In late 2011, Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer hosted a special event with New York Knicks star Amare Stoudemire for a Nike Sportswear: Always On campaign; during the event NSW unveiled a sick pair of Bespokes made for STAT, inspired by Amare’s new signature shoe with Nike – the Air Max Sweep Thru. NSW then went on to give away a small number of pairs through a Twitter-based giveaway, but it appears that one of the lucky recipients has decided to part ways with the specially-made pair of Bespokes. These should definitely tickle fancy for any NYK fan, so check out the images below and if you’re ready to throw down the loot, move on to the listing from danposite on eBay.

Nike Air Max Hyperposite Amare Stoudemire PE – Available on eBay

After watching their ‘friends’ in South Beach win a title in June, Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire should be motivated enough to bring the same level of intensity and winning focus back to the Garden for the upcoming season. While a fitter Carmelo Anthony is currently on the mission for Gold at the Olympic Games, Amare Stoudemire is in the States, where he reportedly paid Hakeem ‘The Dream’ Olajuwon stacks of money for a two-week tutoring session on low-post dominance. Although STAT is already one of the most dominant low-post players in the league when healthy and in-sync with his teammates, surely a one-on-one with one of the greatest Centers in history and even a potential switch from Sweep Thru to Hyperposite would elevate his game. No word on a release of STAT’s Hyperposite PE, but there’s a good shot he’ll be wearing these early on in the season, so let us know if you think Amare will have a bounce-back season and see the asking price for this PE from familybizz2011 on eBay.

Up till this point the all new Nike Hyperposite has been represented pretty much solely by that blue and pink combo. That’s all well and good as that blocking certainly is an energetic one, but we need to see a few more looks before we pass judgement right? Well we’ve got another one in the form of this blue and orange pair but there’s a catch, as they’re apparently a player exclusive for New York Knick Amare Stoudemire, so you may never be able to get your hands on them after all. Click through with us to check out a full view of the Nike Hyperposite crafted specially for Stoudemire and let us know in the comments below if you’re feeling the sneaker. Amare Stoudemire’s arrival to New York City during the 2010 offseason proved to pay off immediate dividends for the franchise and the city. He brought a winning attitude with his ferocious offense, and garnered legitimate MVP consideration for leading the Knicks to playoff contention while standing as the sole leader of the team in the days before Melo. In 2011, Stoudemire was presented with his latest signature sneaker called the Air Max Sweep Thru, which served as the inspiration behind this special Air Force 1 Bespoke, designed as part of the ‘Nike Sportswear: Always On’ campaign. The shoe pays tribute to Amare’s undeniable status as a bonafide superstar, and was given away in limited quantities during Amare’s live appearance at 21 Mercer last December.

The camouflage-inspired upper is taken directly from the Sweep Thru strap, which features the same detail, although for the Bespoke, the pattern is achieved by the iconic Lasering method on a royal blue tumbled leather. Embroidered on the heel is Stoudemire’s nickname ‘STAT’ (Standing Tall And Talented), with the ‘A’ on the midsole colored in orange to distinguish his first initial. The final personal touch comes in the form of the custom hang-tag, which is uniquely addressed to each of the winners of the giveaway. Continue on below to get a full viewing of the Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke for Amare Stoudemire, and if this design sparks your own creativity, get in touch with 21 Mercer today to schedule a Bespoke appointment.

NBA Stars Pay Tribute To Trayvon Martin

nba trayvon martin NBA Stars Pay Tribute To Trayvon Martin

The news of the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin hits close to home – for other 17-year-olds, for mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and friends. But the fact that Martin’s killer is yet to be arrested has marked this already tragic event with anger, confusion, and bitterness, spreading worldwide as more than a story of death, but about a flawed legal system that would allow a murderer to walk free (while arresting someone for throwing flour at Kim Kardashian). Trayvon’s story has grasped the attention of a number of notable individuals worldwide, and Dwyane Wade and LeBron James showed their support by writing respectful quotes like “RIP Trayvon Martin” and “We Want Justice” on their sneakers during their Friday-night game against the Pistons.

The entire Miami Heat team also came together for a photo, with each player donning a hoodie – a garment that has become an iconic piece of imagery and a display of support, much like a LIVESTRONG wristband or a pink ribbon. Other NBA stars showed their “hoodie” support as well; Carmelo Anthony and Steve Nash tweeted pictures of themselves while Amare Stoudemire spent the entire pre-game shootaround on Friday – with the hood on – to pay his respects. With Trayvon’s story becoming one of the top headlines in the nation and thousands of supporters voicing their concern through petitions and rallies, we hope a swift act of justice comes soon.

NBA Feet: Amare Stoudemire – Nike Air Max Sweep Thru ‘Galaxy’ PE

nba feet amare stoudemire nike air max sweep thru galaxy pe 1 NBA Feet: Amare Stoudemire Nike Air Max Sweep Thru Galaxy PE

How much more obvious can it get that a team hates their coach: a squad who reeled off seven wins in a row with an obscure Harvard-grad point guard suddenly loses six straight, only to come out the night their HC gets fired and win a 33-point blowout that starts another five game streak to the good?  Put simply, the New York Knicks tired of playing for Mike D’Antoni, and the team has been revitalized under interim boss Mike Woodson.  This fresh burst of new energy can be symbolized by All-Star power forward Amar’e Stoudemire, whose Nike Air Max Sweep Thru ‘Galaxy’ PEs debuted on Friday and have run in parallel with a commitment to winning that now clearly surpasses STAT’s desire for big offensive numbers.  The Knicks may still prove to be a force to reckon with, and we’ll continue to chronicle all their standout sneakers in our NBA Feet feature; click through to see what Amar’e was wearing during last night’s win in Philly and stick with Sneaker News for updates.  via espn

Nike Air Max Sweep Thru ‘Galaxy’ PE

March 20th, 2012 by | 5 comments

nike air max sweep thru galaxy pe 1 Nike Air Max Sweep Thru Galaxy PE

Amare Stoudemire is usually a shoo-in for the annual NBA All-Star Game, even earning a starting nod in his first year as an Eastern Conference player. However, his streak of five straight All-Star Game selections came to halt in 2012, when the Knicks forward was not voted as a starter (ironically, because the votes went to his teammate Carmelo Anthony) and was not selected as a reserve. Amare’s been hampered by nagging injuries, and the sudden death of his brother has been weighing over him, which clearly accounts for the slight dip in production. However, Nike, like most other NBA fans, had projected Amare to be part of the festivities again, which is why Nike issued him this sick Air Max Sweep Thru PE, taking on the beloved ‘Galaxy’ theme. While Amare couldn’t floss ‘em at the ASG, he did wear ‘em during both wins against the Pacers – the Knicks’ last two games. Check out Amare and his Galaxy PEs after the jump and let us know what you think of this PE!

NBA Feet: Weekend Recap – 3/16 – 3/18

nba feet 3 19 12 NBA Feet: Weekend Recap 3/16 3/18

Apparently the NBA heard us loud and clear when we said the NCAA boys have the NBA ballers clearly beat in the ‘Feet’ category, but this weekend’s collection of sneakers might flip that script. Starting off with Monta Ellis’ Air Jordan ‘Bred’ display, we caught a slew of awesome Air Jordans, Nike Basketball PEs, and St. Patty’s Day PEs that stole the spotlight from the Second Round of NCAA Tourney games. Josh Howard wore a White/Green PE of the Air Jordan XIII that was identical to the Ray Allen PE – with the exception of the ‘Ray’ logo on the tongue. Nate Robinson and Jared Jeffries wore the Air Jordan X ‘Stealth’, while a couple of Knickerbockers sported some awesome St. Patty’s digs – namely Carmelo’s Melo M8 and Mike Bibby repping the Jordan CP3.V. Amare Stoudemire and DeMarcus Cousins rocked their All-Star Game ‘Galaxy’ PEs, Ty Lawson got his ‘Dunkman’ on, and Kobe swapped out of the ‘Attack Strong’ insole for his Kobe VII ‘Lakers’. We’ve got an immense attack of NBA Feet below so take a good look and let us know who rocked the best kicks! via Yahoo
