“I think this shoe helps me because it’s lightweight and doesn’t restrict you at all.”
He can’t workout with the other Clippers and signing for a pittance to play overseas would be a flat-out dumb move for a guy with so much potential for a long, illustrious career in the NBA, so the lockout seems to have Blake Griffin playing around with NIKEiD quite a bit this summer. We just showed you the Griffin’s Trainer 1.3 Mid iD he mocked up with a LA-home look and now it’s the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 he helped to usher in that gets the ‘Blake Show’ treatment. BG32 notes in a video that you can see after the jump, that he loves the Hyperdunk 2011′s slimmed down, flexible feel, and apparently he’s not alone. Denver Nuggets guard Ty Lawson “doesn’t wanna have the same thing on as somebody else,” and his rich and creamy HD2k11 will make a nice homecoming present when he returns from playing in Lithuania. Peep the video after the jump and go ahead and get started with your designs, as the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 iD is available today!

Blake Griffin’s vertical leaping ability is so graceful it sometimes seems effortless, but this kind of precise power was built from countless hours of training during the hot Oklahoma summers. Blake has moved to a ‘cooler’ place now that he plays forward for the Los Angeles Clippers, but you know he’s training just as hard if not even harder, this new Nike Trainer 1.3 Mid iD built by BG32 in a style that’d match his home uniforms at Staples Center. Sometimes it takes an earth-shattering colorway to make a great shoe irresistible. Besides the obvious high-performance value, the Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 also has that streetwear appeal, and thanks to colorways like the tonal volt and ‘Think Pink‘ varieties, the Hyperdunk 2011 is definitely a rockable shoe. However, it was that Blake Griffin PE from the 2011 NBA All-Star Game (well, originally intended for the game) that had us week in the knees, and to help kick off the launch of the Zoom Hyperdunk 2011, Nike Basketball will release these beauties for retail. Expect these at 21 Mercer as well as NikeTown, Nikestore online, and House of Hoops or grab a pair now on eBay.

he Nike Hyperdunk series has been among the most popular choices for NBA players since its debut in 2008 when Kobe Bryant was the first to wear the groundbreaking Flywire-reinforced design. Kobe rocked the OG Hyperdunks in the NBA regular seasons sandwiching his contribution to the USAB Olympic gold medal team in 2008 but then departed for his own revolutionary design, leaving the Hyperdunk without a specific signature athlete for a few years.
But then LA Clippers rookie sensation Blake Griffin came along and dunked over a Kia, and now we’re looking at one of the single most significant colorways in the entire series’ history, Griffin’s Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 player exclusive. This earthquake-detailed perfect ’10.0′ comes in a blistering red shade that reveals its crackly texture under the right light, though the same texture always wraps the heel counter and gives way to a unique speckle on the midsole. This seems fitting as the model is now compelling from every literal and figurative angle, but only 30 pairs have popped up on NikeHK’s Skinner Box-like landing page this week; will we get a chance to finish off a similar oop thanks to an assist from US retailers? Click through to see more angles and stick with Sneaker News for word on a possible US release date for the Blake Griffin Hyperdunk 2011. via Kenlu.

Despite missing what would have been his rookie season with a devastating knee injury, Blake Griffin returned in 2010-11 to submit one of the best freshman seasons the NBA has seen in recent memory. Blake rocked the rim no matter who was in his way, be it the massive Mosgov or the more moderately priced sized Kia, and it was the latter of those that made him a household name during February’s 2011 NBA All-Star. Griffin made his famous slam in a pair of Air Max Fly By PEs featuring the same red, black and neon design accented by a variety of ‘Blake-quake’ detailing that appears on the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 he wore during the All-Star Game. There’s one key difference between the game-issued pair and this new edition, though, with Griffin’s ‘BG32′ insignia having replaced the pulse graphic formerly inside the lateral heel counter window. Does that suggest that we could see this model make it to retail, perhaps as a House of Hoops exclusive? No word yet, but you can see more of this model after the jump and be sure to let us know if you’d buy them were Blake Griffin’s Zoom Hyperdunk 2011s to release in the coming months. Thanks r3tro

Just how do you become the face of one of Nike’s most popular Basketball designs? Mercilessly posterize a rookie center, jump over a Kia, and wreak havoc above the rim. Blake Griffin has forced some of the Los Angeles spotlight on himself, dazzling the viewing public with some of the most vicious and crowd-pleasing dunks on a consistent basis, and his All-Star status in his rookie* season has earned him a spot on the Nike Basketball roster as the face of the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011. BG debuted the Hyperdunk 2011 during the 2011 NBA All-Star Game and wore it a few times thereafter, and even gifted a pair of his shoes to Conan O’Brien, when he was a guest on the late-night talk show.
What makes the Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 that much more special is that it’s a complete rehaul from previous designs. It features next-generation Flywire technology, a 3D-shaped glass-reinforced composite midfoot shank for torsional rigidity, Zoom Air at the heel and forefoot, and an external heel counter for optimal stability. The Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 will join the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 at the forefront of the Nike Basketball movement for the 2011-12 NBA season, but you can have yours when the Hyperdunk 2011 releases in August. We’ve got detailed images of two new colorways as well as a look at designer Leo Chang’s preliminary sketches below so check ‘em out and get ready to ball!

Blake Griffin was one of Conan O’Brien’s guests during last night’s show, which came at a pretty opportune time (Blake was just awarded the 2010-2011 Rookie Of The Year award). Although he doesn’t have a Nike signature shoe (yet), Blake Griffin seems to be the unofficial poster-boy for the Nike Hyperdunk 2011, as he’s worn the shoe during the 2011 NBA All Star Game, as well as during regular season games. Last night, Blake gave Mr. Coco an autographed pair of the yet-to-release Nike Hyperdunk 2011 in size 17, autographed and all. If you missed out on last night’s show, we’ve got Blake’s segment after the jump, so get ready for some laughs and let us know if you think he’s got what it takes to eventually pull off his own signature Nike model in the future.

How does one bounce back from a season-ending injury? One can either return as a shell of his former self, approaching the game with apprehension, or explode onto the scene and dominate the above-the-rim game like Blake Griffin did. After sitting out the entire 09-10 campaign, Blake Griffin became somewhat of an afterthought due to the big free-agency movement (and the fact that the Clippers rarely get any attention). Well, Blake definitely grabbed our attention with his insane dunks, veteran-like production on the stat-sheet, and unprecedented poise and maturity, and after running the table of Western Conference Rookie of the Month awards, he officially became the league’s best rookie last night. Nike Basketball took notice during the course of the season as he was outfitted with some sweet PEs during the 2011 NBA All Star Dunk Contest, and served as a debut exhibit for the Nike Hyperdunk 2011. Blake has the Clippers back on the NBA radar, but he’s not finished there, because he’ll certainly be a force to be reckoned with for the next decade. Congratulations to Blake Griffin and a successful first season of ‘The Blake Show’!
