AIR JORDAN XI CONCORD The Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ is a colorway of the eleventh Air Jordan sneaker so named for the color featured on the tongue area Jumpman and outsole of the shoe. The Air Jordan XI Concord was originally released in 1995, with subsequent retros in 2000 and 2011. While all of the original Air Jordan XI’s remain among the most coveted as far as the Air Jordan line at large is concerned, the ‘Concord’ is held in highest regard by many and has been called the greatest sneaker of all time.

Sports media outlets around the world celebrated Michael Jordan’s 50th birthday last weekend, focusing on some of the most significant moments in his career. One of the resounding conclusions made was that Jordan, at age 50, isn’t done with basketball, as he continues his feverish push for glory as owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. That same desire for winning is what brought him out of retirement in 1995, donning the iconic ’45′ jersey for the remainder of the 1995 regular season and a portion of the Playoffs.

Nike did in fact create some sample pairs of the Air Jordan XI in the White/Black-Dark Concord colorway with ’45′ on the heel-tab, but as history tells us, Jordan switched back to ’23′ during the second-round match-up against the Orlando Magic and effectively closed the book on ’45′ for good. It’s very rare to come across this Air Jordan artifact so check out the gallery of this Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ 45 Sample below and see the full listing from firstaction on eBay.

kobe bryant autograph set 1 Kobe Bryant Autographed Sneaker Showcase

Throughout the history of the NBA, no other ‘sneaker history’ is as eventful and engrossing as that of Kobe Bryant. Sure, MJ had the Air Jordan line and LeBron James is currently etching out his own legacy, but Kobe Bryant’s timeline of kicks goes up and down, left and right, covering two signature lines with two brands and a jaw-dropping load of Player Exclusives. Starting with his iconoclastic adidas The Kobe signature line, his stint rocking Nike Basketball and Air Jordan PEs, the relatively unknown period during which Kobe rocked Reebok PEs (yes, the Answer IV and the Question), and stopping at his current Nike Kobe 8 model, there’s a lot to talk about. This sick showcase of Kobe Bryant’s kicks covers a good portion of what’s been laid out, and what’s more impressive is that these shoes are not only game-worn, but also autographed. Flip through below and let us know which of the shoes featured below gets you excited the most!

worst nba players jordans 5 Complexs The 50 Worst NBA Players To Wear Air Jordans

The thought of living up to Michael Jordan’s standards is frightening, isn’t it? It would be tough to perform under the pressure of Jordan’s watchful eye (Exhibit A: Kwame Brown), and over the years, the players in the NBA who rocked Air Jordans proudly didn’t quite play on par of Jordan’s approval, with the exception of Melo, Wade, and CP3. Complex gives us a nice retrospective of NBA players who wore Air Jordans, but in a unusual spin – ranking them 1-50 from bad to worst. Not all of these guys are official Jordan Brand athletes, but fans of the sneakers that just happened to wear them in-game, but do you agree with this list of the 50 worst NBA ballers to rock Jays? Check out some of their inclusions below and let us know what you think.

Why Are Kids Getting Killed For Their Jordans?

jordans killed kids 0 Why Are Kids Getting Killed For Their Jordans?

There’s a dark cloud that hangs over the sneaker game. While the hobby is meant to unite enthusiasts and serve as a source of enjoyment for the hunters and gatherers of all things leather and laces, sometimes the burning desire takes a turn for the worse and the price of a pair of Jordans becomes a price too high to pay. It’s an unfortunate headline that we’ve seen all too often and one we’ve seen as early as two decades ago – a youngster having his life stripped from him for a pair of shiny shoes – and as mass campouts have already gathered for tomorrow’s big-ticket ‘Golden Moments’ Pack, we’re only reminded of the potential danger that may or may not go down. Sneaker Freaker goes in-depth with an editorial regarding this touchy subject, so check out their full editorial after you fill us with some of your own thoughts on this controversial issue.

Counterfeit Air Jordans Destroyed in a Chemistry Lab

July 23rd, 2012 by | 17 comments

fake jordans chemistry lab Counterfeit Air Jordans Destroyed in a Chemistry Lab

Nobody likes fake sneakers, so what do you do when you have a pair in your hands? Send it to the morgue in the most creatively appropriate way possible. Sneaker Freaker Germany helped out a couple of its readers who were unfortunately duped by fakes, sending their fake Concords and Spiz’ikes to the chemistry specialists over the University of Cologne. The fugazi pair of Concords were dipped in Liquid Nitrogen (what almost killed the T-1000 in Terminator 2: Judgement Day) for roughly half an hour, and then obliterated by a healthy hammering at the hands of the chemist. The Spiz’ikes might’ve had it a bit worse, as they were descended into a pot of Sulfuric Acid heated to a temperature of 200 degrees Celsius; the reaction was instant as the colors began to disintegrate, turning the shoes into a sloppy muck. Got some fakes in your closet that you want to get rid of? There are two great ideas here, so check out the video and let us know what you think. via Sneaker Freaker
