One of the more inconsistent details in the entire Air Jordan OG and Retro catalog is the “23″ embroidery that has popped up on select models. The Air Jordan V and X are the two that can’t seem to get any sort of rhyme down in terms of adding or omitting the ’23′ stitching on the heel, but we do see that last year’s Spring 2012 release of the Air Jordan X “Stealth” potentially had it in the works. In addition to the “23″, this unreleased sample also shows grey lace eyelets instead of the black used in the release version, which provides even more contrast. So, what’s your verdict? This sample, or the one that hit stores? Check out the this rare look below courtesy of jesusisbackintown on eBay.

The subject of a recent ‘On the Fence’ feature, the Air Jordan 10 ‘Stealth’ has exceeded expectations during the past few months that’ve been more filled with huge releases than many entire years gone by. Maybe it’s because they hit on this season’s key palette, or maybe the desire for Air Jordan 10 Retros has been quietly building since the 2005s, but more likely a combination of these reasons that explain how this one has been able to move so swiftly. If you missed out on the first run of them, you’re in luck, as Finish Line has restocked nearly all sizes so there are more available in addition to the pairs currently listed on eBay.

Looks like we’ve got a tight battle for best kicks of the last two nights! Monta Ellis went on repeat mode, but kept it fiery with the Air Jordan XI ‘Bred’, but up-and-comer Delonte West caught our attention by wearing the Nike Air Flight One in the ‘Orlando’ colorway. Kendrick Perkins’ Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’ deserves some attention, as does Gilbert Arenas’ back-to-back Air Jordan showing of the Old Royal X and the Air Jordan IX ‘For The Love Of The Game’. A blue-based jersey seems to follow Gilbert wherever he lands, but that’s only good news because we know what he’s capable of putting out when rocking those colors! Check out the best sneakers from the last two nights and let us know who takes the cake! via espn

Our third ‘On The Fence’ feature of March focuses on the Air Jordan X ‘Stealth’ – a remixed colorway that shuffles the color-palette of the Air Jordan X ‘Steel’ while using nubuck uppers on a white outsole. While this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a predominantly black Air Jordan with grey and white hints (in fact, the Air Jordan VIII Black/Chrome is doing just fine in our Sneaker News March Madness Tournament), it’s definitely something new to the Air Jordan X. Nubuck on an Air Jordan X has never been done, although we have seen patent leather on the Old Royals and even the one-piece leather joints on those unreleased samples of the mid-2000′s. So while the Air Jordan X doesn’t necessarily grab the old-time factor of the Air Jordan X as it dabbles with colorways and materials that we are unfamiliar with, does that make these a ‘pass’? Or is this fresh take on the rejuvenated Air Jordan X too irresistible? Let us know what side of the fence you fall on below and if you’re already certain about your decision, grab one of the available pairs on eBay.

The final Air Jordan Retro release of the Spring 2012 season is upon us, as this Saturday’s nationwide drop of the Air Jordan X ‘Stealth’ will cap off a great three-month span of releases that included the Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’ and Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’. The ‘Stealth’ mixed a simple combo of black, grey, and white, but introduces nubuck to the Air Jordan X heritage, using the material to construct the entire upper with the familiar checkerboard interior making a welcome return. We’ve got Jordan Brand’s official product shots of this release, so take a look below and if you’ve already made up your mind about ‘em, cop a pair right now on eBay.

With the Chicago X dropping in January, the White/Cements hitting the month after, and April being the debut month for the Air Jordan XII ‘Playoffs’, March has been relatively ‘under the radar’ in terms of Air Jordan releases. Truth is, March featured not one, but two outstanding Retro releases in last weekend’s Air Jordan XIV ‘White/Red’ and next Saturday’s Air Jordan X ‘Stealth’ – two releases that might not have that attractive appeal as a major OG colorway. These new images of the Air Jordan X ‘Stealth’ suggest that these are not one to underestimate, because it’s got that great mix of Black/Grey/White seen in other beloved classics like the Air Jordan VIII and Air Jordan II. Look out for these next Saturday at retailers like WISH in Atlanta, so keep them in mind for the release next weekend, or cop a pair right now on eBay.

There’s so much heat being released this year that it’s actually getting hard to track all the high profile releases without utilizing a planner. Add in the relative ‘quiet’ built right into the name of the Air Jordan X ‘Stealth’ and you’re looking at a model that we still don’t know exactly where to pencil in. This melange of black/grey/white tones is another one of those time capsule looks for early 2012, but just how long after February’s ‘Old Royal’ we’ll have to wait remains something of a mystery. We’ve got some new images that really emphasize the contrast between the ‘Stealth’ AJ10′s various dark shades, so click through to see more and stick with Sneaker News for the release date. via HoopCity

2011 saw Jordan Brand jumping in on the Black History Month motif, but they were noticeable absent from this year’s collection. With that being said, it’s easy to imagine the Air Jordan X ‘Stealth’ pictured here as a BHM release-swap in a little gold on the detailing and you’re good to go. That’s not the case though, as these are sticking with the stealthy look that comes quite opposite to the white based trend the Air Jordan X has stuck with for 2012. Follow us after the jump for some extra shots of the upcoming Air Jordan X ‘Stealth’ and check back for info on when these will hit stores. via AGS
