Sneaker News just showed you the Dookie-inspired lowtop Chuck Taylors on a Tuesday that marked the release of the first of three new Green Day albums, which also marks a roughly eighteen year period during which lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong has appeared on stage wearing All Stars more than all other footwear options combined. Fitting, then, that the Green Day x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star tour rolls on with another date, as today a design derived from album art for ¡Uno! arrives in a boldly patterned green/pink ensemble. Let us know how the stripes compare to the Missoni collabos we also just previewed, or whether the Gorillaz capsule would be a better comparison, then find the Uno All Stars available straight from Converse.

Sneaker ads have evolved to the point where they either seamlessly blend into your web surfing experience, or absolutely captivate you to the point where DVRs seem unnecessary. But back when the printed word was at its peak, full-page ads in magazines used to be one of the most popular ways to tease a new release. Here’s a look at an interesting ‘collaboration’ of sorts from 2001, when mag ad geniuses Absolut got in on the sneakerhead craze before the Nike SB craze helped to usher in the current wave. ’Absolut Obsession’ has the familiar Swedish vodka bottle shape in play as per the usual, but what’s so remarkable about this particular iteration is both that it’s crafted entirely in kicks, and that so many of them represent old school Reebok heat. Have a look at the full ad below, let us know which pairs you’ve owned and if you remember seeing this Serge Paulet photo in its first run. You can also check out a Nike collector’s re-creation of the classic ad after the jump as well.

By now, we all know that Billie Joe Armstrong isn’t Justin Bieber, but for those of us who’ve been around long enough to remember when his band Green Day burst onto the scene, that was never in question. A whole new generation of music fans will recognize the lead singer/guitarist thanks to Armstrong’s meltdown this weekend at the iHeart Radio Music Festival, but these elder statesmen of the ’90s alt-rock scene have been famous for almost two decades (and pajama rich for nearly as long, having toured non-stop and sold over 65 million albums worldwide). Celebrating nearly twenty years since Dookie‘s cartoon cover showed up alongside every longhaired kid’s Discman, the Green Day x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star is the latest to apply legendary album art to the timeless canvas silo. Let us know these compare to earlier rock releases and stick with Sneaker News because although the Dookie XX celebration won’t happen until February, 2014, it’s a safe bet these won’t make it half that long before we’re taken away to paradise.

A collaboration so ‘Euro’ it should be emblazoned with classic architecture, the latest Chuck Taylor teamup is arriving now at select retailers. Swedish-born Portuguese artist André Saraiva brings the style that made him famous in Paris to a new collab with French fashion magazine Purple on the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star. Andre honors the All Star’s All-American traditions with simple canvas builds that add a second patch to the lateral ankles of the eponymously-accented style. The pink pair keeps things simple save the bold tongue tag (which features Monsieur A on the reverse) and matching pink laces and outsoles, and these two pairs (but not the suddenly mysterious ‘Night’ edition) are available now at Converse First String retailers like Foot Patrol.

Undefeated crafted their Poorman Weapon collabo with Converse in five different military-inspired colorups, so might we be looking at an Olympic flag’s worth of designs for this latest team effort? The timing is a bit off for an Oly tribute, but the presence of an all-white edition after the first UNDFTD x fragment design x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star arrived this winter in all-red makes us curious about the future for this trio. This particular design has the extra oomph from a completely ‘dipped’ template, a crisp style that echoes the character-filled Chucks of yore but with a contemporary construction whose tri-branding indicates their era of origin. These should arrive at select retailers shortly, so stick with Sneaker News for word on US availability along with updates on further releases.

The Converse All Star Hi Mountain Parka takes on the look of classic cold weather outerwear, combining what looks to be a more rugged weight of the traditional Chuck Taylor canvas with a heel cinch for the hood effect. Corded laces, tonal toecaps and distinct caramel medial patches make these another premium quality standout from Converse Japan and you can see all three after the jump below.
