nike air max 1 dont mess with texas Nike Air Max 1 Dont $%&k with Texas by Dank Customs

There aren’t too many states that love the red, white, and blue quite like Texas. Taking advantage of the fact that those colors of our national flag overlap with those of their state flag is this new Nike Air Max 1 joint from Dank Customs. It’s not a mere USA color-up either, the upper puts on some elephant print that may or may not be a little GOP shoutout. Air Jordan XI Low “Space Jam” by Dank Customs

Remember when Dank Customs whipped up that low-top version of the Air Jordan XI “Bred”? He follows that up with another low-top version of the Air Jordan XI classic – the iconic “Space Jam” colorway that started a string of singular XI Retro releases in December. This one’s got the iconic XI detailing down to the tee, but in typical fashion, Dank adds a sick touch with the Space Jam movie logo on insoles of the shoes. Definitely an impressive piece to take a gander at, so check out the gallery below and chime in with your opinions in the comments below.

Nike iD was a convenient way to get your own 1-of-1 sneakers without having to look for a proper sneaker customizer, and even today, with such a broad library of available footwear models to customize to your own liking, Nike iD has become more popular than ever. Even sneaker customizers have taken advantage of iD offerings, like with this “Stash” inspiration completed by Dank Customs. Using a pair he created on Nike iD, Dank added a few grey panels, speckling, new laces, and a tongue label from the Air Max 90 “Laser Blue” – a rather efficient way to create a banger of a custom. More below, so take a look and let us know what special iDs you have cooked up in your closet!

A major headline that had the streetwear industry gasping in surprise was Original Fake announcing its final season of production. Since 2006, the infamous KAWS emblem has been a mainstay in high-end streetwear, going beyond apparel and into the amazing figurines in collaboration with Medicom Toy while partnering up with several brands in the process. In this latest custom by Dank Customs, a proper tribute is paid to the now closed Original Fake label, featuring the KAWS logo on the heel, the double-X baseball stitch detail on the toe, and a special teeth-inspired tongue label detailing the brand’s legendary run from 2006 to 2013. The Black/Volt is a nice throwback to KAWS’ collaboration with Nike in the past as well! We’ve got a full gallery of this amazing custom below, so take a look and let us know what you think.

Nike Air Max 90 ’112′ by Dank Customs

Dank Customs just applied the ‘Entourage’ Air Force 1 motif to the unlikely Air 180 for the upcoming Sole Search sneaker scavenger hunt, but might his latest application of an instantly recognizable color/texture combo be even more impressive?  The Nike Air Max 90 ‘N2THA0 217′ custom takes its name from sneaker collector Norm Dawson’s birthday (which he just so happens to share with one Michael Jeffrey Jordan), but its look is utterly ’112′.  These take the Neon AM95-plus-Elephant formula made famous by DJ Clark Kent and apply it to the Air Max 90 silhouette (Elephant being practically unprecedented on the AM90), adding embroidered branding, a custom shoebox and an info card hangtag that collectively lend these a serious sense of professionalism.  The custom sneaker world has grown too large to ask if this one is ‘the best’, but there’s also no discussion that this is one of the most sharply executed projects we’ve profiled here on Sneaker News.  Let us know what you think when you click through for more images and stick with us for all the latest custom sneakers.

We’re just over two weeks from San Antonio Sneaks Up 6 on April 29th, and coming up for this year’s event is another Sole Search event whereby five pairs of a custom sneaker creation are hidden across SATX in conjunction with Austin-based Nice Kicks, with clues dispersed via social media until they’re all captured.  This year’s design is another of the colorway-transfer of which we’ve seen so many this season, though the pairing of an underappreciated retro runner with this particular style is one of the more unique.  The Nike Air 180 ’Fukijima’ by Dank Customs is a sendup of the ‘Entourage’ Air Force 1 Low whose white-Swooshed sample version we just showed you earlier this week.  The Entourage Uptowns are one of the true holy grails of modern sneakerhead culture; how does this custom Air 180 rank against a true modern classic?  Let us know when you click through to see all the San Antonio-specific laser etching and stick with Sneaker News for the latest custom designs.
