Derek Jeter’s teammate and fellow Jordan Brand athlete C.C. Sabathia has also got his own collection of Jordan Player Exclusives. Although Sabathia’s list of career achievements isn’t quite up to par with Jeter, he may have Jeter beat in terms on-field gear, because Sabathia regularly sports Air Jordan Cleat PEs, like this Air Jordan IV. It’s got a tonal black suede upper with Yankee ‘Away’ grey accents, with C.C.’s ’52′ jersey number stitched in white on the upper ankle. These aren’t exactly brand new though; you might remember the Yankee ace wear these during the Opening Day game against the Red Sox in 2010. We’ve got more images for you below, so check ‘em out and let us know what you think. via JordansDaily.

New York Yankees ace C.C. Sabathia started the 2011 season off in style, pitching from the Yankees Stadium mound on opening day wearing a cleated player exclusive Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’. Sabathia seems to be a huge fan of the Elevens, having also pitched in the ‘Cool Grey’ and ‘Space Jam’ editions, but all of those have had metal spikes attached to their soles. Here’s a look at a model that C.C. would be more likely to wear while preparing for a game, the Air Jordan XI Turf Trainer. These babies take the Concord upper and pair it with a spikey turf sole like the ones that have typified Nike turf trainers since the mid-’90s (and also appeared on Sabathia’s AJF5 PEs). Click through for a closer view and let us know how these compare to the other baseball and football cleat versions of the Air Jordan 11 we’ve seen here on Sneaker News. via Jordans Daily

The New York Yankees started their 2011 campaign with lefty Ace C.C. Sabathia taking the mound. Sabathia, one of the few Jordan Brand athletes in Major League Baseball, took the field with a Player Exclusive Cleat version of the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’. This isn’t the first time he wore these cleated beauties, as he wore the Concords both in 2009 and in 2010. Will these be enough to give him the strength to bang out a quality outing and give the Yankees their first W of the season? Check out the extra shot of C.C.’s cleats as well a look at his last outing with the Concords (from 2009) after the jump and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more MLB Feet coverage throughout the 2011 season.

New York Knicks basketball isn’t only relevant, it’s the hottest thing right now! With nine wins in the last ten games and Amare Stoudemire outplaying every other big-name free agent that switched teams, Knicks basketball has 33rd and 8th looking like Times Square. Of course, the celebrities came out to watch the Knicks play their uptempo, like New York Yankees Ace C.C. Sabathia. He’s been out and about and on the field with Air Jordans – this time with the upcoming Air Jordan XI ‘Cool Grey’ retro. He’s worn the Cool Grey cleats during the season opener against the Red Sox and before he gears up for the new season, C.C.’s taking time off to enjoy some New York basketball. Sitting beside him were Gold-medal figure skater Evan Lysacek, designer Vera Wang, TV-personality Terrence J, and R&B star Brandy, so check out C.C., his kicks, and his celeb pals after the jump.

New York Yankees Ace C.C. Sabathia got the nod for Game 1 for the American League Division Series against the Minnesota Twins. During his 6-inning winning performance, Sabathia wore a cleated version of the Air Jordan XI Space Jam. Sabathia’s been spotted with Air Jordan cleats during the regular season as well as off the field (of course the non-cleated version), like when C.C. wore Bred XIs during a trip to Dr. Jays in Midtown, Manhattan. Sabathia started Game 1 of the 2009 ALDS, during which he wore a cleated version of the Air Jordan XI Concord. Sabathia’s got some special pairs in his closet – what else is he going to break out for the remainder of the Playoffs? Check out C.C.’s Space Jam cleats after the jump and let us know what you think. via Yahoo!

New York Yankees Ace C.C. Sabathia took the D train downtown from 161st to hit up Dr. Jays earlier today, and being the newest Jordan Brand team member, C.C. rocked a pair of the Air Jordan XI Bred with a matching t-shirt and track pants. Jordan clothing is known to run larger than normal, but for it to run long for a 6’7″ 290 pounder is pretty impressive. Sabathia’s worn some great Jordan cleats this season already – his Cool Grey Air Jordan XI Cleats being the most memorable – so check out a close-up of his feet after the jump. via Juice’s SN Blog.

The 2010 MLB Season officially launched yesterday night as the World Champion New York Yankees took on their long-time rival Boston Red Sox in Fenway Park. What should’ve been a pitching duel resulted in a slugfest, with the Beantown Sox coming out on top with some late-inning clutch hitting. Yankees Ace C.C. Sabathia whipped out two pairs of heat for the game; he began his start wearing a cleat version of the Air Jordan XI Cool Grey and changed to a black/white colorway of the Air Jordan IV before being pulled out of the game in inning 6. C.C. is a certified Jordanhead, as you might recall the sick pair of Air Jordan XI Concord cleats he wore during the playoffs last year, so stick with Sneakers News and we’ll give you the lowdown on future cleat heat. via ESPN.
