Is February the Hottest Month Ever for sneakers? Foot Locker is locked and loaded with all of this month’s sickest releases, like the Air Jordan IV White/Cement, Air Jordan X ‘Old Royal’, the Air Foamposite One ‘Metallic Red’ and much, much more. To kick off this insane month of footwear releases, Foot Locker invited a select group of media to participate in the unveiling of the #HottestMonthEver collection, but before the shoes were presented, a special warm-up even was held on the Madison Square Garden floor! The entire group was split into two squads (one Nike, wearing the LeBron 9 Freegums and Kobe VII ‘Concord’, another adidas, rocking the adiZero Rose 2.0 and 2.5) and faced off with former Knickerbocker legends acting as head coaches for both teams. After two halves of play, a special event space was set up, placing a spotlight on February’s mammoth sneaker drops. We’ve got a look at this February’s upcoming releases at Foot Locker below, so don’t forget to join Foot Locker VIP for inside info on kicks and some exclusive deals!

Orlando? Dallas? What city would you designate the ‘Old Royal’ if it was inducted into the famed Air Jordan X ‘City Series’? Although no true regional ties exist, the ‘City Series’ will always pop up in discussion, and with the Air Jordan X ‘Old Royal’ owning such a simple ‘team’-like colorway, it wouldn’t be a terrible addition to that group. The simple Blue/White color will match easily with most uniforms, so count on dudes like Quentin Richardson of the Magic, Monta Ellis of the Warriors, and maybe Jared Jeffries of the Knicks to whip out the ‘Old Royal’ colorway this season, and get your own when these release at Jordan Brand retailers like Millenium Shoes on Saturday, February 11th.

Early 2012′s exploration of the shoe Michael Jordan wore for only a small portion of a regular season and his ‘lost’ playoff campaign, and following the release of an OG and a new GS colorup this past weekend, we have a look at another new look. The Air Jordan 10 ‘Old Royal’ is indeed mostly white just like the ‘Chicago’ Retro that just dropped, but the application of patent leather on the mudguard along with contrasting eyelets and a differently blocked midsole makes for a totally different approach, not to mention the considerably cooler color palette. Check these out in official images from Jordan Brand after the jump and find them in stores on Saturday, February 11th.

Is ‘Old Royal’ the new ‘it’ colorway for the Jordan Brand line? Thus far, the Air Jordan X, Jordan CMFT Air Max 10, and now the Jordan X Auto Clave will feature this slick combination of White and Old Royal, so the question is – What other Air Jordan shoe will this colorway look great on? The Air Jordan XI? How about an Air Jordan IV ‘Old Royal’? It’s a simple tandem of colors that exudes that collegiate flavor (it’s pretty much a ‘Kentucky’ colorway, but we all know UK is a LeBron-outfitted squad), giving the Jordan X Auto Clave a nice sporty flavor after the more lifestyle inspired tonal January 2012 releases. More angles await you below, so take a look and let us know what you think.

Are three pairs enough for you sneaker-hungry fiends? You can expect the OG Chicago, the recently trending ‘Stealth’, and the all-new Old Royal during the Spring 2012 season, all of which would be great addition to a budding Air Jordan X stash. Not counting the ‘Shadow’ release from 2008, we haven’t seen a mass wave of Air Jordan X retros since 2005, when a number of new colorways were introduced. The ‘Old Royal’ has received warm reception thus far, with the new mesh material and patent leather mudguard providing a fresh take on the sixteen-year-old model. Will you cop the Old Royals? After taking a look at this intensely detailed set of images, it sure will be tough to say no. Take a look below and let us know if these are a must-have for you. via kickz-lab.

The ‘Old Royal’ colorway of the Air Jordan X has been one of the more popular topics of discussion here on Sneaker News for several reasons. Not only does it mark the first new Retro+ colorway of the Air Jordan X, but it also boasts a significant difference from previous Air Jordan X Retro releases – the mesh material used as the base-layer of the lace placket. Many seem to have expressed a desire for leather instead of mesh, but it appears that it will be a common feature for upcoming Air Jordan X retros, as seen on the White/Violet GS release. The ‘Old Royal’ will follow the drop of the ‘Chicago’ colorway, which does in fact use leather in the area of note, so do you think these are a ‘worthy’ follow-up to that long-awaited original? Check out the new images below and cop this size 9 sample now from el-store on eBay.

Earlier this morning, Sneaker News showed you a video preview showing, among other notable early 2012 releases, the Air Jordan X ‘Old Royal’. Let’s take a closer look now at this colorway that has the feel of an original thanks to similarities to memorable releases like the True and Military Blue IIIs and IVs. But unlike those old favorites, this is a brand new drop for next year, and one of what could turn out to be a bunch of AJ10s over the course of those twelve months; how does a schedule like ‘Chicagos’ for January and ‘Old Royals’ for February sound to you? Check them out in additional images after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for all Air Jordan release dates. via MarqueeSole

His YouTube subscribers probably noticed that it’s been over two months since notable sneaker unboxer SneakGeekz has popped up with a new video, but if there was ever a way to come back with a bang, boy was it this. SG came through with a look into the future by way of a number of early 2012′s most significant releases already in hand. He inspects the packaging and then pops out the Air Jordan X ‘Old Royal’ and ‘Bordeaux’ Jordan Spiz’ike before moving into Nike Sportswear and its ‘Metallic Red’ and ‘Electrolime’ Air Foamposite Ones. Perhaps the most intriguing part of the whole thing is how good the mostly tonal-grey Spizikes look under the everyday lighting conditions at SneakGeekz’ house; is their appearance strong enough to put aside the debate surrounding their nickname? Have a look for yourself at the video after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates on all the upcoming Foamposite and Air Jordan release dates.
