noteworthy kicks before, but during last night’s contest against Jordan-owned Charlotte, Beasley whipped out the 2006 Retro release of the Air Jordan VII commonly referred to as “Flint”. The perfect hints of purple matches the PHX unis to a tee, so it’s clear that his on-court selection was calculated to some degree!
