AIR JORDAN XI LOW The Air Jordan XI Low is a low version of Michael Jordan’s eleventh signature sneaker. This model differs from the IE version in that it features patent leather and comes as a more direct descendant of the Air Jordan XI in terms of aesthetics. The Air Jordan XI Low in this form was not available to the public until the retro treatment that began in 2001.

With how December has played out for the past couple of years, we are all well familiar with Air Jordan XI madness. This year’s rumored Columbia release poses an interesting question though: can the interest persist at such levels in a year so jam packed with long-awaited retro releases? In addition to OG colorways making their return, you also have to consider that another Air Jordan XI equipped with the white patent leather look is making its way to retail in 2012, the White/Black/Varsity Red version shown here. Will you be lining up for both or are you more prone to the high or low in particular? With the Air Jordan IV White/Cement finally out in the wild as of last weekend, it has a pretty good chance of holding down the spot for the best OG-colorway Air Jordan retro for this year. There’s still quite a battle to be had in the realm of new looks for the legacy series though, with one of the main contenders being this Air Jordan XI Low on its way for March. Sure the palette is familiar Bull’s fair, but this exact combo has never popped up on the patent leather version of the Lows, so we can’t imagine these sitting on retail shelves for very long. News of an all-black Air Jordan XI took the sneakerhead world by storm on Friday, this latest revelation proving that the model most likely to be your favorite Christmas gift still has a few new tricks up its sleeve. And how about a brand new lowtop edition while we’re at it, the Air Jordan XI Low coming through with a Columbia-blocked take on the classic Chicago Bulls look that’s so fresh its closest comparison are the ‘History of Flight’ promo samples currently moving for mid four-figure prices on eBay. These will prove a decidedly more affordable way to get this supremely crisp color palette into your hands, but will they produce the kinds of lineups and sellouts with which Elevens are now syonymous? One otehr thing to note while you wait, the style number on the tag and box appears to be different than the one that had previously been circulating (306008-111). We know y’all are still recovering from the ‘Blackout’ we showed you earlier today, but there’s more heat to be served so get ready! Here’s another look at the Air Jordan XI Low in the White/Red/Black colorway; these are awfully similar to the ‘History Of Flight’ promo pairs that we’ve been showing you lately, although a Mid version would be a lot more accurate. Of course, unlike the History Of Flight version, these will actually release (on May 5th, for that matter), so looking at them through a computer screen won’t nearly be as good as peering down on them as they comfortably wrap your feet. Are these a definite cop for you? These seasonal releases will surely be instant hits, so don’t sleep on ‘em! via soleland

Fabolous has been on point with his Air Jordan game, keeping consistent with recent releases and even jumping the gun on a few. Recently, he laid out his ‘fits for upcoming events and outings, highlighting the Air Jordan XI Low White/Red, Air Jordan IV ‘Military’, and two Jordan Son of Mars colorways with matching apparel. You should’ve spotted ‘Loso’s Military IVs when he, along with Lil’ Wayne, Trey Songz, and a slew of other celebs partied it up with Stevie J last week, but we’ll keep you updated if he’s spotted with some other Jordan heat. Uttering the phrase ‘Air Jordan XI Low‘ brings about the kind of uncertainty that’s nearly without parallel in the entire Air Jordan Legacy. That’s because the first model released as a lowtop version of the Elevens came in the summer after the Bulls beat the Sonics as a kind of precursor to today’s multi-shoe product cycles. The AJXI IE finally made it back to retailers last summer, so you could see why it might confuse some that the ‘true’ Eleven Low is getting a retro run this summer. These are closer to the beloved Air Jordan 11 than the meshed-out IE variant, this white, black and Varsity Red edition somewhat similar to the white/red XIs that turned up at the History of Flight display at Nike Santa Monica a couple summers back. So you can look at this model as tying up a bunch of loose ends, not to mention its status as one of the most promising white kicks for summer. One of your New Year’s Resolutions was to spend less money on shoes? How’s that holdin’ up for ya? If you manage to last until the Summer season (unlikely), prepare yourself to break the bank because the Summer 2012 season will be a huge one for the Air Jordan Retro.
