20 years ago, Michael Jordan sealed his first ‘Golden Moment’ of his NBA career by winning the top prize at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. Earlier today, Team USA repeated that feat as they defeated Spain in a competitive Gold Medal final, and it appears that Jordan Brand had some goodies in store for their athletes. Here’s a look at a sick Air Jordan VII ‘Olympic’ re-done with a luxurious golden trim on the upper, replacing the silver detailing seen on the original. There’s no getting around it-the Air Jordan retros included in this weekend’s J2K pack are about as far from typical as you can get. With that being said, among the Air Jordan VII’s in the group the Obsidian pair does grab on to a color that’s been used plenty of times before for its triangle patch upper. The Air Jordan VII ‘J2K’ shown here on the other hand does not, utilizing filbert, a sort of beige gummy look to coat the upper. Which pair are you after more? The final third of the calendar year is going to start off with a bang, as the Air Jordan VII in the original Black/True Red-Dark Charcoal-Club Purple will hit Jordan Brand retailers at the first of the month this September. Even if you copped the 2009 release of the Air Jordan VII Defining Moments Package, these have that tonal pitch-black upper that is more akin to the 1992 Original and 2002 Retro.
