Tinker Hatfield decided to use the Air Jordan X as an homage to Michael Jordan’s career to that point. One of the more prominent details of the tenth Air Jordan shoe is actually the outsole, which features a list of Michael’s career achievements in chronological order, starting with his Rookie Of The Year award in 1985 to the three straight MVP/Championships in 91, 92, and 93. If Tinker were to create another shoe pointing out Michael’s all-time achievements, what would be added? How about “2003 – 40 points at 40″ or “2010 – Team Owner”? Here’s a detailed look at the upcoming Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’, slated for a January 2012 release; likely to be one of the best retro releases of 2012, the Chicago X is one to watch on Sneaker News. It’s not shocking that the new grey/white/neon or 2005-retro in V.Red and Steel Grey Air Jordan X Retros previewed in recent months are lacking embroidery detailing on their lateral ankles, but a recent Old Royal revelation with ’23′ on its sides has us remembering previous samples of this‘Chicago’ colorway. That’s the interesting thing about the Tens; on the surface they’re one of the simplest of all the Air Jordan Legacy, but this one particular model has room for a variety of expressions. From the embroidery to the re-reversed Jumpman on this pair appearing in red instead of the original’s backwards black, keen-eyed sneakerheads will be able to determine an AJX’s vintage on the spot thanks to these small changes. This is one that never said ‘NIKE AIR’ in the first place; are the differences subtle enough to stay true to the OGs? Have a closer look after the jump and stick with Sneaker News so we can get you the exact US release date for this January 2011 drop. via Kicks-lab

From a Jordan Brand hybrid we expect later in 2011 to one of the biggest retro releases confirmed for next year, here’s a look at the Air Jordan X Retro ‘Chicago’. This model gets its name from the home colorway on a model year that saw colorways issued to match a series of NBA teams (also referred to by their respective cities). Sample images of these joints had featured the classic mid’90s handstyle ’23′ and ’45′ embroidery in alternate versions; is this pristine white leather final result better than the ‘period piece’ look? Decide for yourself after looking at more images after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for the exact Air Jordan 10 ‘Chicago’ release date, currently slated for January ’12. via Air-Randy

“I’m back,” he faxed, and we all went completely nuts. Michael Jordan returned to the NBA in the spring of 1995 after a meh-filled tenure in the Chicago White Sox’ farm system and basketball fans could not have been happier after having endured an NBA Finals the previous year where the main attraction was arguably a white SUV driving down the highway thousands of miles from the arena. As you’d know from first hand experience if you’ve ever played both games, it takes some time to get back into basketball shape after playing baseball all summer, and perhaps MJ himself was aware of this, as he came back in the unfamiliar ’45′ that graced his Birmingham Barons jerseys.
A new twist some sixteen years later, as the Air Jordan X Retro ‘Chicago’ that has been depicted in sample images alternately with the funky’23′ or ’45′ emrbroidery now appears to more closely reflect the original with simple white leather on the uppers of a silhouette you may have first come to appreciate on the CMFT Max Air 10s. These are part of Jordan Brand’s plan for starting 2012 off with a bang, and you can see more of this January ’12 drop after the jump. Let us know if they’re better with or without the embroidery, and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date. via SH

Earlier today Sneaker News confirmed the release of the Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’ – the White/Black/Red classic Bulls colorway of the tenth Air Jordan signature shoe. We alluded to the fact that the upper would feature Michael’s trademark number ’23′ stitched by the ankle, so here’s a first look at the Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’, slated for a January 2012 release. The upper is completely white, and is paired with a black lace placket and a black/red outsole (note that the OG had a black midsole – these are a sample and the final version may very well be different). Are these a must-have for you? Check back with Sneaker News for more updates on this highly anticipated release and take a look at the extra shot below. via yotecity.

Michael Jordan suddenly announced his return to the NBA on March 18, 1995, and quickly inserted himself into the next game on March 19th against the Indiana Pacers. During that ‘Welcome Back’ game, Michael wore the White/Black-True Red colorway of the Air Jordan X, one that is often regarded as the ‘Chicago’ colorway. Aside from the obvious color coordination with the Bulls uniforms, the ‘Chicago’ was actually part of the Air Jordan X City Series, which featured the tenth Air Jordan shoe in city-specific colorways like New York, Sacramento, and Seattle. In 2009, notice of a Retro release (as part of the Air Jordan Collezione 10/13 package) had sneakerheads excited for a possible future return of the shoe, and during the Spring 2012 season, you can welcome back the Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’ with open arms. These are slated for a release during the early part of the Spring 2012 season (January being the tentative month) with ’23′ stitched on the upper and the black/red checkerboard pattern on the inner lining. Excited? Let us know if you’ve been waiting for these.
