Nike SB Dunk Low “Skunk” by Dank Customs

Did Nike SB ever do a better job of the 4/20 sneaker release than on the Nike SB Dunk “Skunk” High? That special release had them looking extra fuzzy and was pretty brazen with its tribute thanks to the skunk graphic that showed up for the insole. Riffing off that release is this Nike SB Dunk Low creation from Dank Customs, which goes the recent Nike SB route of switching up the height on a classic pair. Get a look at the results after the break and then tell us in the comments if you’d like to see this sort of pair hit retail.

Kanye West and Nike have parted ways, but that doesn’t mean that custom sneaker creators are going to stop cranking out crossover pairs inspired by Mr. West. The latest of those is this Air Jordan 4 pair, which takes cues from the Patchwork Louis Vuitton Don from Kanye’s LV collection. Not only is the same colorway in place, but the sneakers also have the logos along the heel and the tassel laces. When a guy with a significant string of his very own Air Jordan player exclusives requests your handiwork, you’re clearly among the elite sneaker customizers. Dank Customs got quite the cosign from retired NBA journeyman Juwan Howard, whose nickname ‘Nook’ is added to these two pairs of custom Js just like his own PEs.  First up is a ‘Legends’ Air Jordan 3 with that tonal red ‘Legends of the Summer’ look, but with white sockliner and outsole.  The ‘Oregon’ Jordan 4 puts a new twist on Nike’s favorite school, an interesting choice for this Fab Five Wolverine.  Click in to see more so you can decide which looks better and let us know where these rank among the best custom sneakers we’ve seen of late.

Air Jordan 4 “Blue Undefeated” by Dank Customs

December 25th, 2013 by | 12 comments

air jordan iv blue undefeated custom Air Jordan 4 Blue Undefeated by Dank Customs

There aren’t too many Jordan 4s out there that drum up excitement the same way that the military themed Air Jordan 4 “UNDFTD” does. Reminding us of that immaculate release is this joint from Dank Customs, which stays true to the blocking and materials of said release whilst deviating from the colors utilized. The result is a blue shoe that doesn’t really have a precedent as far as Air Jordan IV releases are concerned. Those who have been on board with Kevin Durant’s sneakers for a while now will remember the “Velvet Hoops” Nike KD 2. At this point we doubt that Foot Locker commercial referencing colorway will ever be back around, so we’ve gotta rely on the custom creators to do the trick. And Dank Customs has done so with this riff on the Nike KD 4, which dons the smooth red shade on the upper and an interesting geometric print on the inside of the strap. Get with us after the click to see the sneakers and give us a heads up in the comments if you like the execution.

Air Jordan 4 “Bordeaux” by Dank Customs

If the Air Jordan4Lab7 ever happens, we have a feeling it would look something like this. The Air Jordan 4 “Bordeaux” isn’t an official release though, but rather a one-off pair from the workshop of Dank Customs. The sneakers not only do an excellent job of appropriating that wine-inspired colorway, they also have the little pendant hit on the back as well as a custom tongue that echoes the jagged shapes of the Air Jordan 7 “Bordeaux”. Nike “Patta Gel Max 90″ by Dank Customs

nike air max 90 patta gel custom Nike Patta Gel Max 90 by Dank Customs

Dank Customs has done it again. And by “it” we mean remixed a Nike Air Max 90 to look like a highly sought-after Asics Gel Lyte III pair. Keep in mind he’s not just bringing the colorway over-he’s also gone so far as to split the tongue in half to give them that true Gel Lyte flavor. The colorway in question is one borrowed from Patta’s GLIII collab that hit back in 2007. The X’ed out lining is left out but that’s made up for by the lace selection, which we can only assume was borrowed from the Patta x Asics Gel Saga creation. See Dank’s work below and give us your two cents on them down in the comments.
