ASICS GEL SAGA The Asics Gel Saga is a running silhouette from Asics that first released in 1990. The Asics Gel Saga has been one of the primary retro/lifestyle choices in the Asics collection, offering up a more straightforward design in contrast with the split tongue Asics Gel Lyte III.

Ronnie Fieg‘s last collaborative release was with the likes of another storied running brand, with him and his Kith team now getting back in bed with the imprint they’ve been most prolific with over the years: Asics. The silhouette selected is another Asics Gel Saga, apparently set to be known as the “Neptune”. Colorway-wise the pair lands somewhere in between his ‘Cove’ classics and his darker ‘Navy Aqua’ pair of Asics Gel Lyte III’s. The availability as far as Asics Gel Saga collaborative projects go has waxed and waned over the past week or so, with word arriving that the Solebox x Asics pairs had apparently been nixed followed up quickly by the surfacing of an upcoming Foot Patrol version. Things have been steady over on the inline options with the latest offering being this orange blaze colorway, one that we previewed a while back as part of a psuedo-pack together with an Asics Gel Lyte III bearing the same combo. The Asics Gel Saga ‘Orange Blaze’ is up for grabs now, so hit the jump with us to see all the angles and import them if you so desire from Germany’s own Afew.

Once a lost memory in the Onitsuka Tiger archives, the Asics Gel Saga has been thoroughly resurrected over the past year, having excelled in OG bringback colorways, new collaborative designs and in-house projects alike. This newest colorup comes courtesy of London-based boutique Foot Patrol, another luxurious suede take on this classic silo that might draw comparisons to the early ’00s ‘Curry’ Air Max 1 B thanks to its rich earthy coloring and royal accents. The Foot Patrol x Asics Gel Saga offers a golden brown look that’s perfect for fall but really plays well in any season. They’re slated to release in the September/October range, so check out a few other images after the jump and check back with Sneaker News for the official release date. via Onemesh

German sneaker supplier Solebox is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Exactly one month ago today, the Berlin-based boutique published a retrospective on its many collaborative designs, and though only one of those designs (in two versions) came in conjunction with the Onitsuka Tiger, that glow in the dark Gel Lyte III was one of the late ’00s drops that helped set the stage for Ronnie Fieg’s seemingly overnight success. Unfortunately for fans of that pair, it appears the upcoming Solebox x Asics six-pack may never see the light of day, with rumors swirling that two pairs each of Solebox x Asics Gel Lyte IIIs, Gel Sagas and GT-IIs may become one of the largest and most impressive sets of shelved sneakers in recent memory. Click through to get a look at what could have been (and might still have a chance to be?), let us know if you would have copped and stick with Sneaker News for updates.

Sneaker News gave you proof earlier in the form of an upcoming Gel Lyte II: Asics isn’t solely hunting for guest designers, and now we see another addition to a drop that’d be right at home once the fall season is upon us. These aren’t another in the long and still growing line of camouflage sneakers, but rather an allusion to the high-visibility garb worn by outdoorsmen to alert one another to the presence of a fellow hunter. The Asics Gel Saga pictured above shares Orange Blaze accents with that aforementioned GL3, but its use of a larger percentage of black on the upper pushes these in the direction of Halloween. Yet another reason these would be perfectly timed for the fall season, so check out more shots below and stick with Sneaker News for word on US availability. via Sneaker Freaker

We’ve shown you both of each their GT-IIs and Gel Lyte IIIs, so what does the PYS-affiliated Bait retail spot have on tap as the fifth member of its Asics ‘Rings Pack’ collaboration? The Bait x Asics Gel Saga features a simple black/grey/white design that’s easily the calmest of the five, a subtle look befitting the only silo chosen just once for this quintet. They also happen to reside in a section of the color wheel that’s been arguably the single most popular this spring; might this premium perfed-out Gel Saga have what it takes to beat the other four Asics x Bait collabos to the finish line? Stick with Sneaker News to find out when they release and check out detailed images of this pair (including the golden footbed) below. via Sneaker Freaker

That little detail about 24 Kilates’ latest sneaker collaboration conspicuously not including an alcoholic component? Go ahead and forget about that. Just as much as we’ve come to expect excellent execution from their designs, we can reasonably predict a liquid pack-in, and now comes word that the Feria de Abril-inspired 24 Kilates x Asics Gel Saga will indeed offer a limited special edition package complete with a bottle of the world’s best-selling Sherry brand. 60 sets will include a bottle of Tio Pepe complete with the company’s signature anthropomorphism, hat and jacket details applied to the vessel as well as the tiny hangtags crafted in that same shape. The level of detail here is impressive as always, so click through to see more of 24 Kilates’ Gel Saga and its Tio Pepe finishing touches and let us know if you’ll try to get one of these exclusive packages.

A tradition in Spanish culture is the Feria De Abril (Seville Fair) – a six day-long experience that begins two weeks after the Easter Holy Week. Part of the festivities includes a parade with carriages and riders, transporting significant citizens of Seville to the history La Real Maestranza, where bullfighters and breeders meet. 24 Kilates’ Gel Saga project was inspired by the celebratory tradition that stretches back to 1847; this photoshoot, which takes place at La Real Maestranza, accentuates the rich history behind Feria de Abril, as it features rich green, red, and gold tones that visually represent the upcoming celebration, which will begin on April 24th. The release of the shoes will take place on April 28th in-store at 24 Kilates, with a select number of pairs hitting other Euro retailers on May 5th.
