The Air Jordan XI was a milestone for the Air Jordan category as it was the first Air Jordan to feature a “Part 2″ of sorts (perhaps laying the groundwork for future V2/PS/Elite concepts). This low-top version of the Air Jordan XI shed the flashy patent leather and went with elephant print on the White colorway, but this unreleased sample of the Air Jordan XI IE Low from 1996 reveals a true “Cement Grey” elephant print (the released version had a lighter version) as well as a dark translucent outsole opposed to the gum version. Definitely cool to see these unreleased originals to surface randomly, so check out this unreleased sample from ’96 and see the listing from poofyo101jumpmansneakers on eBay.

The celebrities continue to come out of the woodworks from the Labor Day Weekend, as we get a look at Nelly and his Air Jordan XI IE Low from his live performance in Las Vegas. He was accompanied by former Pussycat Dolls Nicole Scherzinger, who you might remember accompanied 50 Cent and his rare appearance in Nikes (he was wearing Pewter Foams). Nelly and kicks isn’t exactly a groundbreaking new discovery, but let’s just say with Nicole at his side, it’s definitely worth the second look. Whether it’s for a backyard barbecue party with his close friends, our a four-city tour on a continent half-way around globe, NYC-native Fabolous is always laced up in some Air Jordans. During the Winterbeatz 2011 tour, which featured fellow hip-hop artists 50 Cent, Lil’ Kim, and Mario and consisted of four stops in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, Fabolous made sure his sneaker shuttle bag was stocked with Air Jordans, like the Air Jordan XIII ‘Bulls’, the Air Jordan XIV Low, and the Air Jordan XI IE Low. Celebrities gathered over the weekend in Los Angeles to celebrate the highly anticipated release of Lil’ Wayne’s fourth studio album titled ‘Tha Carter IV’. Attending the event were some of the most notable names in the hip-hop and pop-culture scene, like Rick Ross, Drake, DJ Khaled, Tyga, Ronnie from Jersey Shoe, and many more. Air Jordans and sneakers have been considered ‘proper attire’ for events like these for quite a while, which is why we spotted some great kicks during the get-together, like the Air Jordan XI Cool Grey, the Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared’ and the Nike Dunk High ‘Osaka’. The Dunks were worn by Ronnie, who displayed an impressive rotation of sneakers during filming of Jersey Shore; the Dunk High ‘Osaka’ which dropped back in 2008, is quite rare in the states, and Flight Club could very well be where Ronnie picked ‘em up because a size 10 just got snatched up from there just two weeks ago. New colorways of original Air Jordans are always subject to criticism, but Jordan Brand couldn’t have done a better job with this new White/Black-Metallic Silver colorway, set for a release later this weekend. The classic White/Black offers a simple, muted color palette to contrast with the wacky design of the Jordan XI IE Low, which features triangular vents and luxurious stitching on the upper. The bottom half of the shoe is taken right from the Air Jordan XI, featuring the classic translucent outsole an carbon-fiber spring plate at the midfoot. These are beginning to arrive at Jordan Brand retailers like Millenium Shoes so watch for these this Saturday or cop a pair now on eBay.

You may already know by now that the release of the Air Jordan XI IE Low in the White/Black-Metallic Silver colorway will go down this month, but on what day? Nearly a month after the re-release of the OG Black/Varsity Red version of this OG Air Jordan design, the new White/Black colorway will officially hit stores next Saturday on August 13th, the same day as the release of the Air Jordan 2.0 in Grey/Black/Gold. August is proving to be one of the stronger months for Jordan Brand, as we will also see the OG Black/Metallic Silver Air Jordan V hit as well as six new Air Jordan 1 High colorways hit store shelves. Last week, another White and Black pair of Air Jordan XIs caught the attention of sneakerheads around the world. The December 23rd release of the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ will be cause absolute mayhem (let’s hope a Foot Locker doesn’t get destroyed this time around), so prepare for a plethora of previews, reviews, praise, bickering, and all-around internet-friendly fun until these do in fact release two days before Christmas. Although these aren’t quite the White/Black Elevens you were hoping for, the Air Jordan XI IE Low in White/Black should be a nice buttering-up for the Concords, and such a clean colorway of one of Jordan Brands most underrated sneakers is worth a spot in your sneaker rotation. These are scheduled for an August 13th release, but have popped up just a bit early on eBay, so take a look below and cop a pair now from JBseller on eBay.

Carrying over a trademark design from on Air Jordan to another is easier said than done, unless you’re kenichi, the sneakerhead mid behind this awesome Air Jordan XI IE Low custom. He took the recently released Air Jordan XI IE Low in Black/Varsity Red and transformed it into an Air Jordan III Black/Cement-inspired motif, going all-out with the grey tongue and adding grey to the upper mudguard. Kenichi shrewdly took advantage of the pre-existing elephant print on the upper and merely painted the necessary parts grey, leaving the natural elephant print to do its own magic (re-creating elephant print is one of the toughest things to do in the custom sector).
