With the upcoming release of the Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum Air Yeezy 2, many sneakerheads have been pondering the thought of future Air Yeezy 2 colorways aside from the confirmed Black/Solar Red joints. Even going back to the original Air Yeezy, there were a number of unreleased samples of the Air Yeezy that Kanye wore around from the time to time, so there certainly is potential for the Air Yeezy 2 to mystify. High Snobiety selected the Air Yeezy 2 as the next in their Illustrated series, using the work of artist Olka Osadzinska to create a blank template for you to create your own. So get to it! At this point, any change in the release info for Kanye’s next shoe shouldn’t come as a surprise, so this recent news from Solebox of a globally postponed release surfacing from out of Europe could be just another bump in the rocky road of the Nike Air Yeezy 2. The final destination sure looks worth it, but it looks like sneakerheads may have a wait a bit longer to get their hands on theirs. Do those that have been camping out since late-February have more time to enjoy the outdoors? Nothing seems to be officially confirmed by Nike at this point, but stay tuned and we’ll be sure to keep you up to date on further Air Yeezy 2 release developments very soon.

Next to last year’s Nike Mag 2011 release, the Air Yeezy 2 has been Nike’s best kept sneaker secrets in quite a long span of time. The looming release has been approached with a level of nervousness from both the community of consumers as well as the retailers and Nike itself; just how much mayhem could possibly surround the most stirring releases of 2012? Continuing the unfolding story of the Air Yeezy 2, we stumbled upon some interesting new information regarding the logo spotted on the Air Yeezy 2; based on the findings of NT member youbigdummy, the new logo appears to be inspired by the Bird Gods of Ancient Egypt, which runs consistent to Kanye’s personal interest/infatuation with Egyptian deities and their versatility as iconic symbols in fashion.
You might even recollect Kanye’s mind-boggling 24K gold Horus chain and pyramid rings during his appearance at the 2010 BET Awards, which generated a ton of interest from various pop-culture blogs worldwide; the chain worn around his neck represented the Bird God known as Horus, who is recognized as the God of War and the God of the Sky, so Kanye’s intense affinity to such a powerful icon could, quite frankly, be very well understood. With such a profound sense and conceptualization of fashion, it’s very clear that a lot of thought has gone into the Air Yeezy 2 design, and his demand for perfection is likely one reason why the Air Yeezy 2 never seemed to find the right time for a release – until now. Your thoughts on this newfound detail? Let us know in the comments area below.

Earlier this week Sneaker News provided you with some updated product information regarding the highly anticipated sequel to the Air Yeezy, a sneaker that broke the definitive barriers of the signature Nike sneaker. The ‘Zen Grey’ colorway of the Air Yeezy 2 was confirmed to be a Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum colorway, with the postponement of the release date also confirmed by Sneaker News. This latest update, put forth by TSG, coincides with other information that we received, so it appears that the April 13th release date is now the target for the Wolf Grey Air Yeezy 2 – although at this point, anything can happen! We’ll keep you updated more on the Air Yeezy 2 as it develops, so stick with Sneaker News for more on this buzzing story and let us know if you plan on copping the ‘Wolf Grey’ Yeezy 2.

While release information for the Air Yeezy 2 continues to be cloudy, Sneaker News still hooked it up with official colorways as well as the news that the rumored March 23rd release was not going down (pushed back to a later date). The only other updates around for the Air Yeezy 2 arrives when the select few in Kanye’s circle gets to wear ‘em out and about, just like how Jay-Z did during the Nets/Clippers game last night. Jay-Z rocked his Solar Red Yeezy 2′s with a matching Diamond Supply fitted cap (that stock just went up, didn’t it?) and a gold chain that could probably be seen from outer space. Sneaker News readers voted the Nike Air Yeezy 2 as the most anticipated sneaker release of 2012 in our year-end Sneaker News Reader’s Choice Poll, beating out the two blockbuster Air Jordan Retros by significant margins. That notion still remains, but it’s becoming a difficult task to track the progress of the Air Yeezy 2 with Nike keeping such a tight lid on the project. This past Friday, Sneaker News was provided some information regarding a third colorway of the Nike Air Yeezy 2, but it appears that for now, just two colorways will release – the Black/Solar Red, which has been on Kanye’s feet over the last few months, and the Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum, commonly referred to as the ‘Zen Grey’. Another significant piece of information is that the rumored release of March 23rd is looking to be unlikely, with the release rumored to be pushed back to a later date (but not far after). If you want the most up-to-date information regarding the Nike Air Yeezy 2 release, you know where to keep in tuned, so let us know which of the two confirmed colorways you’d prefer to have, and stick with Sneaker News for more updates. Many thanks to Jack for the info.

Over the last few years, we’ve noticed an evolution in Kanye West’s personal style, going from streetwear brands to a more luxury ‘high-end’ type of urban apparel. What hasn’t wavered is his love for sneakers, and as one of the most influential tastemakers and sneakerheads of our generation, the partnership between ‘Ye and Nike has produced the most sought after sneakers of the decade – the Nike Air Yeezy. While we’ve seen clear looks at the Air Yeezy 2 over the last few months, we have yet to finalize solid release information – but as long as we keep seeing them out in public, we can at least hope a release in imminent (currently rumored for March 23rd). Kanye West was recently spotted at London Fashion Week wearing the Nike Air Yeezy 2 in the ‘Zen Grey’ colorway; he matched it with his two-toned denim outfit, a bright green sweater, and a healthy helping of gold chains around his neck. Jay-Z has built a reputation of giving special attention to the sneakers he loves, which is why he’s been spotted in Black/Cement IIIs and Air Jordan 1s rather frequently (that’s a solid and concise rotation, is it not?). It seems like the Air Yeezy 2 cracked his exclusive list, because he’s been spotted again with the Yeezys while sitting courtside at the Kentucky vs. Louisville game on Friday. Sports fans may remember that he was under a bit of heat by the NBA for being in the Wildcats’ locker-room after their Final Four clinching back in March, but this time around, he played nice by remaining in the stands and probably won’t be fined by the NBA. He does grab Sneaker News’ attention with his Air Yeezy 2, so check out HOV in the Yeezy 2 after the jump and let us know what you think. via zimbio.
