AIR JORDAN XIV The Air Jordan XIV originally released in 1998, boasting a Ferrari influenced design that served as an homage to Michael Jordan’s love for motorsports. The most beloved colorway of this late-era Tinker Hatfield model was the ‘Last Shot’, a black and red pair made famous by MJ during that iconic moment where he hit the winning shot in Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals to win the Championship; said shot would be his last as a Chicago Bull.

On August 2nd, Jordan Brand will bring back the Air Jordan XIV in a new Grey/Sport Blue colorway, fitting in with a small collection of Retro Jordans slated to drop during the Fall season. This combo of grey/blue is similar to 2011′s release of the “Light Graphite”, which used darker shades of the two primary colors, but the difference here is the use of a tumbled leather on the upper. Unreleased Air Jordan XIV Hybrid Sneaker

air jordan 14 hybrid sample Unreleased Air Jordan XIV Hybrid Sneaker

The Air Jordan 14 is getting some shine this year thanks to those retro editions that are planned, which will introduce some new colorways to the sneaker but still stick with the same overall build that MJ made famous with that “Last Shot”. Offering up a bizarre alternative for the sneakers is this unreleased sample pair that features a much more modern build and a red lining that we’ve seen before on some scattered sample Jordans. What’s interesting is that the tag inside calls it the Jordan 610, which may or may not be a reference to its Ferrari heritage and the 2010 Ferrari 610 GT. Continue reading to see extra shots on them and then check this opportunity to purchase these Jordan 14 samples from rayenrayray on eBay.

Jordan Brand’s track record of creating hybrid Retro-inspired sneakers hasn’t received warm reception thus far, but the most recent series, which consists of pairings of the Air Jordan 1 Mid and another Air Jordan legacy model, has proven to be its best yet. Tonight we get a first look at the Air Jordan 1 ’99 that combines AJ1 with MJ’s final Championship sneaker – the Air Jordan XIV; the signature stitching on the XIV as well as the rubberized heel make up the most obvious features of this upcoming sneaker, while the nylon tongue is a nod to the same material used on the latter model’s tongue construction. There’s more to see below, so stay tuned to Sneaker News for the latest and see the full listing on the Air Jordan 1 Retro ’99 from silvjorr on eBay.

A Detailed Look at the Air Jordan 14 Retro “Thunder”

air jordan 14 retro black yellow thunder A Detailed Look at the Air Jordan 14 Retro Thunder

There haven’t been a whole lot of Air Jordan colorways to appear on one model and then another.  Obviously the Chicago Bulls style is an exception as it’s the most indispensable from the series, so thinking of the other styles over the years, we usually see new colors and/or combinations introduced instead of the kind of port pictured above.  This ‘Thunder’ Air Jordan XIV, however, is an argument in favor of such a practice, as it admirably handles the task of appropriating a Jordan IV colorway that last year also joined the select group of non-original colorways to get a retro release.  Let us know if you think this high contrast pairing (which also made a mark on the ‘New Love’ AJ1) will be the highlight of what will probably an explosive July 4th release date and stick with Sneaker News for the latest.
