Sneakerheads started to wonder which NBA stars would show up this season wearing the Nike Air Max Hyperposite as soon as the first images popped up, and now it’s clear that this Foamposite meets Hyperfuse performance machine will be the weapon of choice for some of the game’s elite big men. Following up on Chris Bosh and Amar’e Stoudemire’s home player exclusives, we see New Orleans Hornets #1 draft pick Anthony Davis in his own white Air Max Hyperposite PE. The freshly minted gold medalist’s makeup matches Bosh’s blocking pattern with just the Swooshes and outsoles done in contrasting colors, which makes us curious if either of those guys will eventually have one like STAT’s, or vice versa. Stick with Sneaker News to find out as we continue our coverage of NBA Feet and check out The Brow’s Hyperposite PEs in more shots below.

This past Saturday, the University of Kentucky held a past vs. present showdown between the Wildcats’ most recent NBA graduates and the stars of the past. The young squad consisted of up-and-coming stars like Anthony Davis, who wore the Scoring Title KD IV, DeMarcus Cousins, who rocked the ‘Home’ LeBron 9 Kentucky, and Darius Miller, wearing a flashy Orange/Black Zoom KD III. The older alumni featured some retired NBA players like Derek Anderson, who stole the show with the Air Jordan XI Low ‘Concord’ PE, and Tony Delk, wearing the Lunar Hypergamer. The game also featured special celeb guest in Drake (a noted Wildcats fan), who appeared with the Bordeaux VII. We’ve got a nice recap of the event below so take a look and let us know whose kicks deserve the most props!

Alright we know you’re not excited for the summer to be over, but on the plus side the NBA will edge that much closer to reconvening once summer expires, with the first game set to take place on October 30th. For shadowing the season is the NBA Rookie Media Day 2012 photo shoot, wherein the group of newbies was corralled for some shots while being decked out in their new team gear and of course some exciting sneaker selections. The wears were a bit territorial, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist’s new home with the Charlotte Bobcats apparently already affecting his sneaker selection and Marquis Teague slipping on some adidas that would make D-Rose proud. Beyond that it was Anthony Davis in the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Summit Lake Hornets’ (close enough), Quincy Acy in the Air Jordan V ‘Metallic’, Meyers Leonard in a limited Nike Zoom KDIV colorway, and much more. Click through for the full shots and stay with Sneaker News to see if these fits translate to the court come the start of the 2012-13 season.

Part of the answer to the latter topic was ‘Foamposites’, and just a day after our short interview, he was spotted wearing the Air Foamposite Pro ‘Crimson’ while sharing a photo with guest-performer Wale (who wore the Air More Uptempo ‘Olympic’). Will Davis, who noted a possible ‘signature shoe’ during his discussions with Nike, be seen out and about with more Nike footwear now that he’s officially on their roster? Check out Anthony Davis and Wale below and let us know what sort of potential AD has with the Swoosh. Photo: axgilbert
