Basketball was exciting in Philly during the late 90′s. The Sixers had just drafted one of the most anti-prototypical players in history in Allen Iverson – a 6’0′ point guard with the mentality of a gun-slinging shooting guard and the fearlessness of a Power Forward. Before he created the new fashion trend with his cornrows and casual courtside wear, Allen Iverson sparked things in his rookie year by winning the best honor for a first-year player and putting the moves on Michael Jordan, and eventually ‘The Answer’ went on to appear in multiple All-Star games, win four NBA Scoring Titles, earn an MVP award, and advance to the NBA Finals. Allen Iverson was the new era of NBA Player, and again, we can’t help but think back to where it started – the Reebok Question. The Pearlized Toe version, a Philly-exclusive release back in the day – will return later this month in a much-awaited return. Find these on May 25th at select Reebok accounts nationwide like Mr R Sports. Photos: ITSB

This May 25th, Reebok will re-tell the story of the Question by re-releasing the original pearlized-toe colorway at select retailers, but not to worry because more Questions will be ‘answered’. The iconic White/Blue colorway that Allen Iverson so viciously crossed up Michael Jordan in will also see a return, as teased here by Reebok front-man Swizz Beatz. If you don’t remember that piece of NBA history (we’re sure Michael does as well), we’ve got a quick video to refresh your memory, so take a look and let us know what your favorite Allen Iverson NBA moment is!

The Reebok Question and Allen Iverson chat has been heating up on Sneaker News, and with the confirmation of a release for later this month, the excitement over one of the most iconic basketball shoes of the 90′s (and perhaps all time) is boiling up to one of Reebok’s best releases of the year. Looking back at Allen Iverson’s most memorable moments in the Reebok Question (like when he crossed up Michael Jordan in the White/Navy colorway) certainly brings forth that ‘must-have’ aura about the sneaker, so the OG pearlized-toe version which is scheduled to drop this May 25th, we get to re-live one of the most energetic eras of the NBA and sneaker history. The Reebok Question White/Red will be a one-time release at select retailers including Reebok.com, Jimmy Jazz, Villa, Shoe Palace, City Gear, The Vault, and Shiekh’s, so check out these new shots of the Questions as well as some throwback stills of A.I. burning up the league below!

The Reebok campaign continues and it certainly got a lot stronger with the support of Allen Iverson, Reebok’s longest-tenured basketball athlete endorsee in history. As you know, Iverson has a life-time contract with Reebok, and clearly he’s aware of the Reebok Back movement as he made a cameo appearance in Swizz Beatz’ latest music video ‘Street Knock’ (available for viewing just below). Both ‘The Answer’ and Swizz rocked the Reebok Question, with Swizz wearing them around his neck while spitting his tunes while Iverson wore ‘em while displaying his legendary handles. Swizz also wore the Questions during a recent taping of BET’s 106 & Park. More on this sick Celebrity Feet sighting below, so take a look and let us know how excited you are about the Questions hitting stores once again!

Yesterday was the 10th anniversary of a rant that will forever link Allen Iverson to guys like Mike Gundy, Jim Mora and Dennis Green. And although AI would no doubt rather be involved in the NBA Playoffs, the timing does have a nice coincidence about it with Iverson recently touring China in, among others, his most famous Reebok signature. RBK proves that Swizz Beatz won’t only be remixing the Vector brand’s classics, as the Reebok Question is brought back in a perfect reflection of the 1996 original made famous when Iverson broke Michael Jordan’s ankles in the blue-toed pair. This red-accented OG is coming up with a May 25th release date; will ‘The Answer’s first best loved sigs be on your summertime shopping list? via Reebok Classics

When you think of the most ground-breaking sneaker endorsement contracts, names like Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Derrick Rose come up. Let’s not forget Allen Iverson, the man who was the only reason why Reebok Basketball was on the map in the late 90′s-early 2000′s and owns one of the longest-running signature sneaker lines in history; after signing a lucrative endorsement contract upon his entrance into the NBA, Iverson made quite the extension to the terms of his deal in late 2001, which, in a nutshell, made him a Reebok athlete for life.
Though Iverson’s services may no longer be needed in the NBA at the moment, China has opened its arms to the former MVP and almost immediately, A.I. caught the attention of the U.S.-based sneaker newswire as he wore the Reebok Question during one of his games. During a recent outing that featured former NBA stars Dennis Rodman, Clyde Drexler, and Stephon Marbury, Iverson unearthed another gem from the Reebok stash – the Reebok Question 3; this particular pair appears to be a PE of some sort – perhaps a product of Reeboks’ YourReebok online customization module, but what does this mean on a larger scale? With Reebok makings its presence in the Lifestyle sector with the help of hip-hop stars, will we see a re-issue of the Reebok Question and Reebok Answer line? Check out Iverson and the Question 3 after the jump and let us know what you feel about a potential return. Photos: hupu

The world pays attention when dream match-ups come alive on television. The ratings are always the highest when pairings like Jordan and Magic, Shaq and The Dream, and LeBron and Kobe occur, and this past weekend, basketball fans were treated to a showdown of the throwback variety between two of the most exciting guards to ever play the game. Allen Iverson and Stephon Marbury, former All-Stars who have since been outsourced to China, faced off in a game that would certainly have been a big-ticket item in the late 90′s as the two ’96 draftees were often compared to one another, and although their services may no longer be needed in the NBA, they are still effective at the ‘one’ position on the other side of the globe. For this game, the long-time Reebok endorsee whipped out the classic Reebok Question in the original White/Red colorway, matching his teams uniform. We’ve got more of ‘The Answer’ in The Question after the jump, so take a look below and let us know where Iverson ranks among your favorite ballers of all-time. Photos: hupu

Allen Iverson is near the top of an elite group of players who parlayed their potential as NBA #1 draft picks into Hall of Fame careers. But Iverson’s college career (and as a result, his professional future) was in jeopardy when a Valentine’s Day 1993 fight at a Virginia bowling alley resulted in a 15-year prison sentence being handed down. 10 years were suspended, but had VA governor Douglas Wilder not stepped in with a pardon, AI would have been even further delayed from attending Georgetown University. Iverson made a huge mark as a Hoya, and before he broke Michael Jordan’s ankles a year later, AI rocked MJ’s Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ during his sophomore season at GU. It’d be even more ironic if the Hoyas uniforms were still supplied by Jordan Brand instead of Nike, but with MJ having hit his NCAA Championship-winning jumper against GU, there’s a certain symmetry in play here.
