This December, Jordan Brand has plans of releasing the historic “Bred” colorway of the Air Jordan XI – arguably the sneaker with the most ties to the great annals basketball in history. As Michael wore the Black/Red Air Jordan XI to an astounding season during the ’95-’96 season (his first full season since his first retirement), we witnessed that true greatness doesn’t take a break (or an extended one, at least) because much like Jordan did, the ‘Bred’ XI made a return just a few years after it was last seen. Originally part of the December 2008 Collezione release, the Air Jordan XI ‘Bred’ will now release as a single unit, but it appears that the regular Jordan Brand shoe-box will be used with the red plastic shoe trees – that is, unless the Brand has plans of switching it up to the “traditional” slide-out box we were treated to three years running. Additional angles are right ahead, so take a look and stay tuned for more on what may be the must-have Air Jordan Retro of the year. Photos: SH

Air Jordan XI “Bred” 2012 Teaser

air jordan xi bred 2012 teaser 1 Air Jordan XI Bred 2012 Teaser

It’s a fact that’s been obscured by the massive success of the last three Christmas drops and color trends surrounding each pair’s release (not to mention sixteen-plus years), but back when it entered the race as the third and final OG Air Jordan XI colorway, the prevailing sentiment was that ‘Bred’ was the best of the bunch, if not the single greatest basketball sneaker ever released. The black and red Eleven’s presence lingered longer than either of the white styles and it still ranks among the very best of all time, even if the culture shock we felt first seeing its patent leather mudguard has been adjusted by time and a renewed appreciation for some of Tinker Hatfield’s other masterpieces. And just like dudes could be seen wearing their ’96s toward the end of that decade, 2008′s Countdown Pack (not coincidentally, the most desired duo of the entire Collezione) is still a go-to style when sneakerheads dress to impress. The demand for this Christmas 2012 ‘Bred’ Air Jordan XI Retro figures to be in line with each of the previous releases, so be sure and stick with Sneaker News for updates and let us know if there’s anything on the horizon that has you equally excited. nba feet 4 4 12 NBA Feet: Around The League 4/2 4/3

Looks like we’ve got a tight battle for best kicks of the last two nights! Monta Ellis went on repeat mode, but kept it fiery with the Air Jordan XI ‘Bred’, but up-and-comer Delonte West caught our attention by wearing the Nike Air Flight One in the ‘Orlando’ colorway. Kendrick Perkins’ Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’ deserves some attention, as does Gilbert Arenas’ back-to-back Air Jordan showing of the Old Royal X and the Air Jordan IX ‘For The Love Of The Game’. A blue-based jersey seems to follow Gilbert wherever he lands, but that’s only good news because we know what he’s capable of putting out when rocking those colors! Check out the best sneakers from the last two nights and let us know who takes the cake! via espn

monta ellis air jordan breds summary NBA Feet: Monta Ellis Air Jordan XI + XIII Bred

After Monta Ellis started off the 2011-12 NBA Season wearing some Air Jordans, we’ve been keeping a keen eye on his sneaker progress and giving him the ‘Gilbert Arenas’ treatment. Although his in-game sneaker sightings cooled off as of late, Monta was again in the NBA headlines as he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, and made his introductory appearance with a major bang. As part of his debut with his new team, Monta broke out the Air Jordan XIII ‘Bred’, a sneaker that released back in 2004 and rarely makes an appearance in an NBA game, and the Air Jordan XI ‘Bred’, swapping out his kicks during half-time and completing the best NBA Feet feature of the 2011-2012 thus far. Enough with the chat – check out Monta and his sick Air Jordan ‘Breds’ below and stay tuned for even more NBA Feet because this past weekend was without question the sickest yet! via ESPN

Air Jordan XI Low Concord + Bred – ‘Six Rings’ Edition

December 26th, 2011 by | 55 comments

air jordan xi low concord bred six rings 1 Air Jordan XI Low Concord + Bred Six Rings Edition

The Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ was the unrivaled juggernaut drop of the 2011 holiday sneaker rush, and while most sneakerheads were focused on the release a few days back, this week also a brought a look at two low-cut versions of the popular model that stirred up some buzz of their own. One of the XI Lows that was previewed featured a traditional ‘Concord‘ color scheme, while the other also stuck to a tried and true formula with a tasty ‘Bred‘ version. Not much was known about the potential future of the samples, but now a little more light has been shed, along with this look at some interesting special edition versions of the shoes.

NikeTalk member, NikeDealer was lucky enough to be on the scene when two mysterious Jordan boxes showed up to the house of well-known celebrity sneakerhead, Chi McBride. The contents of the standard issue JB boxes were anything but standard, as a look inside revealed two pairs of the upcoming 2012 Air Jordan XI Lows, specially customized by the package’s senders, Tinker Hatfield and Mark Smith. Both pairs feature gold laminate graphics on the tongues displaying each of Michael Jordan’s six championship rings, along with some Bin23-ish wooden inserts inside the shoes. The six rings detailing will not appear when these go to retail, but you can probably expect to see the leather uppers replacing the usual XI mesh and the red lining instead of black on the Bred pair. No word yet on when in 2012 these will drop, but for now, take a look at Chi’s special editions and let us know what you think.
