One of the biggest attractions at Nike DC that opened last October is this amazing display of Air Jordans done up in classic Georgetown Hoyas colors. Located on the top-most floor, this great display stands opposite of the Jordan section, giving customers an exclusive museum-like exhibit alongside the retail experience. While we were in-store for the Nike KD VI iD preview session, we took a quick moment to snap some photos of this legacy of Air Jordans inspired by the basketball powerhouse school located just minutes away. Luckily, after visiting Nike DC, we stopped by Georgetown University to chat with legendary hoops coach John Thompson and his son John Thompson Jr., who is currently the Hoyas head coach. Check out the gallery of each individual Air Jordan from the set and let us know which you like best.

air jordan vii golden moments olympic tongue sample Air Jordan VII Golden Moments Unreleased Olympic Tongue Sample

The Air Jordan VII “Golden Moments” that came out last year was a sneaker celebrating Michael Jordan’s performance at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. The sneakers actually ended up pretty covert as far as any USA detailing was concerned though, as just the insole sported the red/white/blue combination. This alternate, sample version has a little bit more of that coloring, as the tongue dons just a bit of white and blue. Continue reading for a complete look at the shoes, tell us if they top the retail version, then check out the price on this Air Jordan VII from thecoolshoeshine on eBay.

air jordan vii hare jordan autograph Air Jordan VII Retro Hare Michael Jordan Autographed Pair on eBay

How long will it be before we see the Air Jordan VII again? In past times we’d expect the sneaker to stay away for a good four years or so, but we’re in a totally different climate for 2013. The shoe was last on shelves in 2011, so we wouldn’t be surprised if it came back around as soon as next year. We also wouldn’t be surprised to see the “Hare” Air Jordan VII among them. Shown here is a pair that came packaged in the CDP set up, one that was subsequently made all the more covetous thanks to the presence of Michael Jordan’s autograph. Get more angles on the pair after the jump and then bid on this Air Jordan VII “Hare” version blessed by MJ from kick_culture on eBay.

Air Jordan VII – Unreleased Tan/Purple Sample

air jordan vii original grey purple sample Air Jordan VII Unreleased Tan/Purple Sample

There’s another Air Jordan VII colorway to add to the massive amounts of unreleased Jordans floating around out there. That would be the one pictured above, a tan/purple combination that almost gives off an early ACG vibe. The lighting seems to be obscuring the colors just a bit here, as the user who threw up the photo calls them “PB&J”, suggesting that there’s a very tan tone being paired with the purple up above. The sample is one of those “friend of a friend” type things, with the original owner apparently being a long time Nike employee who currently serves as the VP for Nike Football in Amsterdam. Continue reading to see the unreleased Air Jordan VII, which may or may not be an OG, and let us know if in the comments if you’ve ever heard or seen of this sneaker.

air jordan unreleased samples through the years Unreleased Air Jordan Samples Through The Years

Over the years we’ve seen some amazing (and questionable) colorways of Air Jordans and Air Jordan Retros surface on the web. In fact, there might be as many unreleased mock-ups as there are produced versions, but who knows what’s really stowed in the deep dark vaults inside the Jordan Brand headquarters and overseas factories? We’ve compiled a fairly thorough gallery of some notable Air Jordan sample colorways that have never seen the light of day at retail; some of these already have noted legends behind them, like the Air Jordan VI “Infrared” Retro with the flipped midsole and the Air Jordan V “Gold” that may or may not have been made for an employee, but some of the stuff we’ve come across cause us to question why the shoes were never released, or why they were created in the first place! Of course, this gallery isn’t a complete list of every unreleased sample, but take a moment to skim through the gallery below and let us know which unreleased Air Jordan sample catches your eyes the most.
