AIR JORDAN VIII The Air Jordan VIII is Michael Jordan’s eighth signature sneaker with Nike, designed by Tinker Hatfield and worn by Michael as he clenched his third Championship with the Chicago Bulls in 1993. The most popular Air Jordan VIII colorway remains the ‘Aqua’, as debuted by Jordan in the 1993 NBA All-Star game.

Are we seeing a changing of the tides over in Europe? We’ll make it very clear and say that our Euro sneakerhead compatriots were always well-versed on Jays and such, but these events have always been dominated by Trainers (or running shoes) with Jordans being a relative rarity compared the runners. This event recap at Sneakerness Zurich 2013 reveals a larger crop of Air Jordans than what we normally expect, with tables of rare Retros and a sick glass-protected display of incredible originals, like the trio of Ones and other attractive releases. Check out the recap of Sneakerness Zurich below to get a feel for this latest Euro event and head on over to eukicks for larger coverage.

It’s only getting more and more difficult to pick up original Air Jordan pairs. As the number of Air Jordan collectors grows every year, the set number of vintage sneakers from the line continue to get snatched up, passed around, and un-deadstocked. Which is why this group is such a crazy opporunity if you’ve got the cash to make it happen. Shown is a group of OG Air Jordans in various conditions, including the Air Jordan 1, Air Jordan VI, Air Jordan VII, Air Jordan VIII, Air Jordan IX, Air Jordan X, Air Jordan XI, Air Jordan XII, and the Air Jordan XIII. Take a look at all the pairs rounded up in the group after the jump, then take a look at the auction to purchase them from quentinours on eBay.

Jordan Brand’s pretty much re-releasing the entire Collezione Package it seems, because this April 2013 release of the Air Jordan VIII ‘Bugs’ was indeed part of that Collezione Set that was paired with the Air Jordan XV. This classic from the original days was popularized not by MJ, but by the cartoon Bugs Bunny who wore this great sneaker during the Space Jam film (thus, the name). We’ll be sure to hit you with an official release date of the Air Jordan VIII ‘Bugs’ once it arrives, so in the meantime, enjoy this detailed gallery below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for all your Air Jordan updates and news.

If you haven’t seen the movie “Space Jam”, we highly recommend it. In fact, it’s probably listed somewhere on an IMDB list of “must-watch movies for sneakerheads”, joining Spike Lee’s “He Got Game” and “Do The Right Thing”, “Blue Chips” starring Shaq, Penny, and a slew of other young stars from the mid-90′s, and more. These Air Jordan VIII ’Bugs’ are one of the select few that has achieved its nickname from a film, but Jordan did some damage in them as well when he wore them briefly during the second half of the ’92-’93 season. A fresh new gallery of these AJ8s is just below so take a look and let us know what your favorite “sneaker” movie is.

Once again the model in question adheres to the black leather formula up top, but actually lets some other texture slip in through the classic chenille tongue badge. The Air Jordan 1 will be dressing up in accents borrowed from a couple separate Air Jordan legacy series silos for 2013. There’s the Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97, inspired by the Air Jordan XIII, and there’s the Air Jordan 1 version here that riffs off the Air Jordan VIII. This one does so with the ‘Bugs’ colorway that’s about to be brought back on the Air Jordan VIII proper. Continue reading for the full look at this pair and stick with Sneaker News to find out if the Air Jordan 1 + VIII hybrid is going to make it past the sample stage or not.
