So far, the Air Jordan 10 “Chicago” is the only remastered Jordan for 2015 that features an original colorway. The pair is still considered a pretty sacred one, as they’ve only seen the retro light once before. This upcoming version will differentiate itself from that 2012 edition both by means of the remastered shape and the “45″ stitching that shows up around the collar, the latter being borrowed from MJ’s PE version of the shoe. View the hi-res imagery for this pair of Air Jordan 10s for next year after the break and stay tuned for release date info from Sneaker News.

We recently learned of a brand new initiative by Jordan Brand in which the label will move forward with “remastering” its Retro footwear beginning Spring 2015. To put it shortly, Jordan Brand is looking to improve upon its legacy product by keeping things as close to “OG” as possible, with materials, stitch methods, and much more comprising this effort. Here’s a look at five Air Jordan Retro releases that are confirmed for 2015; this group includes the Air Jordan 10 “Chicago” with the famed “45″ PE embroidery, a brand new Air Jordan 10, the Air Jordan 4 “Oreo”, the Air Jordan 4 “Columbia”, and the Air Jordan 7 “French Blue”. Release dates aren’t set just yet, but these are indeed confirmed for 2015 as part of this remastered line. Stay tuned for more info on these 2015 Jordan Releases and let us know what you think.

How Michael Jordan’s Retirement and Comeback Affected The Air Jordan Line

March 19th, 2014 by | 6 comments

michael jordan comeback 1995 How Michael Jordans Retirement and Comeback Affected The Air Jordan Line

There’s no denying that the actions of such a powerful individual affects more than the individual. With Jordan leaving the game, NBA ratings fell, a powerhouse dynasty franchise was denied the title of being the greatest ever, and the rapid momentum of a powerful signature sneaker line was put to a halt. At the time, there was no sign that Mike would return to the hardwood. After all, during his retirement announcement, he had said that he no longer felt a challenge with the game of basketball, having won three Championships in a row. That left a number of entities scrambling for secondary plans of action, and while the Jordan-less era was still respectable in its own right, it was evident that things would no longer be the same.

rip hamilton shows off latest air jordan pick ups 1 Rip Hamilton Shows Off Latest Air Jordan Pick Ups

Richard Hamilton is one of a few players left in the NBA active during Michael Jordan’s tenure with the Washington Wizards, and one of only three to have played with him there (winning NCAA and NBA championships is also quite rare).  Rip’s Jumpman connection goes back even further to his days at UConn (and presumably all the way back to Coatesville).  So while it might be a bit easier for him to pull a few strings, he’s still just like us in being proud of new pairs.  Here we see the Chicago sharpshooter showing off two fresh Air Jordan 1 Retro High OGs, the forthcoming ‘Grape’ Vs and a new color of the Retro 1 ’93 that despite photo filters appears to be an orange-laced silvery style.  Hamilton also got playful in matching a slightly older release in the ‘Chicago’ Xs to the Bulls logo, so check out all these shots below and let us know which of these you also copped.

Sneaker News Top 30 of 2012

sneakernews top 30 2012 1a Sneaker News Top 30 of 2012

For better or worse, 2012 was a defining year for the sneaker world and all that it encompasses. It was a year that saw certain shoes throw the laws of supply and demand so out of whack, that brands and retailers had to completely rethink the way they sell shoes to the public just to keep the peace. If you were willing to put in some legwork or, better yet, had the right connections, it was a banner year for sneaker enthusiasts. “Must-have” releases seemed to be at an all-time high and nearly every weekend offered up some sort of temptation for consumers. 2012 saw the release of some of the most eagerly anticipated and passionately sought-after sneakers the game had ever seen and it’s safe to say that things will never be the same again.

In between those, there were plenty of other desirable targets along the way, from the special limited editions and collaborations to beloved Retro returns and promising new designs and innovations. There were even a few certified sleeper hits that organically carved out their place among the year’s best releases. Due to an exponentially expanding consumer base and a heightened level of product awareness, you might not have been able to get your hands on every shoe you hunted for in 2012, but there was certainly no shortage of solid alternatives ripe for the picking in their absence.
