NBA Feet: Bobby Simmons Air Jordan XIII PE

The sleepy-eyed Bobby Simmons made a return to the NBA last night, re-joining his former team the Los Angeles Clippers for a match-up against the rising Minnesota Timberwolves. Clearly, the Clips weren’t the same Clips that Simmons left behind back in 2005; no longer the laughing stock of the league, Los Angeles was now a title contender and Simmons would be depended on for his veteran presence rather than his statistical output. However, his on-court abilities were at one point noticed and rewarded by Jordan Brand as he was officially added to the roster of Jumpman athletes, and plenty of Bobby Simmons Air Jordan Retro PEs exist, like the Air Jordan XIII he wore last night. While his return wasn’t exactly on the level of fellow NBDL-er and 10-Day Contract man Jeremy Lin, Simmons was welcomed warmly by the Clippers faithful, who remembered his efforts and his Most Improved Player award in 2005. Let’s hope Bobby regains his previous form, because we’d love to see more Air Jordan PEs! via ESPN

NBA Feet: Weekend Recap 2/17 2/19

Quite the eventful weekend, no? With the release of the Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’ on Saturday morning and the unfortunate online fiasco that happened in the early morning hours, this past weekend was certainly one of the most eventful ones of the month. Did anyone rock the Cement IV in the NBA? That distinction goes to San Antonio’s DeJuan Blair, who rocked the White/Cement IV with the Spurs throwback jersey. Quentin Richardson might’ve topped that by wearing his Black/Royal PE of the Air Jordan XIII, and Demar DeRozan continued wearing Kobe’s by rocking a sick Red/Black Zoom Kobe VII iD. The Jeremy Lin Show continued with a loss against the Hornets on Friday, but Linsanity returned on Sunday when the Knicks defeated the defending champion Dallas Mavericks in an exciting come-from-behind victory. J.R. Smith made his return to the NBA, chipping in with solid scoring for the Knicks while wearing the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse Low. The Air Jordan XI was again a popular choice, with the Space Jams and Concords making their weekly appearances, and LeBron James continued rocking PEs of his Nike LeBron 9 in back-to-back appearances against the Cavs and Magic. The weekend was capped off by Durant’s 51 points, Westbrook’s 40, and Serge Ibaka’s triple-double as the Thunder knocked off the Nuggets in OT. NBA Feet: Quentin Richardson Air Jordan XIII Black/Royal PE

Q-Rich was a member of the head-banging duo from the Los Angeles Clippers that was signed on to Jordan Brand as the new wave of athletes to represent the premiere label of the Jumpman. While neither player lived up to the superstar expectations (with Darius Miles being irrelevant to the NBA for several years), Quentin has proved to be a valuable player on many rosters, providing scoring from beyond the arc while playing physical defense against the league’s best in his SF position. During Sunday’s showdown against the intra-state rival Miami Heat, Q-Rich rocked a sick Black/Royal Player Exclusive of the Air Jordan XIII, part of a ‘Home’ and ‘Away’ set that he showed off over the Summer. Check out the extra angles of Q-Rich’s sick PEs and let us know if you’d like to see these release! via Yahoo

NBA Feet: Around The League 1/30 1/31

What a way to close out the month of January! Just last night, Sneaker News showed you Ray Allen’s insane Air Jordan XIII PE in Black/Green, but that wasn’t the only notable sneaker sighting from the past two days. Al Harrington of the Denver Nuggets sported a Nike LeBron 9 iD colorway of Gold/Black, while C.J. Miles of the Utah Jazz wore a great colorway of the Nike Zoom KD III iD. Chris Paul wore a Blue/Red colorway of the Jordan CP3.V, while teammate Blake Griffin wore Kendrick Perkins’ face on his feet (actually the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011). The Knicks finally got back to winning ways, with Amare Stoudemire sporting a nice PE colorway of the Nike Air Max Sweep Thru, and Derrick Rose and the Bulls bounced back from the loss with their leader wearing the adidas adiZero Rose 2.5. Next to Ray’s XIIIs, the sighting of the two nights might be Earl Clark’s Royal Foams. Check out all the NBA action from the last two days of January below, and stay with Sneaker News as we keep you in tune with all of NBA Feet for the month of February! via ESPN.

NBA Feet: Ray Allen Air Jordan XIII Black/Green PE

During the Celtics’ game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Ray Allen scored seventeen points, dished out eight assists, and blew the minds of millions of sneakerheads as he wore a neck-breaking Black/Green Player Exclusive colorway of the Air Jordan XIII. Ray’s name became associated with the Air Jordan XIII when Jordan Brand created a special PE for the league’s all-time greatest three-point shooter last season, and later released the shoe in very limited numbers. However, some may deem this Black/Green ‘Away’ colorway as the better of the two; it features a Black upper with a green midsole (like the White version), but with a white outsole. Check out Ray and his latest Air Jordan PEs after the jump and we’ll keep you updated on his NBA Feet sightings and any possible release information. via ESPN.

Air Jordan XIII Eddie Jones Miami Heat Home PE

Many sneakerheads today probably aren’t aware of the short-lived legacy of Eddie Jones – the Temple Owl alumni who was to be the future of the Los Angeles Lakers until a certain high-school phenom showed up on the bench. Eddie was drafted by the Lakers in that stacked ’94 draft class and got off on a quick start, establishing himself as one of the best ‘finesse’ shooting guards in the entire league. Just when Eddie was entering his prime, the Lakers traded him away to the Charlotte Hornets to make room for Kobe Bryant, who at that point deserved a starting spot; the three-guard rotation simply did not work, and it was time for Eddie to move on to different pastures. He was then traded from the Hornets to the Heat, where he was once again traded away to make room for a budding star (this time it was Dwyane Wade). During his tenure with the Heat, Jordan Brand outfitted E-Jones with this PE colorway of the Air Jordan XIII – just one of many of the Air Jordan Retro PEs that we’ve showcased here on Sneaker News before. It’s got a simple tonal white upper with red trimmings on the inner lining, outsole, and branding for a clean and simple appeal perfect for that Miami climate. Check out the gallery below and place your bid now in this listing from aug1312 on eBay.

NBA Media Day 2011

The day that was in danger of never happening is finally here – NBA Media Day! It’s the perfect opportunity for NBA stars to re-introduce themselves to the media and the fans, and also a first look at some familiar faces in new places. We’ll let the NBA blogs handle that drama, because we’re here to look at the kicks! Starting off, Joe Johnson of the Atlanta Hawks was rocking the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’, while Southern Conference rivals Orlando Magic forward Quentin Richardson wore his Air Jordan XIII PE in White/Royal. The Knicks frontcourt of Melo, STAT, and Tyson Chandler got together for a nice photo, while Kobe Bryant posed with veteran Derek Fisher and new coach Mike Brown. Other interesting notes: Monta Ellis, formerly with AND1, is seen wearing the Air Jordan 8.0 (that’s a great pick-up for Jumpman if he’s a full time member), and LeBron James rocking the Home/Scarface LeBron 9. There’s a lot more to see below, so take a look and get ready to kick off a season-long series of NBA Feet features! via Yahoo!.

NCAA Feet: Week Of 11/21 11/27

The biggest basketball news of the last week came from the NBA, as an agreement between the players and owners was tentatively reached and a Christmas Day starting line was set. However, there wasn’t a lack of basketball action; San Diego State battled Arizona in a clash of the sneakerhead schools, while Syracuse came with their A-game during the NIT Season Tip-Off amidst the scandalous stories surrounding assistant coach Bernie Fine. The UNC Tar Heels, ranked #1 in the nation, feel to UNLV in a stunning loss as well. Below we have a nice recap of some of the notable sneakers worn during the games, like the Black/Cement III and Air Jordan IX on the Orange feet, the Oregon State AJ9 PEs, Concords on Jordan’s boys, and of course, a slew of Jordan heat from the aforementioned SDSU/Arizona match-up. Check out all the action below and stick with Sneaker News for more NCAA Feet action as the season rolls along! via Yahoo!.
