Concepts x Brooks Running “Merlot”

Concepts have broke the mold with their latest collaboration creation, which links them up with an unlikely partner in Brooks. That brand’s recently introduced retro range is already the subject of some themed colorways thanks to the Boston shop, who whipped up the Concepts x Brooks Running “Merlot”. The connection here is that Brooks calls Washington state home, and that state just happens to be one of the largest produces of Merlot grapes and wine in the US. The shoes have a transformative feel that transitions from the navy to the blue color of the grape to the final Merlot shade of the beverage in question. See more photos on them below and watch for the Brooks Chariot “Merlot” to release at Concepts on Saturday, September 13th in-store at 9AM and online at 10AM EST.

Concepts x adidas Originals – Teaser

concepts adidas Concepts x adidas Originals Teaser

While Concepts is quite the prolific sneaker shop when it comes to collaborations, we can’t remember them ever having an official adidas Originals project (The House of Pain shoe that launched there doesn’t quite count). It looks like all that will change soon enough, as a teaser just showed up promising a forthcoming project between the two. Other than that the details are slim – you’ll see some snake texture in the background as the only inclination of what to expect. Feel free to take some guesses down in the comments and stay tuned to Sneaker News to find out more on the team up.

Hats off to Boston’s Concepts for going left-field on their latest collaboration and linking up with an entity that hasn’t really seen any previous team up love in the retro space. Meet the CNCPTS x Brooks Chariot, a shoe that has that ancient runner looking rather luxurious with its mixture of supple suedes across the upper and its leather lining. Tell us down in the comments if you’re keen on the idea of Brooks collabs and watch for these to release at Concepts on September 13th, 2014.

CNCPTS has been steadily raising the bar in a landscape where sneaker collaborations are no lo longer few and far in-between. The Cambridge-based boutique has managed to stand out with its outstanding concepts, laying the groundwork with some rich history that pull in from untold stories of the brands. At the same time, Ewing Athletics is embarking on its first-ever brand collaboration, and the goal is to start off with a bang of sorts – and no better than this particular shop to get off on the right foot.

This new design is inspired by Rindge & Latin, Patrick Ewing’s High School colors; a solid black, a soft grey, reflective 3M, and earthy gum soles comprise the core of this new 33 Hi release, which represent the start of the Hall of Fame Center’s hoops career. The Concepts x Ewing 33 Hi will release this Saturday, August 23rd at the store, with special guest Patrick Ewing attending to meet and greet fans who come through, so get a first look at Ewing’s first sneaker/store partnership below and stay tuned for a new collab-filled chapter in the brand’s history.

Is Ewing Athletics going back even further into Patrick Ewing’s past with this upcoming Concepts collaboration? We’ve seen a Georgetown pair already, so maybe this upcoming model will reference his Cambridge Rindge and Latin School that’s not too far from the connected sneaker shop in Cambridge. No word on a release date just yet or even which silhouette has been selected, but you can watch here for that info. Feel free to guess down in the comments regarding the theme behind this special project that’s been revealed right on Ewing’s birthday.

There is another Concepts x Asics Gel Lyte V project on the way. This one will be releasing on August 9th and features a similar approach in terms of the suede/reflective setup. What’s not similar is the set of colors used – in contrast to the stony set from last time, these use a tan base and some purple and green accents. No word on a theme just yet, but CNCPTS did sort of let the last one come and go without saying too much on that matter. Continue reading for the full teaser photos on the latest Concepts Asics project and give us your reactions down in the comments.
