blue air jordans True Blue: A Look Back at Blue Air Jordans

This summer is a big one for blue Air Jordans: the Air Jordan 6 “Sport Blue” is leading the charge as the cherished original colorway sparking the movement and pairs like the Air Jordan 3, Air Jordan 14, and plenty of ancillary Jordan Brand styles have followed suit. Of course if you know your Air Jordan history, you know that there have been blue shoes in the mix since day one, and throughout the years, there have been plenty of different reasons for Jordan Brand’s sneakers to sport blue (No pun intended).

Air Jordan 17 Low – Mike Bibby PE on eBay

The Air Jordan 17 Low is best known for the pairs that Mike wore during his surprise return to the Washington Wizards. The shoe doesn’t technically carry the aesthetic of a low top, but you can blame that on the bootie that extends up the ankle for an added lockdown support. And if there’s ever a lowtop Air Jordan, you can expect Mike Bibby to get a PE of one. This pair ditches any Kings callout besides the ‘BIB 10 TD’ stitching on the ankle and while the Team Dime logo is missed, this is definitely one of the rarer Bibby finds out there. Hit the click for more images and grab this pair via jumpman024 on eBay.

sn staff insights 21st century air jordans Staff Insights: 21st Century Air Jordans

Yesterday, Jordan Brand introduced the world to the Air Jordan XX9, a woven one-piece upper design that again makes use of the Flight Plate cushioning system. It’s no secret that not all of the legacy models have set the sneaker world on fire the way those early Air Jordan offerings did, but there’s no denying some of the bold achievements they’ve made along the way in the name of performance and innovation. It seems like after the XIV, many of the later models tend to remain a bit more obscure than their uber-iconic predecessors, so with the latest game shoe being revealed this week, it seemed like a perfect time to shine some light on some of the best post-2000 installments. In this edition of Staff Insights, our team pinpoints some of their favorite Air Jordans from the latter half of the line’s tenure.

The Air Jordan 17 might not be the sort of model clamored over in retro circles, but it’s certainly an important one as far as MJ’s sneaker lineage is concerned. It would go down as the model most associated with the Washington Wizards era Mike, and hence one of the last ever pairs to be given the player exclusive treatment for the man. This Air Jordan 17 Low, featuring a straightforward blue/white colorway and some covert 23 embroidery on the back end, was one of the pairs available to him during that twilight of his NBA career. Continue reading for detailed imagery on this PE Air Jordan and then bid on them now from jdmturboek on eBay.

michael jordan air jordan exclusives Complexs Best Michael Jordan Air Jordan PEs

There are a huge number of Air Jordan player exclusives out there for a pretty big number of different players. With that being said, MJ himself certainly rules the roost as far as that category is concenred. When he could actually be seen on the hardwood, Jordan had a habit of breaking neck with the likes of pairs that would never end up at retail. Amongst them were those Air Jordan XI pairs with the “45″ on the back end, an Air Jordan V with an extra bit of embroidery, and even a Wizards era Air Jordan III special. See some of the sneakers with us below and then get the rest of the group courtesy of Complex.

Air Jordan XVII “Rainbow Pack” on eBay

The Air Jordan XVII from the “Rainbow” collection of Jordans ends up on the darker end of the spectrum, jumping in as the color wheel rotates over to blues and purples. That tone manages to mesh with the sneaker’s jazzy vibe, one that is of course embedded in its design via the music notes running along the upper. You’ll recall that the rainbow colored set is a super rare one that was sampled up for display purposes only-there was pretty much no chance of these hitting retail from the get go. Take a further look at this rare Air Jordan XVII and then, if you happen to be the magic sample size, grab your pair from gtecua09 on eBay.
