For 2012, Converse selected the Pro Leather as the footwear darling of its heritage line-up, releasing in several Retro-styled colorways and collaborative projects over the course of the year. While the one-of-23 Pro Leathers autographed by Jordan is likely the rarest and most sought-after of the bunch, Stussy NYC’s patchwork joints were definitely the highlight among the attainable pairs. This latest teaser video gives us insight on a third ‘patchwork’ release, setting aside the plaids and corduroys used in the first batch and opting for various elements of camouflage prints. Peep the full video after thejump and stay tuned for a release that’s set to go down before year’s end.

It’s been an incredible second half of 2012 for the Pro Leather in both high and lowtop form, as both Converse themselves and several First String collaborators have contributed to a ton of simple yet attractive colorways arriving over the past few months. Stussy’s patchwork design is likely still the most eye-catching and unique of them all, but these new designs from one of Boston’s best manages to shake things up as well, both for the silo and its guest designer. These Bodega x Converse First String Pro Leathers stray from what we’ve come to expect from BDGA over the years, but the application of the pony hair from high fashion items makes quite the impact whether it’s the all-over hightops, or the heel-striped lows. Both are ready for the Black Friday fracas with pyramid studs that have the ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ vibe associated with the (uncut) snake insignia on their tongue , so have a closer look after the jump and let us know if these make it onto your must-have list. Get ahead of the curve when these go online Thursday night at midnight, or if you miss the chance to cop via smartphone while in line elsewhere, they’ll be in-store on Friday.

It was only used sparingly during the first few years Nike Inc. owned Converse, but now the Pro Leather has risen to such heights in recent months, it’s even surpassed Nike Sportswear’s iconic Blazer in the second half of this year. Many new colorways have arrived courtesy of the One Star’s in-house designers in addition to notable collaborations with sneaker/streetwear cornerstones Undefeated, Stussy and Patta, and those First String teamups will continue with at least two as yet unrevealed designs. In the middle, we have the CLOT x Converse First String Pro Leather in vintage-treated high and lowtop canvas styles, a look that promptly sold out in Hong Kong on the first of the month and is available for what you can expect will be a fairly short while now at Hanon.

Undefeated and Converse are apparently in it together for the long run, the sneaker boutique and that classic American brand recently dropping off a couple more styles for their Fall/Winter 2012 collection. Included in the ‘Born Not Made’ capsule is the Converse Star Player and Converse Pro Leather, both coming in high and ox variations. Click through with Sneaker News to take a peek at all four pairs and keep in mind you can cop these at all UNDFTD locations right now, as well as on their webstore.

It’s not going to take SOTY consideration away from the Air Force 1, but there’s no other retro basketballer enjoying as many colorways in the second half of 2012 as the Converse Pro Leather. With a string of high-profile collaborations and some dope in-house throwbacks that have the Pro Leather positioned as a viable alternative to the Nike Blazer, this 1970s classic is in a position to try some new things. One of those is a look we just saw on the Blazer LR, a tasseled kiltie at the base of the tongue. Add in diamond quilting (a totally different approach than Stussy’s patchwork styling) along the sides of this Taffy and Golden Yellow suede style and you’ve got a unique take on a classic available now at retailers like Eastbay.

Much like Reebok’s Classic Leather and the Puma Suede, the Converse Pro Leather is a recognized icon that frequently deviates from the materials you’d expect from its name. In this particular case, it’s the suede we’ve seen in a variety of pleasing colorways of late, but thanks to CLOT’s eye for vintage good looks, the red/white combinations have been made rustier and have a well-aged vibe about them. They’ll arrive at Juice’s retail locations and their e-store along with a couple of matching tees following a Thursday, November 1st launch event at the Hong Kong door, continuing the string of Pro Leather First String collaborations that’s included Stussy and Patta (and don’t forget about those Aloha Rag joints), and will later add Bodega and St. Alfred. Stick with Sneaker News for updates on those and let us know which of the three sets we’ve seen is best so far.

While their brick-and-mortar retail spot is closed at the moment, don’t expect the folks at Patta to discontinue their influence on urban lifestyle footwear and fashion. Just yesterday, Patta teased a collaboration with Converse for October 27th, and it’s just been revealed that it’s the Pro Leather, the 2012 darling for Converse heritage models. Arriving in both the High and Low build, Patta takes an earthy approach by building the uppers with sturdy Cordura nylon uppers in Tan and Green. The High features a solid dark-purple sole with purple/pink detailing on the interior and Patta tongue-label, while the Low pairs the green with a purple velour lining and purple/white tongue labels. October 27th is the release date for the Patta x Converse First String Pro Leather so give them a look below.

The Converse Pro Leather has enjoyed a tremendous resurgence in 2012, including a variety of collaborations as well as new colorways straight from the One Star. The classic basketball look returns with a huge new set for the holiday season, and unlike a model like the Nike Blazer, this old school court hightop’s ‘Suede’ suffix is no longer merely a reference to its material of choice. The Pro Leather Suede now features a modified shape that touches everything from the Star/Chevron logo to new overlay elements on the heel and ankle collar. Ten new drops range from simply styled to slightly grungy (no word yet on a possible John Varvatos influence on the latter), and you can see them all after the jump below.
