So the recent news of the Air Jordan #XX8DaysofFlight collection arriving at the hands of the lucky winners as well as one pair going up for sale on eBay has been a trendy topic, but the “Black/Neon” Collection wasn’t the first themed set of Jays we’ve seen. In fact, 2012 was all about the White/Red, Pantone, Rainbow, Blackout, and more, and most have at one point or another gone up for sale on eBay. The value of these aren’t exactly set in stone, but with these pairs never releasing to the public, the demand for these elusive Retros is definitely there. One seller has several up for grabs now, so see what’s available below and check out the listings from soleland on eBay.

Air Jordan #XX8DaysOfFlight Winners

It appears that the massive “XX8 Days of Flight” set of Air Jordans given away by Jordan Brand has finally begun to make its way into the hands of the winners. You’ll recall that entry involved snapping a pic of yourself on Instagram using #XX8DaysofFlight wearing the Air Jordan model corresponding to that day. The black and green sneakers have popped up across Instagram, as the lucky Air Jordan enthusiasts who received their pairs have been eager to show them off (and it looks like Jordan Brand unknowingly selected one user to receive two pairs). Now that the pairs are out there, it will be a test of will power to see who ends up keeping these one of a kind sneakers in their personal collection and who ends up taking the “other” route to cash out, although the 1-of-1 factor might be to tough to let go! Check out most of the Air Jordan “XX8 Days of Flight” pairs that have been doled out right after the jump and tell us in the comments which pair is your favorite.

air jordan xvi low white varsity red unrelease sample Air Jordan XVI Low White Varsity Red | Unreleased 2012 Sample

The Air Jordan XVI will, for the time being, remain one of those sneakers that you just had to be there for the first round to get your hands on. Is it possible that such late era Air Jordan models will become a new status symbol of sorts, a way of showing you were around before the current retro boom? It’s definitely getting harder to standard with those OG colorways from 1-XIII given the frequency with which Jordan Brand is currently trotting them out. Stay with us after the jump to see a full gallery on an unreleased Air Jordan XVI Low from the scrapped 2012 retro treatment in white and varsity red and then take a look at the price tag put on by oregonsole on eBay.

Air Jordan XVI Low “Stealth” – Unreleased 2012 Sample

air jordan xvi low dark grey metallic silver stealth white Air Jordan XVI Low Stealth Unreleased 2012 Sample

Another look at an unreleased newbie from thee Air Jordan XVI Retro that never was is upon us – this low-top colorway of Dark Grey/Metallic Silver-Stealth-White. We first showed you the ‘Stealth’ colorway almost a month ago, but this closer viewing reveals some interesting details, like the wrinkled grey material seen in the Wolf Grey V and breathable mesh material used to construct the inner bootie. It’s strange that the entire Retro cycle of the XVI was nipped at the bud, but there’s no reason to think that an XVI re-issue won’t happen in the future. This particular sample is reported to be a release in late 2013/early 2014, but we’ll keep you updated on any updates regarding a wider Air Jordan XVI Retro.

Air Jordan XVI 2012 Retro – Unreleased “Cherrywood” Sample

The Air Jordan XVI signified many points in the legacy of the Air Jordan as well as in Michael Jordan’s career. As we all remember, Jordan wore the XVI for a short period when he finally returned to the NBA as a Washington Wizard, but on Nike’s side of things, the Air Jordan XVI was the first model since the Air Jordan II that was designed by someone other than Tinker Hatfield. Senior footwear designer Wilson Smith was behind the Air Jordan XVI, but he brought back some important elements from the Tinker era like the translucent outsole from the Air Jordan V and patent leather from the XI, but Smith welcomed the idea of a gaiter that truly gave the shoe a distinct aesthetic never before seen on an Air Jordan model. 2012 was intended to be the year of the XVI Retro, but as we’ve reported in recent headlines, that was completely scrapped. We do know that the Cherrywoods were intended to make a return, so peep this gallery of this unreleased sample and let us know if you’d welcome a Retro release in 2013.

If the Air Jordan XVI had come back around, which colorway would you most have wanted on the retro treatment? There’s no doubt that the ‘Ginger’ would have been a popular answer to that question amidst the small number of original colorways. Shown here is what would have been-a 2012 version of the Air Jordan XVI in light ginger, dark charcoal, and white. Would an Air Jordan XVI release in 2012 been too over the top? The XVI is the first sneaker that released during the Wizards era of Michael’s career, opting for more of a “lifestyle” angle with the Cherrywoods and Ginger joints, and this 2012 Retro release seems to follow that with a DMP-like combo of White, University Gold, Black, and Stealth. Although the XVI Retro in 2012 was completely scrapped, there’s no telling what Jordan Brand has in store for us in the future because at this point, anything’s game. A detailed gallery of this unreleased 2012 sample is just below so take a look and see the full listing from oregonsole on eBay.
