An official look at the all-new Air Jordan XX8 is here, presented in three angles – a side profile with it fully zipped up, a quarter angle shot with it zipped down, and a look at the sole and the outlines of the Zoom Air cushioning. At $250 retail, consumers have been debating the value of the Air Jordan XX8, considering the price is nearly $100 more than an Air Jordan Retro release. However, the XX8 isn’t an everyman shoe, but one built for top-level performance – it just happens to look clean as heck when worn casually. The color red has traditionally been the All-Star colorway for the players on the West squad, but in recent years, Nike and Jordan Brand have turned a blind eye to that unwritten rule and produced some of the most wildly color-blocked sneakers in history. That means the colorway most strongly tied to the history of Air Jordans has been nearly forgotten, but look for that to change with the eye-catching red and black edition coming back onto the scene with timing that suggests this edition could turn out to be both Russell Westbrook’s 2013 NBA All-Star sneakers and available for purchase at retail soon.
