AIR JORDAN XIV The Air Jordan XIV originally released in 1998, boasting a Ferrari influenced design that served as an homage to Michael Jordan’s love for motorsports. The most beloved colorway of this late-era Tinker Hatfield model was the ‘Last Shot’, a black and red pair made famous by MJ during that iconic moment where he hit the winning shot in Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals to win the Championship; said shot would be his last as a Chicago Bull.

The Air Jordan 14‘s 2014 run just got a little bit deeper with the reveal of this new colorway. The sneakers feature a rich red suede treatment across the upper and yellow/black in supporting roles. The Air Jordan XIV in general was inspired by Michael Jordan’s love of the Ferrari, and this pair seems to go even further with that inspiration between the carbon fiber touches, the black/yellow logo, and the red body (There’s actually an ancient red suede sample that looks similar floating around out there). Get the rest of the photos on them after the break and keep in mind that these should be at Jordan Brand accounts for Fall, 2014.

air jordan 14 silver blue white Air Jordan 14 Sport Blue Release Date

The Air Jordan 14 “Sport Blue” will arrive at retailers on August 2nd, 2014. It looks like the last month of summer will be all about that royal blue hue leading up to the first ever retro of the Air Jordan 6 “Sport Blue” thanks to the addition of the Air Jordan 3 (releasing August 16th) but the brand new colorway of the Air Jordan 14 will kick things off with a different approach to the colorway than the other two models. Wolf Grey does most of the work as an accent color as the sport blue arrives subtly on the back heel and branding. best jordan retros Close Calls: 10 Air Jordan Retros That Could Pass as OGs

With Air Jordans and just about every other sneaker you’d want to collect, the original releases are among the most valuable. OG Jordans have the mystique of premium quality from a bygone era. The top-notch materials themselves along with the fact that those classic pairs feature the ‘NIKE AIR’ branding that remains elusive on Retros, means that serious sneakerheads have either worn or stockpiled every pair out there with demand well exceeding supply. Just a few days ago, we saw the asking price for an original set of Air Jordan VIs with fully wearable sole swaps average over $1000/pair.

What’s Left of the Original Air Jordans?

original air jordans 2014 Whats Left of the Original Air Jordans?

The idea of an un-retroed Air Jordan release was something that had sneakerheads salivating a few years ago. It still does, and perhaps to an even greater extent now, because there are even fewer remaining these days. Jordan Brand has given the people what we want and recently resurrected some of those long lost classics; highly anticipated drops like the ‘Powder Blue’ Air Jordan X and ‘Bordeaux’ VII leave the list of one-and-done originals shorter than at any point since the brand first dabbled in bringbacks back in 1994.

air jordan 14 ray allen bucks black purple Ray Allens Air Jordan 14 PE for the 98 99 Season

Around the time that Mike took his Last Shot, Ray Allen was still a youngin in the league piling on his first crop of shots on the road to becoming the eventual 3-point master that he is. But the two were wearing the same shoes in that time. Shown is an Air Jordan 14 straight from the Milwaukee Bucks era of Ray’s career, one which looks rather like the “Indiglo” colorway save for the injected bits of purple. Will this Air Jordan 14 from Ray’s past ever see a retail release? Will Jordan Brand eventually mine these ancient player exclusives to pay tribute to the man? Let us know your predictions after you browse the gallery on them below.
