AIR JORDAN XI CONCORD The Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ is a colorway of the eleventh Air Jordan sneaker so named for the color featured on the tongue area Jumpman and outsole of the shoe. The Air Jordan XI Concord was originally released in 1995, with subsequent retros in 2000 and 2011. While all of the original Air Jordan XI’s remain among the most coveted as far as the Air Jordan line at large is concerned, the ‘Concord’ is held in highest regard by many and has been called the greatest sneaker of all time.

Can you feel it in the air? Cyber Monday is upon us, which typically marks the unofficial opening weekend of the chaotic Holiday shopping season. Already at the top of many ‘Want’ lists is the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’, which will release on December 23rd in full family sizes. Widely acclaimed as one of the best Air Jordans to have ever been created, Michael Jordan himself caused the buzz around the shoe when he decided to make the switch during the 1995 NBA Playoffs; even a poised Ahmad Rashad, who was roaming the court as a sideline reporter for NBC, was astonished at the unparalleled beauty of the Air Jordan XI (the first televised ‘neck-breaking’?). Well, now that you know it’ll be available in multiple tiers of sizes for your clan, does this change your shopping plans? Check out the new detailed gallery below and let us know how many of these you’ll have to cop by the Holiday. via Warped.

The subject of uniform numbers on Air Jordan Retros is one that we’ll soon feel the impacts of directly. The AJX ‘Chicago’ had been seen with both ’23′ and ’45′ on its lateral ankles before the final version proved to be blank like the OGs, and we’ve seen the above pictured model with both of MJ’s uni numbers as well. But the big difference with the Air Jordan XI Retro ‘Concord’ is that, by the time Michael took them on in the 1995-96 season, His Airness had already switched back to his traditional number and the OGs did indeed feature ’23′ on their heels. But we’ve seen several colorways of the Eleven also done with ’45′ to commemorate the fact Mike rocked these during the ‘lost’ playoffs vs. Orlando, and now it looks like we might have had that version in store for the holidays with all the samples depicted in these new images. Would you prefer the OG ’23′ or does this retirement-number-one reminder strike you as more collectable? Dressing up in costumes and getting free candy is a dream for children, but for adults, having one day out of the year when you can act like children while getting away with shenanigans is something we all cherish. Or, if you’re not the costume type, it’s just another excuse to throw down a few extra drinks. ATL-based hip-hop artist T.I. attended the Nightmare on Piedmont Halloween Party at the Gold Room in Atlanta dressed as former Falcons QB Mike Vick. T.I. matched the Eagles’ alternate jersey with a pair of the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’. How sick would Mike Vick Air Jordan PEs be? Now that Vick is back with Nike, that scenario is unlikely. Check out extra shots of T.I. partying it up and stick with Sneaker News for more Celebrity Feet action! via EA.

When was the last time you saw Lil’ Wayne in Air Jordans? Lil’ Wayne’s taste in sneaker is undoubtedly one of the more eccentric ones out there, because in today’s age of Air Jordans and Nike Basketball, Wayne prefers low-key Vans skaters and Chucks or flamboyant Jeremy Scott creations. The last time we caught Lil’ Wayne in the Air Jordan XI was over a year ago, when he performed alongside Eminem and Drake at the 2010 Grammy Awards, and we couldn’t pass up the chance to show the New Orleans native wearing the 2011 Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ while he was attending last week’s Chris Brown concert. Check out Lil’ Wayne in the Concords below and stick with Sneaker News for more ‘Concord’ sightings as we approach the official release date in late December.

Kobe Bryant on the Zoom Kobe VI: “I want a shoe that molds to my foot.” The Air Jordan XI didn’t feature that lock-down technology for that second-skin feel, but here’s a look at a pair of Concords that WILL mold to your foot; for the Holiday 2011 season, Jordan Brand will release the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ Socks – a ‘no-show’ cut sock with the classic Air Jordan XI imagery surrounding the shoe. A ‘Cool Grey’ version actually dropped last year (rather popular in our WDYWT section), and the upcoming Concord version will most definitely a popular stocking-stuffer for the gift-giving season. Check out the extra images below and let us know if you plan on adding these to your under-garment rotation. via ryo_chi

A great regular season, a not-so-great postseason. C.C. Sabathia’s ALDS pitching performances may not have given the Yankees their their best chances of winning, but he certainly looked good out there, didn’t he? After rocking the ‘Space Jam’ cleats during Game 3, Sabathia wore the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ in cleat form during a fifth inning relief appearance, during which he allowed one run (the one run that gave the Tigers a permanent lead). The Yankees’ early elimination means we won’t get to see any more PEs from the Yankees hurdler, so lets hope another MLB player brings out some cleated heat! Check out C.C. after the jump and let us know what you think. via ESPN.

Most of the gentlemen featured in this edition of Celebrity Feet have been known to rock heat on the regular, so what happens when you get them all in the same room? Something of an arms-race it turns out, with each sneakerhead bringing out their big guns for the 2011 B.E.T. Hip Hop Awards this past weekend in Atlanta. You can make your own judgements on who came out on top based on the full set of pics after the jump, but we’re tipping our hat to the four dudes above. Amare Stoudemire showed up in his Nike Air Max Sweep Thru PE’s, Pill went for the just released Nike Air Total Foamposite Max, Big K.R.I.T. stuck with a classic in the Air Jordan XI Concord, and the ever unpredictable Soulja Boy opted for the high-end in his Louis Vuitton Dons. So much for this one as 2011′s sneaker story of the year. The Nike Mag 2011 is now a mortal lock to top all the year-end lists, its combination of longstanding anticipation, limited numbers, auction-based availability and market valuation unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. But then again, many of those qualities also apply to the first basketball shoe to feature patent leather and carbon fiber, the Air Jordan XI Retro ‘Concord’. This is the shoe Michael Jordan wore in 1995-96 when he led the Chicago Bulls to a record 72-wins, and even if it does play the Sonics to Marty McFly’s crown-snatching release, it’d take something stronger than defying the laws of physics to keep these from being the biggest Christmas season sneaker release. Click through to see more angles and if you can’t wait till the Yuletide, grab yours now from Kicks-crew.
