The Reebok Classic line continues to be a collection curated in part by the celebrity power couple of Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz. The latest from the former has just arrived-a group of the brand new Reebok Freestyle Hi Wedge, a remix of the classic Reebok Freestyle Hi silhouette that brings them in tune with the more contemporary wedge-look that’s been ever so popular as of late. Alicia Keys has even more Reebok goodies in the works for the ladies in the form of the Reebok Classics AKW. The pairs align the Vector Brand with the increasingly popular wedged sneaker category via their high hitting silhouette. What’s more, the style was actually debuted by Alicia herself during last night’s 2013 NBA All-Star Game performance. The partnership between Alicia Keys and Reebok is still going strong, with the Vector Brand cranking a bunch more styles recently that make up two separate mini collections. With the debut of the Alicia Keys x Reebok collection much talk has been devoted to the obvious ‘all in the family’ nature of the project, with husband Swizz Beatz currently holding down a pretty important spot over at the Vector Brand. It runs a bit deeper than that though, as Reebok is a brand that Alicia very much grew up with, with silos like the Reebok Freestyle particularly nostalgic for the multi-talented songstress. The Reebok team can now officially welcome a new member into their family, with Alicia Keys being the latest artist to partner up with the big box sneaker company to curate her own collection. The range was previewed last week but this time around we’ve got shots of a few more styles included along with the official word on the lot. In its entirety the group features pairs of the Freestyle Hi, Freestyle Double Bubble, Classic Nylon Slim and Princess, with a rift down the middle between the regal black and gold looks and the more lighthearted colorful pairs. My, things have changed over the course of the last few years, haven’t they? This past Friday’s release of the Reebok Question brought on unprecedented camp-outs and lines for the release of the original Pearlized Toe Questions, but remember it was just a few years ago these the Questions were re-released and actually sat around shelves for quite some time. It’s true that sneakers are much more of a ‘must-have’ commodity now and the Question was re-inserted into the game at just the right time – even Alicia Keys, the wife of Reebok’s frontman Swizz Beatz, is getting in on the fun. Reebok Back! Reebok and celebrity collaborator Swizz Beatz held a special launch event for the Reebok ‘Reethym Of Light’ campaign, which focuses on the new Reebok Lite Footwear line and Swizz’s personal take on collection. He calls it an ‘International Party’, where footwear connects with the rhythm of art, dance, music, and style, and it was certainly a party last night at Espace as Swizz was joined on stage by Lloyd Banks for alive performance. Other notable guests at event included P. Diddy, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Busta Rhymes, DJ Khaled, Clive Davis, and more.
