Air Jordan XII Low Mike Bibby PE Inspired Customs

Sneaker customizers have been becoming more and more efficient with their projects, maximizing their efforts with the simplest of modifications. This Air Jordan XII Low ‘Taxi’ needed just a few paint strokes in white on the midsole to give it a whole new look, one that is inspired by Mike Bibby’s Air Jordan XII Low PE during his Sacramento Kings days. Bibby’s PE featured the same color-blocking you see above (just imaging the black portions in Kings purple) with that funky white stripe on the midsole, giving the shoe an added contrast. The ’23′ on the heel has also been painted white (the original on the Taxi low is red). Check out this sweet new custom done by Fdotlawless on NT and let us know what you think!

Sneaker News Weekly Buyers Guide: 5/26/11

Another week of new sneaker releases are upon us, but have you kept on pace? It may be difficult (and at times, pesky) to keep up with all the fresh releases, but that’s what the Sneaker News Weekly Buyer’s Guide is here for – to give you a quick rundown of what’s fresh out of the oven. Nike SB’s June 2011 releases just became available (that ‘Send Help’ SB Dunk Mid is looking great) as did the Grey/Neon colorway of the Air Max JR. If you’re looking for Retro trainers, this week brought in a new colorway of the Air Trainer SC II High and an OG colorway of the Air Trainer Max2 ’94. We’ve also got a quick preview of what’s hitting stores this weekend, so check out this week’s Buyer’s Guide and let us know what you’ll be copping!

Air Jordan XII Low Black Varsity Red | Release Date

The Air Jordan XII is the first Air Jordan shoe feature full-length Zoom Air as the primary cushioning agent. It certainly served Michael well that season, as he led the Chicago Bulls to an astounding 69 wins during the regular season and a fifth overall Championship. The Air Jordan XII released in a five colorways when it originally released in the late 1996, but we’ve never seen a tonal-black upper until the ‘Nubuck’ release of 2003. This upcoming Air Jordan XII Low adopts a similar all-black motif, but features a glossy patent leather finish on the mudguard and micro-perforated panels on the upper a la the ‘Rising Sun’ edition of 2009. May 28th is the official release date for these so take another look at the images of this upcoming Jordan release below and pick up a pair now on eBay.

Air Jordan XII Low Black Patent New Images

There are two new Air Jordan XII Retro Low releases on tap for the upcoming months, one of which is a redux of an original colorway and another that’s entirely new.  The above pictured model is the latter of that duo, a brand new AJXII Low with the unique combination of (half-) perforated nubuck and patent leather that has only appeared on a single Twelve before it.  Maybe we can call these the ‘Setting Suns’, cos there’s no doubt they are something like the inverted ‘Rising Suns’ — both a flip from black to white and from mid to low.  Click through to get a close-up look at these new photos of the black patent Air Jordan 12 Low and stick with Sneaker News for the release date.  via Rstor

Air Jordan 12 Retro Low Black Patent New Photos

Here’s another look at a shoe that’s about as close to an Air Jordan 11.5 as most purists could stomach.  The Air Jordan XII Retro Low pictured above successfully merges the Twelve’s silhouette with the Eleven’s patent leather mudguards for a look that’s sure to be one of the hottest selling sneakers this summer.  These joints shouldn’t be subject to the same scrutiny that surrounded the ‘Rising Sun’ AJXII‘s insoles but there’s no denying their bizarro-style resemblance.  With a lowtop version of the Air Jordan 12 Retro ‘Taxi’ also on the way, would you have rather seen this new colorway in a midtop cut?  And now that they’re both below the ankle, which AJXII Low is your favorite?  Click through to see more of the black patent pair to aide in your decision and stick with Sneaker News for updates on their release.  via SneakerHotline

Air Jordan XII Retro Low Black Patent New Images

There are several Air Jordan point-5 models that combine successive models and we’ll probably start to see more like the 6-17-23 that work off of Collezione math, but for whatever reason the Elevens and Twelves have never been smashed together in one design.  These are two of the most beloved Jays of all time so maybe Jordan Brand is like many sneakerheads and would consider such an act sacrilege, so this new Air Jordan XII Low will do just fine in the mean time.  In construction, they’re sort of like an Un-Rising Sun low, offering the same mix of half-perforated nubuck and patent leather, but this time in all black with red accents.  This gives you just the right balance of Bred XIs and Flu Game XIIs without compromising either shoe’s impeccable lines.  Click through to see more of this upcoming Air Jordan 12 Retro Low and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date.  via Kicks-Crew
