It makes sense that during a period when animal prints are at an all-time high, the concealment patterns that hunters use to stalk their prey are also quite popular. This new Converse Jack Purcell features the traditional canvas build, but instead of opting for a simple four-color(-ish) camouflage print, these live up to their ‘Olive Branch’ nickname and extend green’s good will across the entire upper. This tonally verdant design looks great with pristine white laces and soles and you can see them up close in more photos after the jump before you head out to a Converse retailer like Kith for your pair today.

To ‘garment dye’ a piece of clothing is to first assemble the product in its raw form, then have it colored to your liking as one of the final steps before they ship to retail. This technique results in an intense coloration that’s predisposed to fading and thus, a custom-fit look, so if you didn’t already have enough reasons that the Converse Jack Purcell should be a part of your regular rotation, the 1 of 1 aged appeal pushes them over the top. The Jack Purcell has a surprisingly comfortable footbed hiding inside its ‘smile’-toed sole and at a pricetag of only sixty bucks, you can afford to get all three of the colorups now available at Kith.

Converse got its start one hundred-four and a half years ago, and thanks to their timing, the designs for which they’re best known now serve as standards around which much of modern athletic footwear is based. Plenty of brands have created their own versions, but there’s still nothing like a fresh pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars or Jack Purcells anywhere else in the industry. And now that the Converse ♥ Marimekko collection has become as much a regular as John Varvatos’ vintage stylings, not only do you get the genuine article of classic American style, but the designs are pushed over the edge by today’s most creative fashion minds. Click through to see these as well as the Premium Boot selections and stick with Sneaker News for updates as this fall 2012 capsule is arriving at retailers as we speak.

We’ve sneakers inspired by classic cars and designed in collaboration with upcale hotels, but this new drop from Converse looks to the skies for one of the more unique ‘collabo’ capsules we’ve seen this year. The One Star examines the impact of 1978′s Airline Deregulation Act in this set of Braniff International x Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars and Jack Purcells. Decked out in colors copied from ads that served as the basis for American Apparel’s ironic, stark sexiness, these kicks take you up in the air and back in time to a period when Chucks only came in a handful of colors. Times have changed and Braniff’s closure in ’82 was just the start of consolidation in the airline industry, but the true classics always keep their value. Click through to see more of this iconic American mashup and be ready when they touch down in Japan this July. via HS

Converse and UNDFTD is a duet we should definitely hear lots and lots about in the coming years. However, up until this point, most of their work has been focused on Converse’s sport heritage models – the Pro Leathers, the Weapons, etc.; with that said, this latest unveiling of the UNDFTD for Converse Jack Purcell capsule covers even more ground as it touches on the clean Lifestyle sector with this upcoming Converse First String release. Arriving in three colorways (red, white, black) anchored by navy/red racing stripes on the midsole, the UNDFTD x Converse Jack Purcell should easily nudge its way into all sneaker rotations this Summer – it’s just got that undeniable ‘ease’ to it. Collect these at select Converse and Converse First String accounts beginning this Friday, May 25th, at $55 a pair.

The process of ‘garment dying’ involves fully dipping an item in pigment, which results in a rich product that’s predisposed to fading upon first wash. But the Converse Jack Purcell Garment Dye probably won’t end up in your washer, this tomato red canvas lowtop far better suited to your summertime leisure activities and the inevitable ‘character’ they accrue along the way. The initial drops a couple years back came in six different colors including a different shade of red, so we can only hope that a similar variety will follow these. This is a perfect sneaker to make the point of wearing hard to give it a personalized look, and you’ll find more photos after the jump before you grab one at SNS.

How do you keep a three-quarter-centuries-old badminton sneaker relevant in a world where new technology is making kicks perform and look better than ever before? If you’re Converse, it all starts with acquiring the Jack Purcell trademark rights some forty years ago and elevating it to the heights of its ubiquitous Chuck Taylor All Star. Then a little over a year and a half ago, the One Star introduced the Jack Purcell Johnny variant with a new ‘seatbelt’ addition giving the toe ‘smile’ a run for this design’s signature element. Add it all up and crank a set out through the company’s top-tier division and you end up with something exquisite like these Converse First String Jack Purcell Johnnys that pair a translucent reinforcement with microstriped uppers for the kind of subtle yet attention grabbing look that’ll have you staring until you realize that, yes, those are tortoise shell eyelets. Quite a lot of nice details from such a simple, classic design, a sure indication that these will move quickly from First String stores like Up There.

The past couple months have been a bit of a wild ride material-wise for the Converse Jack Purcell. They got the fuzzy wuzzy treatment thanks to Medicom, and later showed up with a woven tweed look. Turns out there’s more where that came from, as the All Star brand is rolling out the Converse Jack Purcell Veludo, a low top joint with textured velvet for the upper. The debut pairs come in red and black respectively, making these surprisingly low key for a sneaker with such an audacious choice of materials. Stick with us after the jump for a full look at the Converse Jack Purcell Veludo. These can be had now at Converse’ Japanese web presence.
