The next stop on the Asics x Ronnie Fieg express represents a lap back around as the ‘Super Red 2′ GT-II reprises a theme he utilized on the Gel Lyte III back in 2009. But before we arrive at those red suede classics, Fieg’s retail spot in New York has just received a shipment of Asics classics that were previously only available in Europe. The Cordura-constructed ‘Yin & Yang’ Asics Gel Lyte III go for that black and/or white look that’s been killing it this spring, a GT-II opts for equal simplicity but navy instead of black, and all this simple styling leaves the neon-accented Gel Sagas to steal the show. Check out all four pairs after the jump and look for these now at Kith NYC.

Ronnie Fieg’s influence in the competitve New York City sneaker game has become a permanent mark of sorts, experiencing a considerable level or notoriety in such an astoundingly short span of time. It hasn’t been half a year yet, and NYMAG just named KITH in Brooklyn one of the best sneaker shops in all of the five boroughs, touting an ‘upscale’ vibe in comparison to the hectic scene in the SoHo/Lower Manhattan shopping district. In the spread of sneakers available at KITH (for the NYMAG feature) was an interesting pair of the Asics GT-II in navy blue and red; this upcoming Ronnie Fieg collaboration is placed among some good company – the recent ‘Rose Gold’ release and the Mazarine Blue, as well as some Euro-exclusive joints. No word on when the release is, or even if Fieg will go two GT-IIs in a row, but you know we’ll keep you updated!

Given the pace he was keeping in 2011, it seemed like only a matter of time before the world got a peek at the next sneaker in the line from the ongoing Ronnie Fieg x Asics team up. Judging by this photo from his twitter, Fieg is getting away from the split-tongue set up again with a revisit to the Asics GT-II. Astute readers will recall when these popped up on the feet of Theophilus London, or even further back when they slyly showed up in a Kith photoshoot. Suede is again the material of choice, this time in a light salmon color with some hits of baby blue for the accents. Follow us after the jump to get the full look at the latest from Ronnie Fieg, and stick with Sneaker News for release info as soon as it becomes available.

With sneaker resellers causing enough of a push against market elasticity that the best might earn an early retirement, we’ve reached a point in the history of footwear distribution where true regional exclusives are almost a thing of the past. The internet makes it possible to not only hit up overseas retailers, but make connections with likeminded heads across the globe for the expressed purpose of trading sneakers to make your neighbors jealous. The same will also be possible for NYC-area sneakerheads who’ll have a shot at some of Asics’ best fall/winter 2011 releases with this limited drop at both of Ronnie Fieg’s Kith locations in NYC and their online store. This small run includes the three Asics Gel Lyte IIIs that hit Euro retailers last July as well as a black GT-II blocked similarly to the pair that just dropped a couple weeks back. All four will arrive at select additional retailers by mid-February, so click through to see more angles and let us know which pair is best.

Black and gold has long been a popular pick leading up to February thanks to the Black History Month tie in. Whether or not this new Asics GT-II colorway was serendipitously scheduled or explicitly picked to hit around this time for a reason remains unclear, but it’s a good look either way so we’ll take it. Kicking off what is poised to be a big year for Asics, this retro runner sticks with the classic suede and mesh combo, letting the darker tones dominate the upper. The gold sweeps in through the side slashes Asics branding, a look we’ve seen atmos grab for their various Asics team ups. Follow us after the jump for the full look and pick these up from the appropriately named Asphalt Gold in Germany.
