Nick Trapasso had a good run in a Chuck Taylor-inspired signature for Converse Skateboarding, so the follow-up kept quite a bit of All Star DNA. But with the new CONS Trapasso Pro II rocking the kind of low-cut derby-style silhouette you’d expect to see from Vans, his latest does indeed open up the One Star skate lineup. This burgundy and black edition is all suede except for its white leather Star/Chevron side branding and you can see more details including the LunarLon footbed below before grabbing from select CONS retailers like Premier.

Save their Slam City CTS collabo, Converse Skateboarding has been silent since the Fall 2012 drop, which means we’re long overdue for a new collection of One Star skate kicks. The Holiday 2012 collection is subdued both in stature and its composition, as just three styles make up the run, all in no-nonsense makeups. The CONS Trapasso II Pro comes through in chocolate brown, Kenny Anderson’s KA-One opts for tonal black canvas and the new Pro (Leather) LS rocks the simplest of all colorways (a hint of gold away from what we might consider 2012′s Colorway of the Year). Photos of all three await your click below and find them available now at select Converse retailers.

Given Nick Trapasso’s Long Beach roots, is there any question why he’d choose a Chuck Taylor sole for his Converse Skateboarding signature model? LBC is one of the homes of the west coast ‘khakis-n-Chucks’ look that can be seen as another of the traditional influences shaping the modern skate aesthetic. So while you’re more likely to see a guy grinding a rail in fitted twill pants than JNCOs, the heart and soul (and sole) remains the same for the Converse Trapasso Pro II, Nick’s second One Star sig. A blacklit colorway as well as a crisp grey/white edition just arrived at select retailers so click through to see more and let us know how these compare to the best skateboarding signatures on the market today.
