Our mid-week coverage of NBA Feet continues with this nice collection of sneaker sightings from the games of the last two nights. Some of Monday’s highlights included the ‘twinsies’ of the Air Jordan XIII ‘Playoffs’, worn by Nate Robinson and Monta Ellis, followed by the Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’ once again by Rockets guard Courtney Lee. Delonte West of the Dallas Mavericks wore the Nike Air Penny III HoH Exclusive in the rip-stop material, but the best Air Penny sighting of the last two days was Earl Clarks’ Nike Air Max Penny 1. The first Nike Zoom Kobe VII iD kicks surfaced on the feet of Hakim Warrick and Amir Johnson (both opting for the ‘Attack Fast’ option). Another great weekend of NBA sports was filled out by the collection of NBA games that went down from Friday to Sunday, and mixed in was a ton of great NBA Feet action from some common names that have popped up this season. Monta Ellis brought something new to his repertoire by wearing the Air Jordan XIII ‘Flint’, while Washington’s Jordan Crawford continued his Air Jordan VII agenda by wearing the Air Jordan VII ‘Cardinal’. In Miami, LeBron wore the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Freegums’ while Courtney Lee of the Houston Rockets whipped out the fresh Retro release of the week – the Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’. Deron Williams of the New Jersey Nets also introduced the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Low, set for a debut this February. Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’ – Release Reminder

January 20th, 2012 by | 75 comments

air jordan x chicago rr 1 Air Jordan X Chicago Release Reminder

With so many Retro releases occurring over the last few years combined with the future horizon of the Air Jordan, we as consumers are quick to forget that each Air Jordan shoe tells a story of Michael’s past that has shaped his own legacy and the future of the National Basketball Association. The truth is, tomorrow’s Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’ is one of the last remaining ‘un-touched’ original Air Jordans, but seventeen years is enough time for these to make a return. For those uncertain of the rich plot behind the Chicago X, here’s a reminder; after being away from the NBA for eighteen months, Michael had the itch for competition and returned to the Bulls roster in time for a game against the Indiana Pacers – while wearing the Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’. If you’re uncertain about picking these up tomorrow, these new images may sway your decision, so check out the gallery below and look out for these tomorrow at Jordan Brand retailers or from soleoriginal on eBay.

Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’ – OG vs. Retro Comparison

January 18th, 2012 by | 101 comments

air jordan x chicago og vs retro comparison Air Jordan X Chicago OG vs. Retro Comparison

Understated in design yet overflowing with personality, the Air Jordan X was the first Air Jordan designed during MJ’s full retirement (the Air Jordan IX was a work in progress when Michael was still rockin’ the VIII). The Air Jordan X design is rather subdued compared to the Air Jordans that bookend that saga; the IX featured a distinct pattern of perforations with the ‘global’ effect, while the Air Jordan XI, as we all know, was catapulted to a higher level with the patent leather shine. The X, featured simpler lines and clean leather uppers, but it was the outsole that told Michael Jordan’s story in a more straightforward manner than any other Air Jordan. With the return of the Chicago happening in just a few days, the folks at Kicksquad put together this neat side-by-side comparison of the 2012 Retro and the rare original from ’95; you can clearly see the differences from OG and re-issue, like the the obvious logo branding on the insole, the tongue, and of course, the inner lining. Check out the nice side-by-side clicks below and let us know if the Chicago X Retro is a must-have for you.

Air Jordan X Retro ‘Chicago’ – Official Images

Sneaker News just revealed the Air Jordan X release date for the GS-sized white, black, Violet Pop and Cyber edition, but how much do you want to bet they’re not the biggest drop on Saturday, January 21st? They won’t even be the most significant Jordan Brand sneaker, much less the most hotly anticipated AJX hitting retailers next Saturday, because that’s also when we’ll be getting one of the originals, and the pair from which that kiddie version borrows its blocking pattern. The Air Jordan 10 Retro ‘Chicago’ is unlike Michael Jordan upon his return to the NBA in that they haven’t lost a step since that 1994-95 season that marked MJ’s return from baseball. Think back to the ‘Concord’ AJXI just before Christmas and the ‘Last Shot’ XIVs only a couple weeks before that and we’re looking at a stretch of releases that highlights some of the most intense ups and downs from Mike’s second stint in Chi-town, and you can see more angles on this all-time great when you click the jump below.
