AIR JORDAN XI CONCORD The Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ is a colorway of the eleventh Air Jordan sneaker so named for the color featured on the tongue area Jumpman and outsole of the shoe. The Air Jordan XI Concord was originally released in 1995, with subsequent retros in 2000 and 2011. While all of the original Air Jordan XI’s remain among the most coveted as far as the Air Jordan line at large is concerned, the ‘Concord’ is held in highest regard by many and has been called the greatest sneaker of all time.

It’s safe to say they’ve been usurped from the #1-of-2011 throne by the spectacular Nike Mag, but the vast majority of the sneakerhead community couldn’t afford to compete for those ultra-limited auction releases. And now that all the hype has turned from a raging boil down to a gentle simmer, the Air Jordan XI Retro ‘Concord’ returns to the big spotlight as something like the ‘people’s champ’ of 2011. These are most certainly going to dominate the Christmas sneaker sales charts despite releasing just two days prior to the holiday when your shopping options narrow to 7-11s and Chinese buffets, a fact owing to this shoe’s groundbreaking good looks and the bar-setting performance Michael Jordan issuedwhile wearing them in 1995-96. Click through to get a good look at these new SoleAwesome pics of what’s in store less than two weeks from right now, or just skip all the mall hoopla and grab a pair early from eBay.

The day that was in danger of never happening is finally here – NBA Media Day! It’s the perfect opportunity for NBA stars to re-introduce themselves to the media and the fans, and also a first look at some familiar faces in new places. We’ll let the NBA blogs handle that drama, because we’re here to look at the kicks! Starting off, Joe Johnson of the Atlanta Hawks was rocking the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’, while Southern Conference rivals Orlando Magic forward Quentin Richardson wore his Air Jordan XIII PE in White/Royal. The Knicks frontcourt of Melo, STAT, and Tyson Chandler got together for a nice photo, while Kobe Bryant posed with veteran Derek Fisher and new coach Mike Brown. Other interesting notes: Monta Ellis, formerly with AND1, is seen wearing the Air Jordan 8.0 (that’s a great pick-up for Jumpman if he’s a full time member), and LeBron James rocking the Home/Scarface LeBron 9. There’s a lot more to see below, so take a look and get ready to kick off a season-long series of NBA Feet features! via Yahoo!.

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade were recently spotted at the Ohio State vs. Duke men’s basketball game on Tuesday night. Ohio State University, one of three schools outfitted by the Nike LeBron Basketball line, pulled out the win against perennial powerhouse Duke while wearing their LeBron 9 PEs. During the event, LeBron James was spotted wearing a pair of his own shoes, but hit the ‘rewind’ button a bit and wore the Nike LeBron 8 V/1 ‘Veterans Day’. His pal Dwyane Wade was seen wearing the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ in matching Jordan Brand apparel. Check out the extra shot of the NBA superstars after the jump and let us know which of the two NBA stars had the better kicks! via NT.

December is officially here – are you ready to roll for the biggest release of the 2011 (that isn’t the Nike Mag 2011)? The Concords have been floating in our minds all year long, especially since many made the educated guess that the Concords would be released (Breds in ’08, Space Jams in ’09, Cool Greys in ’10…). Just a few days ago, Sneaker News showed you a set of images featuring a big happy family of Concords, so for those of you with more than one set of feet to lace up, it’s both good news and bad news (your wallet will take a nice hit). This new set of visuals only add fuel to the burning fire, and the emphasized tint of blue should raise a few eyebrows (although you can attribute the photographer’s style for the deep blue tint). Check ‘em out below and let us know if you decide on copping the entire set for your family, and stick with Sneaker News for more Air Jordan Release Dates and info. via ST.

Can you feel it in the air? Cyber Monday is upon us, which typically marks the unofficial opening weekend of the chaotic Holiday shopping season. Already at the top of many ‘Want’ lists is the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’, which will release on December 23rd in full family sizes. Widely acclaimed as one of the best Air Jordans to have ever been created, Michael Jordan himself caused the buzz around the shoe when he decided to make the switch during the 1995 NBA Playoffs; even a poised Ahmad Rashad, who was roaming the court as a sideline reporter for NBC, was astonished at the unparalleled beauty of the Air Jordan XI (the first televised ‘neck-breaking’?). Well, now that you know it’ll be available in multiple tiers of sizes for your clan, does this change your shopping plans? Check out the new detailed gallery below and let us know how many of these you’ll have to cop by the Holiday. via Warped.
