LunarLon has been injected into many Nike Skateboarding designs in order to find the best balance of cushioning and board feel, but what happens when you make an entire deck out of Lunar foam?!  That’s a question being answered at the Nike Innovation Hunt in Japan’s capital city, where art inspired by Nike Flyknit and LunarLon technologies have been tucked away in the latest great sneaker scavenger hunt.  This ‘Volt Collection’ showcase for the newest Nike tech also includes Flyknit Be@rbrick figurines, soccer balls and a fixed gear bike along with LunarLon sculptures including traffic cones, benches and (hilarious) dumbbells.  Have a closer look after the jump, let us know which is your favorite piece and if you have any other ideas that you’d like to see manifested in this style.

Medicom Toy Company has authored five different collaborations with Nike SB over the past decade, and given that the Swoosh skateboarding division is also celebrating ten years in the game, it’s somewhat surprising that we’d see this latest teamup come from a different corner of the Beaverton campus.  But there’s still quite a bit of overlap with the Nike Air Force 1 celebrating its 30th anniversary, these two Be@rbrick 10th anny joints finally making it stateside after an Asia-exclusive stretch in late 2011.  They were only available at the Bearbrick World Tour 2 exhibition in Tokyo until now, but Nike Sportswear is bringing the Brown Bear and Moon Bear-inspired Air Force 1 Lows to their 21 Mercer flagship in New York where you’ll find these available in limited numbers next Saturday, January 21st.

When you’re known as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of collectable items, how do you choose to celebrate ten years running? Medicom Toy Company’s core business dictates a variety of special edition figures, and if you’ve been following the Japanese toymakers for any length of time, you’d know they’re also predisposed to collaborating with Nike. Following years of SB teamups that produced five different rounds of heat, Medicom has come back in 2011 to get up with the Sportswear division, releasing two different two-packs of Nike Air Force 1 Lows. These latest black and brown horsehair designs are inspired by Moon Bear and Brown Bear, respectively, these newest pairs even more limited than those that hit the most select Asian retailers earlier this year. Exclusively selling at the Be@rbrick World Tour 2 exhibition in Tokyo menas these will be hard to come by, but thanks to the magic of the internet, you might be able to find your size available from Kix-Files.

Medicom Toy Company‘s first Bearbrick figure was released in May of 2001 as a free gift to visitors of the World Character Convention 12 in Tokyo, Japan. In the intervening decade, it’s become among the world’s most pouplar vinyl toy collectables, and the parent company has parlayed this status into a series of collaborations with Nike that continue to appreciate in value to this day. The latest Medicom x Nike teamup comes on the same silhouette they released together earlier this spring, the Medicom Toy Company x Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Bearbrick Version’ reprising the same single-colored horsehair look that typified the other two-pack. This duo brings back a black/white design and opts for tonal brown instead of the white/black counterpart back in February, these new drops also bearing evidence of the Be@rbrick 10th anniversary via co-branded insoles. Click through to see more of both pairs and stick with Sneaker News for updates on the potential for US availablility on this Tier Zero drop. via Cliff Edge

Medicom Toy is one of the all-time leaders when it comes to cranking out simple yet satisfying sneaker collaborations, and this latest duo is no exception to that nearly decade-long trend.  The Bearbrick x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star and Jack Purcell are made even more playful thanks to a pristine fuzzy upper that looks like a day off from school filled with fun and your favorite toys.  The Chucks are notable for the addition of an embroidered Be@rbrick logo on the lateral side opposite the traditional medial patch, a smaller version of which can be seen on near the Purcells’ heels.  Check out both pairs in more images after the jump and look for these at select Converse retailers come November.  via HB
