Jordan Melo M9 – Spring 2013 Preview

jordan melo m9 2013 Jordan Melo M9 Spring 2013 Preview

Expectations are at an all-time high for Carmelo Anthony, who at 28 years old is nearing the peak of his professional career and feeling the mounting pressure from his fellow ’03 Draft classmates. Momentum is definitely on Melo’s side; his MVP-like performance at the 2012 Olympics and unstoppable play at the end of the ’12 season should most certainly carry over to the upcoming campaign, with some experts projecting the Brooklyn-born star having the best season of his career. He’ll ease into the new season wearing the Melo M8 Advance, which features a full Hyperfuse upper, but come 2013, he’ll will be ready to move on up to the all-new M9 model, crafted once again by Jordan Brand designer Justin Taylor.

Using the all-new Dynamic Fit Flywire system, the Jordan Melo M9 can adapt to any fit making it a true 1-through-5 performance basketball sneaker while complying with Melo’s strict guidelines for a snugly-fitting shoe – a direct inspiration from the high-tech suit of Iron Man. The highlight of the design is clearly the external Flywire ribbon-like cables that extend outwards above the shell, but what you can’t see is that it actually scoops below the foot-bed, creating a true unique fit tailored to how tightly you adjust your laces. Visible Zoom Air is the benchmark of the cushion system of the M9, with a downwardly-protruding  fore-foot Zoom Air unit providing a supportive crash pad when the foot strikes the ground.

What makes the Melo M9 a unique standout from its predecessors is that it was designed with that ‘New York’ State of mind – meaning it was the first shoe that was conceived with Carmelo as an official Knick. The NBA Lockout allowed him some extra time to hang around the Jordan Brand headquarters and trade ideas with Taylor, and the intricate designs cues laid out by Melo are clear in the design; the aforementioned ‘Iron Man’ inspiration and Melo’s love for high-end watches have been transferred impeccably onto the Melo M9 concept, resulting in a high-octane package of style and performance fitting of the Jordan Brand standard. The Jordan Melo M9 will debut this January 2013, so enjoy the preview of Melo’s ninth signature model below and give us your thoughts on this latest chapter of the Jordan Brand x Carmelo Anthony connection.

Winning a Gold Medal, doing charitable works in Puerto Rico, being on the cover of SLAM Magazine – Carmelo Anthony is making all the right moves this offseason. He’s certainly making those moves in the right shoes, because he’s been spotted yet again with the sickly sweet red nubuck Air Jordan IV in this photo by SLAM. Not much more can be said about the shoe, unless Jordan Brand decides to appease the public by making the red nubucks a release in 2012. A full shot of Jordan Brand’s top-flight athlete in what’s proving to be one of the most talked about sneakers right now is just below, so give them a look and let us know if you think these tonal-red AJ4s should hit the market.

Much ado was made about Carmelo Anthony’s trade to the New York Knicks; it was more than just a blockbuster trade that played a role in the shift of balance between the two coastal conferences of the NBA, but a homecoming for the star who was born in the boroughs. The massive billboard at the corner of 34th and 7th hinted at a Knicks return to the competitive 90′s era, and if the last few months are any indication, Melo appears poised to bring the Knicks back into Championship contention. Knicks faithful will likely see these on their star’s feet during Home games, but you can cop your own pair of the Jordan Melo M8 Advance right now at Nikestore.

Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire in Air Jordans in Puerto Rico

Part of Carmelo Anthony’s trip to Puerto Rico this past weekend included a charity softball game, attended by several of his teammates like Amare Stoudemire and Raymond Felton and New York Yankees great Bernie Williams. Melo and Amare were spotted with some Air Jordans on – Melo with the 2011 Air Jordan III ‘Black History Month’ and STAT with the recently dropped White/Red Air Jordan IV. As we near Training Camp for the 2012-13 NBA Season, look for a rejuvenated Carmelo and a spry Amare (who is most certainly poised for a bounce-back season) this upcoming campaign. More of the Knicks stars after the jump, so take a look and let us know what you think of their ‘feet’ selection!

Air Jordan IV “Red Nubuck”

Not long after bringing home a Gold Medal, Jordan Brand athlete Carmelo Anthony showed off his latest top-shelf additions – a ring of Air Jordan IV colorways that at this juncture were just a PE/special edition made for the star athlete. Not even a peep regarding a release has been made, but in light of the recent confirmation of the Air Jordan IV ‘Thunder’, it’s safe to say that anything’s game at this point. More recently, Carmelo Anthony, who just finished a nice weekend in Puerto Rico promoting the game of basketball while giving back to the community, was spotted wearing the most energizing of his Air Jordan IV stash – the tonal red colorway that drew instant comparisons to the much-coveted Air Jordan V ‘Raging Bull’. These are clearly built with nubuck materials (like the Cavs IV) rather than the aforementioned suede, but does it matter? These would fly off the shelves in an instant. Let’s hope this public sighting is a step toward a release, so in the meantime, let us know if you’d cop these Retros in the comments section below.

Jordan Melo B’Mo

September 11th, 2012 by | 2 comments

jordan melo b mo Jordan Melo BMo

The city of Baltimore has always had heavy presence in Carmelo Anthony’s signature line with Jordan Brand. In fact, the earliest ad campaign put forth by Jordan Brand to energize the Melo line was ‘Be More’, which dutifully served as both an inspirational message and a tribute to Melo’s childhood rots. Although Carmelo’s return to New York City last year was interpreted as a true ‘homecoming’ of sorts, there’s no denying that Baltimore played as much of a role in creating the legend of Melo as he spent most of his formative basketball years there. Jordan Brand is releasing a Melo-branded performance model in the Summer of 2013 called the Jordan Melo B’Mo; it features a rather simplistic upper with what appears to be a lightweight mesh upper panel, the Jumpman logo at the ankle, and Melo’s logo on the tongue. Will we see an expansion of the Melo and CP3 line considering a certain third Jordan Brand athlete might not be in the mix anymore?

Jordan Melo M8 Advance – Release Date

jordan melo m8 advance release date 3 Jordan Melo M8 Advance Release Date

Is Carmelo Anthony the most dangerous player in the game right now? No disrespect to any of the Team USA ballers, but Carmelo finished off the season on an absolute tear, was lighting up every rim in London, and is heading into the upcoming season in the best shape of his career. It wasn’t widely publicized but Melo did in fact wear a new sneaker during the Gold Medal Game – the Jordan Melo M8 Advance; it’s the Melo M8 structure with a Hyperfuse shell, built on top of the outrageously comfortable cushioning (seriously, one of the best of 2012). The colorways we showed you before like the ‘Knicks’ and the energetic ‘Italian Icy’ might be a bit region-specific, but the USA is one that anyone and everyone can get down with this Saturday, when the Advance is set for its first release. Let’s hope Melo can continue his run this upcoming season, so let us know how you think the Knicks will fare this season and cop the Advance this Saturday.
