We can chalk up the first Nike Zoom Revis model to be an oustanding success, as this Trainer has become a rather popular pick among sneakerhead consumers, celebrities, and athletes alike. While Darrelle’s status as a New York Jet in the future is still uncertain with trade rumors and such being swirled around, we can certainly bank on a Zoom Revis 2 to be in the works. We’re sure designer Ken Link is working on that these days, but it’s still a treat to see the Zoom Revis 1 in its early days – particularly in sketch forms. These sketches appear to be at the final step before production, with a look at an earlier silhouette providing some direction toward the final design. Will you like to see a Revis 2? The terrible timing of Darrelle Revis’ injury out a heavy cloud over what could have been a career year for the cornerback. Darrelle was a shoo-in for this Sunday’s All-Pro exhibition game known as the Pro Bowl, but that freak injury to his knee cut his season well short, forcing Nike to put a spin on the debut of his signature shoe in December. Although Revis wasn’t selected to the team, a Nike Zoom Revis ‘Pro Bowl’ is appropriate considering he’d have no problem making the team was it not for the injury; this PE version is similar to the Cool Grey edition but features a light blue accent with the silhouette of the state of Hawaii on the outsole. No word on a release just yet, but check out the photos below and let us know what you think.

Did you get some sneakers under the Christmas tree this year? We were probably all wishing for that to happen to some extent, and it looks as if NFL athlete Darrelle Revis had that wish come true. With the rise of popularity in custom sneakers comes added recognition from sneakerheads that have a little extra money to throw around. Jordan Retros will run you nearly $200 these days, but if you have your paper right, you can get them custom-made – like these Air Jordan IV ‘Python’ customs that were made for Jets superstar Darrelle Revis. These crafty IVs, commissioned by Revis’s manager John Geiger as a Christmas gift to his good friend and client, were made by JBF Customs, who, throughout all of his projects seen on Sneaker News, relied once again on incredible materials and details rather than a simple colorway change. The second Revis related trainer for this week is arriving in stores tomorrow, the earlier Nike Zoom Revis pair succeeded by this Nike Air Trainer 1. The colorway remains a fairly subtle one at certain angles, with the hefty 3M touches coming to life at others. On top of that the sneakers get some bright crimson and a few personal touches to drive home the Darrelle Revis connection. The first and the latest come together in this must-have release as the original Air Trainer 1 teams up with the recently inducted Darrelle Revis for this Premium NRG release. Revis joins the super-exclusive group of signature Nike athletes of the NFL with the release of the Zoom Revis, which Nike celebrates with this Black/Bright Crimson colorway. On the heel is this sick 24 Revis Island logo in Bright Crimson, with reflective uppers on the forefoot strap and Swoosh. Peep this sick Trainer 1 below and stay tuned for a release on December 15th!

A signature Nike sneaker for an NFL athlete is ten years in the making, and it couldn’t have arrived at a better time and for a better person.
